  1. Without getting "full of myself",or sounding that way. If Beechwood can put together a few games similar to last nights CCH game they may start to attract fringe players from outside the district to enroll there...similar to Highlands over the years and can become a player in the 9th, year in and year out. I am convinced of that.........with all the respect in the world. Ludlow is not a good comparision. You can compare size and thats it. Highlands is a much better comparison.

Just curious....how does one legally "attract fringe players from outside the district" in a public school? Would they not have to establish residency?

  2. How can you say he can't play at UC. Hicks is listed at 6'5"/ 6'6" and truthfully he is only 6'4"? If Rice can get to 6'6" there will be more teams looking at him than just UC. His touch around the basket is the best I've seen in 4 or 5 years from a 4 or a 5.

Henderson is very good. I wasn't sold on him until this week at the 5/3rd. He is a legit prospect and I would expect him to start getting looks this season by D-1 schools.

Tubby was at a few of the games this week at 5/3rd, I wonder if he saw this Holmes group play at all.

Hicks is definately taller than 6'4'', his 6'6'' listing sounds pretty accurate... But at this point if we are talking UC they would take him because they can't recruit anyone and they only have 9 scholarship guys!

  3. Clarks coach was thrown out after one technical because they got one for dunking before the game and they said that with 2 charged to the bench he had to leave  .... After this Bellevue jumped out to a lead, then Clark cut it to 64-61 when Wight from Bellevue fouled out with about 2 and a half minutes left. Bellevue struggled to do anything the rest of the way on and didn't score again until it was 69-64 Clark. The final margin comes because Clark stuggled a bit with foul shots at the end of the game... Bellevue was somewhat lost on the court without Wight...

  4. Well when you are that far down maybe the coach was trying some different combinations.

Bellevue will be okay once they get into the D3 part of the schedule. They won't go anywhere in the district unless they draw Dayton and draw opposite NCC, Highlands, and Newport. They probably won't have much success in the All-A either but its not like they won't win another game.

Who's so sure they will beat Dayton if they do draw them in the district? Cross town rival....Dayton is improving, and they haven't had the easiest schedule to date for a team trying to "re-build"

  5. I've never heard it used about Ludlow, I heard it about Dayton.

It is heard in Dayton too... but it doesn't really offend anyone anymore. It is just kind of associated with us now like Highlands and cake eaters. It just would be very good to do a positive chant using the word RATS like they do with cake.

Dayton and other river schools don't have to worry about hearing "River Rats" chanted because the only games with student cheering sections from the other teams are game against other rival river schools...

  6. Ammonds from Franklin Co should be the best QB.

Hesh from Newport is another nice player but I like Ammonds more right now then him or Petrino who has been mentioned from the QB spot.

I'd say Anderson, Clark and Ammonds are the frontrunners and the guys mentioned above could be in the mix. Hibbitt had a nice year going into the final game and I'm sure he'll have a big one next year.

Wes Caldwell from Lex Cath should be the top WR and Ben Revere the top DB but those positions don't usually get the award.

Newport will be pretty deflated. I think it will be hard for Hesch to duplicate his #'s from the past two season...
