Thanks for the updates Big Fig!! What a game!!

Better effort by the Colonels tonight, but tough to win in "the Pit". Panthers wore down CCH in the second half. Isler went out in the 2nd half and left the game on crutches--Hope he's OK!!

Good halftime adjustments by BW. Sounded like the Beechies just wore down HC in the 2nd half. HC's offense continues to be woeful, as they did little after their first possession ended in a field goal!!

Opening District game goes to the breds. Good season for the camels.
Didn't get to make this, but was a double overtime thriller with NCC scoring the deciding goal deep into the 2nd overtime per the report I got!! Great game and a fine season by the Camels!! 'Breds in the championship game Wednesday night!!

Exactly, this is why imo it should say the same. Especially since the numbers are good (120 teams isn't far from orignal number of total teams) and the tournament is still going strong. By making this a 2A school tournament it takes the origanal purpose out of the tournament as whole. If it aint broke then don't fix it.
Wait a while until numbers are down and there should be an actual reason for change. Then we'll have a better outlook on the situation and number of teams then we'll be more able to come to a final decision about change.
I like the idea of 9-12 around 450-500 when the time comes but not yet.
Have to agree with staying with the same enrollment number qualifications, as it seems to be a pretty large tourney already with approximately 115-125 participants each year?? I think that's roughly 40% of the teams in the state? The thinking is to base the numbers on 4 year enrollments, as they're not many (if any) 3 year HS's left; but to make it much larger would not make sense. It already includes all the "A" football schools and about half of the 2-A schools!!

It'll come with time for Brossart. They are only in their 2nd year as a program right?
Played a JV/Freshman schedule last year, and this is the first year of Varsity play.

Mustang makes good points. Sometimes the best pass is the one you don't throw and instead take the two yard loss and live to play the next down. That is really hard to do when a team is constantly playing from behind because kids and the coaching staff want to make plays.
It doesn't just happen to inexperienced teams. Plenty of teams have this problem.
Also very good points APNW. As most know football is a sport where to be successful each player needs to handle his assignment, and let his teammates do the same; and if all are successful, the play succeeds. Trying to do someone elses job ususally results in breakdowns, and the old adage of players "trying to do too much".
I agree that its hard not to try and do that little extra to make something happen; but usually that results in disaster. This one was tough since this might be the first game where BB wasn't totally "outsized", and seemed to matchup fairly well sizewise with the Panthers. As Mustang said though they shot themselves in the foot at the outset, and as usual found themselves fighting an uphill battle.
They MUST eliminate the mistakes and miscues if they hope to play a competitive game this season, and the schedule isn't getting any easier as after Eminence comes Dayton, CAL and Gallatin. Best of luck to both teams the rest of the year!!

Good luck Coach Yeagle!! Get well and get back soon--NKY Football needs you in the game!!

I apoligize to Ludlow, I under estimated their potential and only predicted winning by 25.
Keep kicking them while they're down, because of all people, you know they won't stay that way forever!!
-
Congrats to NCC on what sounds like a dominating win!! Maybe the Newport starters were still worn out from all the running they did in the 4th quarter of the Brossart game last week?? :D
-
Fans....this game will be a memory when the CATS beat ...yes LSU and Florida in the next 2 weeks! Mark it down!
Little too much "drowning your sorrows"????
-
Your crazy. Take away 14 points from USC's final score....
What does that get you? UK down 1.
A completely different game. A QB that really would have been playing from behind against UK. Again that's crazy to say that.
What are you saying?? Granted the TO's cost them, but when you come out only down 7 and your "D" holds the other team to -15, you've got Mr. Heisman at QB and you only manage 3 points--Pitiful!!
-
Spurrier's now 15-0 against UK.:madman:
And that's painful!!
-
Did you just start watching him for the first time tonight? He throws an excellent deep ball. Hard to throw when they aren't open. He overthrew the one time that I saw anyone open. He had a bad night, but so did a few other Cats.
No--But this is the first decent "D" I've seen him throw against this season, and he was never close deep?? You gotta admit he throws mostly dink & dunk stuff--Has a big arm, but so did "Shake & Blake" and he couldn't throw it it in the ocean!!
-
So everybody knows the DEFENSE played well tonight!!! And admit they did. 14 points given up by the offense.
The thing that led to this victory was USC was in the lead the entire night. If they were forced to play from behind, UK would have won.
I know, would have, could have, should have, BUT; UK's defense played good enough to win this one!
The "D" held SC to -15 yds in the 3rd quarter and lost the quarter 7-3--That lost the game for them IMO!!
-
Ludlow by 25 points. They in Ludlow at least know how to do somethings right. Brossart can not even run a decent practice yet, how do they expect to play the game.
Did you get cut by the Mustangs or what 59?? Kinda harsh on a first year varsity team aren't ya?? I think of your 40 posts, 39 have been slamming the Mustangs about something--WOW?? I know some teams that weren't competitive after decades of having a team, unless you've got a short memory??
-
How many time did you here tonight that there was nobody open downfield? He can throw the deep ball. He should have taken off and scrambled some though.
Most major college QB's can throw it deep, but can they get it near anyone?? I've not seen Woodson throw it deep with any accuracy against anyone decent?? He had multiple opportunities tonight to scramble and "make something out of nothing" but didn't--A Heisman hopeful should make those plays????

Good to see the Eagles get a breather for once. Congrats on a fine performance by Scott--Does this make next week's Dixie game more interesting??
