Bingo. Difference isnt HS football in KY, its the players and their camp attendance and performance. DH is legit, wouldnt matter where he played HS. Camps are where offers come from.

You are correct. He can't help the teams he plays against, all he can do is show out every game. He also does it a camp where the "best" of the best is.

Heard a college coach who is at a big time school, has produced a few backs in the day, and a few Heisman guys. Say he is the best prospect he's seen since Adrian Peterson. So take it fwiw

Always gotta keep the doors open in recruiting. Not saying he's legit interested, not saying he isn't. I'll stick with UK is low on the list at this point. Never say never thou. Stoops and company will not give up on anyone, especially him.

Alabama has recruited so well that our back up QB who is hurt is thought to be a sure fire starter for them next year??

Rumor in the coaching world is French would not commit to the Southwestern job until Chuck took the MC job. Basically not wanting to let Chuck come back. Not sure if it is true but is funny if it is what our society is coming to.

Was told this as well.

It's been an eventful week. For what it is worth.....

 

1- Chuck Smith did what is best for him and his family- which is what he should do.

2- The way it happened, no one likes, including Chuck Smith. It was rough how this happened shortly after going to Central. But it doesn't change #1.

3- Coach French would not drag his feet to keep Chuck out of Boyle. Coach French did what was best for him and his family.

4- I've known both of these guys for a long time, coached with them, they have been my mentors for 30+ years. No one is perfect, but these two really are GREAT people and GREAT coaches.

5-Coach French and Chuck are at the top of their profession, but all of us are getting older. Both of them need to take advantage of opportunities and do what is best for them and their families. This sounds impossible right now, but the day is coming that no one will be calling them to offer them a coaching job. While they are still in demand and can make the moves they are making, they should do so.

6-I think what is getting lost in this scenario is that Mark Scenters is an outstanding young coach. Mark and I have shared ideas over the past few years. He is a very creative and innovative coach. Not just in his football, but in his overall approach to building a program. He is very organized.

 

All 3 programs are in great hands with guys that want to be where they are. If my son were in any of the three schools being coached by one of these three, I would be very happy.

Had an interesting conversation with a buddy of mine from a nearby school out side of Madison County. They know all about the MC job from being from here etc... CS everything you said here is almost word for word what I was told around 530 today. He also mentioned about coaches, funding for new jerseys, etc as having he thought alot to do with it. I wish Mark the best of luck at MC as do I coach smith at boyle.

I don't think UK gets him soley based on the offense they run. Harris seems to fit in a pro style offense not the air raid.

Knowing Coach Parker like I do, kid will be coached up and every bit as good as advertised.

From the guys I've talked to Elam has played this very close to the chest. They truly don't know what he's gonna do. They have said they believe it's uk but wouldn't bet the farm.

My concern with Bourbon is if the realignment plays out the way I've seen it. Bourbon road to state got a lot tougher.
