I love Chick-fil-a, but I think the Zaxby's chicken sandwich is better. This is my fast food choice.
The best fried chicken sandwich I have had is from Joella's Chicken in Lexington in the old Billy's Bar-B-Q location. It is a fried chicken and pimento cheese sandwich.
My mouth begins to salivate just thinking about it.

You sort of implied in your initial post that Calipari wasn't an X & O guy, but now you're back tracking and saying he loves to play half court patterns and plays. So which is it?
And I definitely agree with you. Calipari has a lot of different motion offenses that he puts in play which gives the players options. He doesn't seem to have as many just set plays. I prefer Cal's style of basketball, which is what most of the successful programs are using in 2018. I don't consider Tony Bennet's very successful because he hasn't accomplished anything.
Just where in my post did I imply Coach Cal wasn't an X & O guy? Your reading comprehension is suspect.
Tony Bennett hasn't accomplished anything? Come on...the guy has the number 1 team in the country. You might not like him or his style, but at least be fair in evaluating his accomplishments.

Until he makes the tournament....Then he falls flat on his face every. single. year.
He has coached at Washington State and Virginia. These are not basketball juggernauts.
Making 3 NCAA tournament Sweet Sixteens and winning over 70% of his games at these schools is not "falling flat on his face".
-
Except an X and O coach isn't able to recruit the caliber of players at Kentucky & Duke because they don't want to play "pure basketball". Which basically means they don't want to play an old and outdated version of basketball.
I guess it is a matter of taste.
I do not consider Virginia's style "old and outdated". Passing, spacing, execution, and defense you consider "old and outdated"?
Do you think Cal plays up and down, run and gun, pressing basketball? If you do, you are wrong. Cal loves to call half court patterns and plays.
-
I like Tony Bennett of Virginia.
He is a great basketball coach. He is a very well grounded individual. He has class.
I know some people would complain about the style of play, particularly the pace of play, but his teams play pure basketball and (for me) it is enjoyable to watch. Unbelievable execution.
Could you imagine a great X and O coach like Tony Bennett coaching the caliber players Coach Cal has had here at Kentucky?

I've been playing golf for 32 years and I've yet to have a Hole-in-One.
You have me really thinking now, Jahearme.
I have played golf for 46 years and I have yet to have a hole-in-one.
After some basic calculations, I have determined that I have played approximately 6000 par three holes in my life and I am 0-6000.
Humbling! :(

I remember this season so very well 40 years later.
1977-78 was a magical year for UK athletics. 10-1 in football and 30-2 and a National Championship in basketball. Who has ever done that?

I love it. I don't like the slick roads the snow brings. Only good thing about winter is Christmas and basketball season.
Most years, "Goldie".
This has been a tougher winter with our Wildcats' inconsistent play. :(
Your GRC Cardinals have had a nice season, however.
-
It has been a long winter in Lexington watching this bunch ride the roller coaster. Up, down, up, down, down, down. :(
-
Good ballgame tonight at Henry Clay and a big win for the Blue Devils. GRC has a nice ball club, but I don't think we saw their best performance tonight. The Cardinals did have a nice sized, energetic following who drove over from Winchester.
Henry Clay had their best shooting performance of the season. A bunch of threes. They will greatly miss senior forward Andreas Green who was out with a meniscus issue.
The Blue Devils open a very tough district against Bryan Station on Wednesday night. It is ashame that one of these teams will be done with their season after Wednesday's game. It will be played at Frederick Douglas High School and should be a good one.
-
I agree. They would be a top team in the 10th
Thanks so much
Are you coming over tonight, "Goldie"?

I am really impressed with a couple of things I take away from looking at these statistics:
6'0" Seth Stockton of Clinton County averaging over 12 rebounds per game. Let's face it, in high school if you are listed at 6'0", you are more than likely only about 5'10" or 5'11". Even more impressive.
Four players averaging over 30 points per game.
Covington Catholic can really shoot the basketball. I have not seen them yet this season, but shooting nearly 56% as a team from the field and 45% from distance is phenomenal.

Maybe Cooper Robb ought to start coming off the bench. :sssh:
-
Gonna be hard to win that half of a game.

I hear what you are saying but my guess is Haley is kind of a jerk and since they will be changing QBs soon they might as well change their OC too.
I didn't know that.
So Todd Haley and Ben Roethlisberger are both jerks.
What does that combination give you?
-
Awful story. Sad.
-
Steelers offensive ranks with Haley as OC
2012: 21st
2013: 20th
2014: 2nd
2015: 3rd
2016: 7th
2017: 3rd
Those are the types of numbers that typically get coordinators head coaching jobs....
Yea, fire this rotten offensive coordinator! Unproductive.
He failed to call the quarterback sneak on 4th down with his quarterback being a 35 year old, often injured player. I would love to see the reaction if Todd Haley called the QB sneak and Big Ben was injured. Then they ought to fire him.
-
It sounded like he was not the only one receiving the threats though.
I'd like to think it wasn't true but sadly we've been down this road before.
Yes we have, but in basketball. I don't think this sounds like typical UK football fans. They are used to defeat one way or another.
Basketball is a whole other story.

Then you have been around much or haven't paid much attention. It doesn't happen on the Power Conferences but happens every week on the small conference games.
UNLV Rebels @ Fresno State Bulldogs

If you look at this in your attachment, it shows UNLV opened as an 11.5 point favorite and the game went off as Fresno State being a 22 point favorite. It is obviously a mistake.
I remember this game because UNLV's quarterback was out and they played a former linebacker at quarterback. Even more amazing.....UNLV won straight up.
I checked a database that showed Fresno actually opened as a 15 point favorite.
Line moves like this one are VERY unusual. Obviously, UNLV had their quarterback out. Trust me, the pointspreads don't move 7-10 points in college football. Maybe 1% of the games.
Oh, and by the way, I have been around and I do pay attention and have been for nearly 40 years. And you?
-
NFL doesn't move much (3 or 4 points is a big move) but college lines can move up to 7-10 points
I have NEVER seen a college line move anywhere near 7-10 points.
-
Should we even believe this?
This guy has a track record of not telling the truth as is evident after his interpretation of what happened to cause him to eject Benny Snell.

Ouch!
S.A.W.

Diallo has regressed big time. Feels like he has been good since SGA got some spotlight.
He is awful right now.
-
The Cats (and Cal) just choked it, but those officials ought to be ashamed of themselves in calling nearly 80 fouls. That is a joke.....just pitiful.
