  3. The Stallions (2-0) take care of business with their seven-point win over a tough Panthers (1-1) squad earlier today. Matt Corral (Ole Miss) and Adrian Martinez (Kansas State) led the offense from their quarterback slot by completing 13-27 passes for 141 yards. The combo combined to rush for 93 yards to keep the Panthers defense on their toes. Ricky Person Jr. (North Carolina State) carries the rock just 7 times, good for 14 yards and one big touchdown. The star of the game for the winners was kicker, Chris Blewitt (Pittsburgh). He had four field goals. Lorenzo Burns (Arizona) led the defense with seven tackles. A.J. Thomas (Western Michigan) had a pick. For the Panthers, E.J. Perry (Brown) had an interception and a touchdown pass on 20-33 passing. He totaled 203 yards. Marcus Simms (West Virginia) had the touchdown catch all in all he had three catches and 96 yards. Jake Bates (Arkansas) easily hit a 62-yard field goal and one from 52 yards. Frank Ginda (San Jose State) led all tacklers with fourteen. Keith Gipson Jr. (Mary-Hardin Baylor) had an interception.
  4. Definitely the announcer. The kicker was like been there done that.🥱
  5. Me too. Bates and that leg. He made the 620yard field goal today look like a chip shot.

  7. Brody Benke Highlands High School QB/Wr/TE/LS 2024 6'4 250 Middle Tennessee State University What will you miss the most about being a student-athlete at Highlands? I will miss all my teammates and coaches who have really made me the person I am today. I've spent countless hours with everyone who is part of the program. What mark do you believe your class left on the football program? I feel like my class brought the winning tradition back to Highlands. We didn't make it where we wanted, but we were one game away, and that's the closest Highlands has been in years. What was your biggest accomplishment as a high school football player? My biggest accomplishment personally was being one of the players my team relied on to make a big play when we needed it. What was your biggest disappointment as a high school football player? I did not win any of the 4 years I was at Highlands. Highlands plays a tough schedule year in and year out. Who, if you can pick one, was the best team you guys ever faced during your career? My sophomore year was Bowling Green, my junior year was South Warren, and my senior year was Cooper. The best team, in my opinion, was South Warren. Who was the best player or defense that you faced in a game? Austin Alexander's Coopers defense was really the only one that stopped us last season. Of all of the road games you played in, which stadium had the best overall atmosphere, along with what made it so good? The Lex Cath game was my favorite road game; the energy was high since it was our first game, and we played one of the most complete games of the season that game. What lesson have you learned from playing sports that you will be able to use later in life? Sports has taught me to get my work done and be accountable, and it has given me experience working as a team and not as an individual. What advice would you give to that young kid who wants to play football for the first time? It's not easy; you will have rough days and days you want to quit. I didn't even like football until I was a freshman, and I fell in love with it. If you're a young kid that's not in high school and you want to quit, stick with it and at least try it in high school. I wasn't even planning on playing my freshman year, and playing was the best decision I've ever made. All-star games used to be an honor for players to be invited to and play in. These days, players seem to turn their noses up at them. If you are invited to play in one, will you? It is an honor to be recognized and play in an All-Star game. I was invited to play in one, but I will not play because it is right before I report for college, and how I look at it, it's not worth getting injured in an All-Star game and not being able to play in college because I got hurt. If I weren't playing in college, I would 100% be playing in the All-Star Game. This is a new question I have been asking, and so far all of the players and coaches, with the exception of two, have answered. The two that did not just say no comment. Do you feel that private schools have an unfair advantage over public schools? I would say private schools do have an advantage, but I wouldn't say it's an unfair advantage. High school football isn't really about the players they have; at the end of the day, it comes down to coaching and the work being done in the weight room. Before you let everyone know where you have committed to play your college ball, would you share with us some of the schools that recruited you? Toledo, UAB, EKU, Kentucky, West Virginia, Wofford, and Middle Tennessee What was the best and worst part of the recruiting process? The best part was going to all the schools and seeing what each school had to offer. The worst part was that you got a lot of leads and coaches would tell you one thing and it wouldn't happen. What made you choose Middle Tennessee? It was the best opportunity for me to play my freshman year, and it's easily the best college I've visited. I really felt wanted and loved when I went on my visit. I was just at a spring practice, and the players made me feel welcomed, and every coach said something to me. It's really a family, and Coach Mason has one of the best staffs in the country around him. Right when I got on campus, I knew that if they offered me something, I was taking it. Middle Tennessee really just felt like home to me. What is your favorite genre of music? Country Have you ever been to a Cincinnati Bengals game? Yes, I love the Bengals. My parents have had season tickets for 20 years, so I go to a lot of the games! Will you watch any of the new spring football leagues? (UFL) Yes, I watched the Showboats vs. Brahmas game yesterday. Watching any type of football is enjoyable to me! Link to pics that the player sent for the interview https://hearltlandfan15.blogspot.com/2024/04/2024-interview-with-brody-benke-from.html

Darrius Shepherd (North Dakota State) pulled in 9 balls good for 82 yards. Mataeo Durant (Duke) had 104 yards on 14 carries with a rushing touchdown. Andre Szmyt (Syracuse) was 2-3 on field goals, with a long of 47 yards. For the Renegades (0-2) Luis Perez (Texas A&M-Commerce) threw for 233- yards and 1 touchdown. He went 21-29. Sal Cannella (Auburn) had the touchdown reception. Overall he caught 2 balls for 10 yards. De'Veon Smith (Michigan) and Lindsey Scott Jr (Incarnate Word) each had a rushing score. Taylor Russolino (Millsaps) hit a 52-yard field goal but missed a 46-yarder.

  11. The Brahmas (2-0) were down 16-0 entering the fourth quarter, but they used a 20-3 run in the final frame to shock the Showboats (1-1). Chase Garbers (Cal) had three touchdown passes, 29-40, 287 yards, with one pick. Marquez Stevenson (Houston) had 6 catches, 103 yards, and a touchdown. Cody Latimer (Indiana) had 8 catches, 91 yards, and a touchdown. Jontre Kirklin (LSU) had 7 catches, 53 yards, and a touchdown. Leading the winners defense was, Jordan Mosley (Maryland) with 10 tackles. For Memphis, Matt Coghlin (Michigan State) who is from Cincinnati had four field goals. Case Cookus (Northern Arizona) threw for 194 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 58 yards. Top

  14. Kaden Clay Fredrick Douglass High ILB. RB 2025 6’0 214 How long have you played football, along with the reasons you continue to play? I have played since the age of 6. And my number one reason to continue playing is that I truly love the game, and I told my cousin before he passed that I was going to make it, and I couldn't let him down. #LL6 Inside linbacker or runningback. Which of those two positions do you feel you are better at? Explain I definitely feel like I can still play RB right now, but I would say I am better at the inside backer position. Even though I don’t like it as much, I have to do what's best for me. I felt like I was the best RB in the state of Kentucky, honestly, but I think the difference is the impact that I can have on the team on the defensive side of the ball. It feels natural. What were your goals heading into the 2023 season, and did you achieve those goals? Coming off an injury the year before, I had high expectations for myself. I wanted to lead the team in tackles and picks and just make a name for myself. and I did these things I felt like doing, but I will continue to try and get my name out there. Who was the best team you faced during the 2023 season, and why do you believe they were so good? Definitely hoban; they just wanted it more to me than a lot of other people. Focusing on only the road games you have played, which stadium was the best to have played in? Trinity playoff game, the crowd was great, the intensity of the game was up the whole time, and it was just a fun atmosphere to be in. Who was the best player you guys faced during the 2023 season? I would say probably the Smith twins from Corbin; they are dawgs. Do you feel as though you and your teammates are role models for the kids who come and root for you? I think we are just knowing how big Douglas football is in the community. We try to do a lot of giving back and just doing good things for the community. What has been your biggest accomplishment as a football player? For me, getting that first offer and getting that stress on my back of going to college for free was so important to me, seeing the path my brothers went down for college. What has been your biggest embarrassment as an athlete? Probably any moment that I felt as if I didn't do enough to help the team What is the best advice you have been given when it comes to playing sports, and who gave you that advice? Being coachable and just being willing to go the extra step further that these other people are doing the extra stuff outside of practice sets me aside. What makes playing football for Fredrick Douglass so special? It's a standard. We work hard, and that's all we know. We won't cheat our way around it because to be great, it takes work, and I feel like we are one big culture of different people. I know that your recruitment has taken off. Would you share with the readers some of the schools showing interest in you? Akron, Miami, OH, Ball St., Marshall, Louisville, UAB Eastern Michigan, West Virginia Who are your role models? My brothers have been down the path that I've been on, made mistakes, and not had anyone to fall back on for help, so I'm thankful for them, and my mother is always teaching me hard work. Outside of sports, what do you do for fun? I love to play pickup basketball with the guys, play video games, and just be around my brothers, my "family.” What scares you? letting the people down that look up to me or look at me as a leader. 16. Corey Parsley Martin County High School Guard/Defensive Tackle 2025 5”11, 235 What were your personal goals entering the 2023 season, and were you able to achieve those goals? My main personal goal was to excel as an offensive lineman and gain reps on the defensive line, and ultimately, I believe I exceeded both of these goals. I even started most of the year on D Line. What were the goals you had set for your team entering the 2023 season, and did the team achieve those goals? The main goal set for the team was to win a district championship. We met this goal and even got to play in a regional championship, which we unfortunately lost. What were your overall thoughts about playing in the Pike County Bowl? The Pike County Bowl was a tough game for us. We walked in there and acted like we were going to steamroll Pike County Central, and we lost, which is always tough, even though we ended up getting revenge later in the year. Who was the best team that Martin County faced during the 2023 season? The best team we faced was undoubtedly Beachwood. They were on another level than we were, and we just have to grind this offseason to try and reach that level for this upcoming season. Who was the best player that Martin Couty faced during the 2023 season, along with the team he played for? The best player we faced was probably Clay Hayden for Beechwood. It didn’t seem like he ever missed a throw. What are you going to miss the most from the 2023 class? I am going to miss all my senior buddies, who were my best friends for years on the team. Especially my lineman boys: Noah Mollette, Tate Crum, and Bryston Wells. Which road game did you enjoy the most during the 2023 season? Explain My favorite road game was probably Beechwood, even though we got beat. Just the bus trip and the fun we had before the game were awesome. Which stadium that you played in during the 2023 season was the worst to play in? Explain The worst stadium was definitely East Carter. It was grass, and it was pouring rain. Everybody just kept slipping and falling, and we weren't able to make any plays. What is your favorite part of a Martin County practice? My favorite part of a Martin County practice is definitely the camaraderie and the competition. Everybody is always having fun and trying to make each other better. What is the toughest part of a Martin County practice? The toughest part of a practice is the conditioning. While it does stink, it’s in those moments that you find yourself and make yourself a better player. Which side of the line do you enjoy playing on the most? Explain I enjoy playing on the right side the most because that's the side I’ve always played on. It’s just the most comfortable for me. Which side of the line is the hardest to prepare for? Explain The side of the line that's hardest to prepare for is the side that has their best defensive player. We always have to come up with ways to take care of that player, which isn't what we usually do. What is your favorite type of music? My favorite type of music is country music. I can relate to it the most. What is your go-to snack? Definitely a kitkat. The best candy bar. What are your hobbies when you are not playing or practicing sports? Hunting and fishing. I love the outdoors. Pics with the interview at the below link https://hearltlandfan15.blogspot.com/2024/03/2024-inlerview-with-outdoorsman-and.html
