  1. Zach Carr is a kid no one knows about in this area. 6'5", big body, great touch around the basket. Hasn't played much competitively and if he keeps working and getting stronger he has a chance to be a good big man for the Crusaders the next 2yrs.

As for the the game, it looked like Grant Co had this one wrapped up through the third but literally gave it away. So many turnovers and dumb fouls. St Henry was 19-30 from FT which made watching this tough.

Nice win for the Crusaders but they still need to keep their heads down and keep working hard.

  2. Very odd that St Henry should have the height and length advantage in this one.

Cru has shown early they are a hard working group and they have a lot to prove after a rough season last year.

Last 10yrs this matchup has been very even surprisingly. If you play at St Henry....this is one of those games that you can't wait to play in.

I'll take Crusaders in an upset 62-58

  3. Sloppy game. Free throws were the difference in this one. Saunders was the best player on the floor. Kid is steady and can do it all. Liked what I saw from big man Sam Dedden of St Henry. CRU's defense gave Brossart fits in the 2nd half and led them to nice little comeback in the 4th but could never really get over the hump. Lots of young players in the this game on both sides....but very impressive young players.

  4. ....and to be clear when NKYboy says "quality" minutes he means it. Someone assumed he was getting in when the game was a blowout like many walk-ons. Not true. Think Cameron Mills minutes. He got 21 minutes and was 1/1 from 3 in Coastal's one-point win over Clemson.

Great success story. No one outside of Edgewood and Erlanger knew of him in high school. He got bigger and stronger and kept working on his shot.

Congrats to Jordan who earned his first start last night in a last second loss to Florida International

  5. How bout some love for former St Henry guard Jordan Griffin. The kid was a walk on at Coastal Carolina and was basically unheard of in the area. Now he's seeing quality mins and produced 8pts in a quality win over LSU and a 3ball last night in win vs Clemson.

I may be wrong but right now I only show 3 D-1 payers from the 9th Region playing quality minutes Ricardo Johnson at Ohio U, Nic Simpson at North Car A&T, and Jordan Griffin at Coastal Carolina....any others?

  6. I sorta understand the if the video feed had anything to do with LIVE FEED. It could take away from the attendence some. But why in the world can't they run these games on ICN2 or ICN6 whatever on tape delay. Tonight was one of the greatest games ever played in the 9th Region and possibly the greatest ever. Id love to watch that again this week some time. A darn shame that will not happen.

  7. Don't know what game you were watching but the officiating crew did a great job. You must have been in another gym watching another game.

Agreed. I thought the for the most part all of the boys regional games were officiated very well. I'll never understand why fans think refs should be perfect. The kids on the floor know mistakes are going to be made and for the most part except it. But the fans or observers watch officiating and see 3 bad calls as AN AWFUL REFFED GAME. 3 out of a few hundered is a pretty good percentage.

  8. Coach B is pretty emotional. He seemed PO'd that his defenders were leaving the shooter wide open. I took it as complete and utter frustration.

This may be true and im sure a bunch of us would be just as ticked off....but other Coaches in the area have taken a lot of heat for the same antics and showing frustration from other BGP posters.

I think Coach Brannen does this a lot while on the bench and its part of his style....but in my opinion he looks like pretty rediculous doing it. Kinda embarrassing.
