  1. Jeff Walz is not leaving Louisville for Kentucky. That would be a downgrade, and Louisville will pay him whatever he wants. There would have to be some advantage beyond money that UK could provide. What would that be?
  2. Skip is THIRSTY for relevance. His two most recent co-workers (SAS and Uncle Shay) are absolutely thriving, and Skip is an afterthought. Assuming you really believe in Deion's ability to recruit and coach, "the next Alabama dynasty" is a ridiculous take, even by Skip's standards. There won't be a "next Alabama." That's done. The transfer portal ended that.
  3. Money grab. Plain and simple. It will be a glorified sparring match. Mike Tyson would literally kill Jake Paul in a real boxing match.
  4. The Cats are legitimate title contenders. They’re extremely fun to watch, especially on the offensive end.
  5. And that's my concern with him. If he takes the Louisville job, would he bolt to IU when that opens again. Also I just don't think he's done enough to get me excited for him to be Louisville's coach.
  6. Out of all the names we've heard so far, Drew would be the best hire, in my opinion. I just doubt that he'd leave Baylor after so long.
  7. Some folks seem to think Dusty May is the mystery second choice, which would be a huge dud for me.
  8. Scott Drew at Baylor is the #1 target, if he wants it, it's his. There is a "clear second choice" lined up that would apparently take it if Drew says no. While definitely a longshot, the possibility of Billy Donovan is out there, but still pretty unlikely at this point.
  9. Despite the football team's success over the years, and now Brohm returning and bringing us back, Louisville is still very much a "basketball school."
  10. Oats has been getting a lot of chatter recently. I wouldn’t mind Shaka I guess, but he has literally no tournament success outside of his one run at VCU.
  11. If I thought Drew were a realistic option, he’d be at the top of my list. He’s been at Baylor way too long to leave, IMO.
  12. We've already done that once, I'd be fine doing it again. 😂
  13. He would fall into the longest shots group for me. I'd imagine he has zero desire to coach college again, but he definitely has the personality for this job.
  14. There is definitely something to be said for the guys at "football schools." That would be a tough sell, IMO. Mick would do fine here, but he's not a sexy pick. I don't think the Admin would consider Beard, but I could be wrong.
  15. I believe the buyout will be $6 million.
  16. Not for certain, but I would imagine up to $5-$6 million would be the range. That's purely speculation on my part. I believe they would pay would it would take to get any of those guys on that list.
  17. Look at us! Here we are, nearing the end of the cataclysmic failure that is the Kenny Payne era. We are less than two weeks away, so I figured we could start discussing who the replacement will be. A few names that are consistently being thrown around as a possible replacement: Mick Cronin Chris Beard Eric Musselman Nate Oats Scott Drew Bruce Pearl Shaka Smart I am pretty confident UofL's next coach will come from that group, but I honestly have no idea who it will be. Drew and Pearl seem like extreme longshots to me, and I don't really consider them realistic options. Let's discuss.
  18. You singled out my response, and then followed up 25 days later. 😂
  19. Several people questioned whether or not he should be playing as much as he was, or that he was the answer at PG. You just didn't like who delivered the message.
  20. Cool. Do you have a problem with other people's assessments of him after the UT game?
