Mason did not play Friday or Saturday last year. I got to the finals last year 3 hours before the game. The ticket line ran all the way down to the tennis court. It was Montgomery vs. Pendleton in the finals that night. I don't think there were that many Mason fans standing in line. It was mostly Pendleton Co. and some Montgomery Co. fans Remembering that night from last year was neat. Pendleton Co. had a crowd that circled the gym and filled in alot of the Montgomery side. Montgomery historically does not have a large following. Seems odd to me that they want to host the region. Their fan base year in and year out is sparse.

Deming's Travis Massey scored his 1000th this year. He is a junior.

If the new gym at Montgomery is to hold 4500 I see a slight problem. This would probably work for the first round games. But, when you get to the semi-finals and finals there is no way that gym would be big enough. The fieldhouse hold between 6200 to 6500 and it gets very crowed on Friday and Saturday. I'm no math genius, but according to my calculations 6000 fans can't fit into a gym holding 4500. Also, I have heard talk about the new NKU arena. What would the rent be to hold the tournament their? Many schools depend on the regional tournament check for a big part of their income for their department. If the rent for the arena is very high this is only going to hurt the schools. If that's the case keep it at Mason Co. or try Montgomery. But, stay away form the greedy hands of the Universities. To finish I wish it would stay at the Fieldhouse. Great place to watch a game, great seating, and tradition.

Harrison Co. Freshman defeated Deming by 9 in 38th District Championship game. Harrison had defeated Pendleton in semi-finals. Deming beat Nicholas Co. in the other semi-final. Congrats to the Throbreds and Good Luck in the Region!!

Deming improves to 6-11 while Augusta falls to 5-12. Deming was paced by Senior Jordan Massey who had a career high 37 points and 25 rebounds. Freshman Nathan Mitchell added 16 for the Devils. Augusta was paced by Josh White's 15 points. Deming played without starter Billy Graves and Augusta without starter Levi Gallagher. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the season.

That should have said they start for the Freshman not the Varsity. My bad!

Mustang don't count Deming out yet. Harrison beat them by 6 at Deming and in the rematch Deming led most of the game before falling at the end. The District is at Deming also. Not to mention that Deming starts 3 7th graders on the varsity. YOu should check them out. Their fun to watch.
