Yes, but excluding the opening kickoff they did pretty well including two punts that forced Alabama to begin the series inside their own 5 yard line and almost resulted in a safety. Special teams did a good job overall.
I believe Ryan Tydlacka will be the punter at the KY-TN all star game but he is also an outstanding kicker. Coach Brooks said that Ryan would compete for all three positions at UK next year. Here are his stats:
73 touchbacks on 116 kickoffs (62.9%)
79/81 PATS
5/7 FG's (Trinity rarely attempts a field goal)
45.6 yds per punt
long of 65
1st team all state punter (senior) - Louisville Courier Journal
1st team all state punter (junior & senior) - Associated Press
1st team all state punter (junior & senior) - BGP
all south region punter - Prepstars Magazine
Tydlacka received scholarship offers from three D-1A schools.
A 50+ yard field goal in high school is great and I would like to see the outstanding player honor go to a special team guy. One note, however, unless he did not use a tee and a "kicker friendly" ball you cannot compare it to a college or NFL kicker result.
