Hats off to Frankfort. They continued to play hard and came back after being 16 down to cut the 5 and had the ball with little over 2 minutes to play. Coach OBryan has them ready all week! Proud of the Panthers.

Congrats to the Panthers.

Congrats to Coach O and the Panthers!

Is there more to the story? Any players who have been out that returned recently? This is certainly an upset. Frankfort is now 9-12 on the year. Brossart drops to 15-3 with the loss.
Yes the Miklavcic kid was out with broken collar bone. He just getting back couple weeks ago giving them some depth.

Frankfort has been trying to find it's self. You don't lose what they lost last season and not struggle a little. Appears they are starting to figure it out. They are shooting the ball better and will need to do the same tomorrow.

I'm telling you Bobby P will get it turned around and get another shot somewhere. He already has been able to hire some coaches other than his family. I give him 3 seasons he will be back D-1.
-
It's my understanding interviews have been happening this week. Any word on who they hire?

Congrats to the Panthers.

From what I have watched over the years each region takes care of their own. What my biggest concern is how different the game is called from region to region. What officials watch for or focus on. Shouldn't be that much difference from region to region.
-
Touchdown. The official had clear view.

I was at the game. SK didn't have the legs to compete. Tates Creek did what they wanted because of SK lack of speed.

Did we get the best? I think that is the mistake we are making here in KY. When you look at the NCAA tournament the best teams are not always in the final 4. Think about how many of us root for the underdogs to pull off the upset. This is perfect example of what is wrong with the new RPI.
Think back to the magical run Bourbon County made. Bourbon wasn’t the best team going into the playoffs. Came down to field conditions, lady luck, and a group of kids playing their hearts out.
So, I don’t care if we have the best teams in the final 4. I want every team to believe they have a shot on any given night. I think this RPI is designed to out Cinderella runs. I like the old playoff format because you have a chance to prep all year for those teams that stand in your way.
Have you noticed no one seeds the Sweet 16! Time for the KHSAA to stop tweaking things.

It appeared to be rather sloppy in the last game against Crittenden County. I am all for moving the game to turf. Papa Johns would be just fine! I would say Cardinal Stadium but that turf is basically a thin rug over concrete.
I admit haven't seen KCD field this season. But knowing how well it is taken care of surprises me.
On side note Cardinal stadium is not an option. It is no longer standing.
-
Will be interesting to see where this game is played. Hearing rumors may be moving to turf.
KCD has an outstanding grass surface.
-
KCD has been successful because of their ability to be more physical than the teams they have played thus far. This will be the one game I think they will have someone able to match them. Both teams will be running the football and playing good defense.
On side note Class A semi finals is a big example how the KHSAA has it wrong when it comes to playoffs. Two teams will pass each other driving over 200 miles to play a game on Friday. If the KHSAA would left things alone Both teams would of had a 20-30 minute drive.
-
Congrats to Holy Cross and Bob Bronger.
-
KCD wins. Will be close early but Bearcats pull away after half.
KCD 42
Crittenden 18

Ponder at Williamsburg is a player.

Folks Broyles will play. Don’t think anything different.

Only complaint about new format is it takes away from teams that could host a regional and Semi-final. I like the idea of odd and even years of who gets to host. Now going to have potentially same teams always hosting the regional and semi-finals.

Was a much different game this time around. Score was 20-14 with 6 mins to go. Eminence has big punt return and with less that 3 minutes to go broke a long run. Hats off the Eminence they have a very nice team. Made plays needed and won field position in second half. First year coach doing really nice job.
As for Frankfort they grew up last 3 weeks of the season. Their 34 man roster loses 2 kids to graduation. They will return 32 kids with plenty of varsity experience. With what is returning for the Panthers next season I can see potential semi-final run.

Panthers roll for second win of the season.
