When will the replay be shown, gt? I want to notify all my Beechwood friends and their fans who although there were more then usual there, it must be disappointing for the Tigers to see they get minimal support. Too bad, they may not have as good a team in sometime.. It was fun to watch the rather pained expression of my favorite Beechwood fan their in the front row as he realized his Tigers weren't going to get the victory tonight.
Ya know BZ... I think I might know exactly who you are talking about... If not I know someone like him...

I have to agree with you and the other post. I think fireplug got a little to carried away there. Logan is a great dribbler and fast but I dont even think he is faster than Lantry as you said. But Grant never stops running so that is what makes him so quick.. He really should be starting on the Varsity team right now because they need someone like him to give them a spark and energy. If he gets stronger and learns to be ALOT smarter with the ball then he will be a pretty good player that people will hear about.
So yeah I think Fireplug went a little overboard with all that stuff because it made him sound awesome right now. If that was the case Ludlow should be alot better than they are. Which by the way they should be better than they are right now anyways.
That sounds like the kind of kid you want coming off the bench first...

IMO last years game between South Laurel & PRP in the state semi's was a good game. Also the game between Mason Co. & Trinity in '04 State Tourney was a good one!
These two are the best high school games I have seen... You couldn't help but feel sorry for Spillman after his performance for PRP in that game when he was just layin' there on the floor after the buzzer sounded...
No lie here on the Mason game... I was there with my buddy and he looked at me with about 30 seconds left when Mason was down 6 and said "Lofton is going to hit two threes and they are going to overtime... Being the more logical of the two of us I look at him defiantly and said "No, their not"... He still brags about that one to this day...
-
Beechwood doesn't miss all those threes very often.... they become much more beatable when they are off from three land...
-
OJ is better because he is playing the position he will play for the rest of his life... to be what NBA wants him to be Walker has to make his J better and learn to slash more...
-
When is/was it? Pairings?
-
Duran Jefferson I would thing gets talked about most in the ninth... there are more good players but I would think he would get the most pub around the state... but I really am not sure, because I am not around the state...

Not saying he should be on this list of greatness yet, but Grant Logan of Ludlow is one of the best dribblers I have ever seen. Possible better dribbler than Jefferson. He hasn't yet developed the size or strength yet but definitely will. His brothers were all over 6 foot tall. Not as smart as Jefferson with the ball but definitely makes some kids fall down with quickness. Watch this kid developed when pressure is added when Penick leaves.
LOL... Logan is a solid JV guy and a solid reserve for Ludlow... No better than that right now... If he was as good as you make it sound, it wouldn't matter if he was a soph... No way he will be close to Jefferson anytime soon...

My problem is that it's not consistenly used, you have dominant refs, refs that aren't used to a 3 man rotation on a regular basis, the wrong ref making the call, either use 3 or use 2, don't mix and match.
Exactly... I don't care if it's two or three refs, but a referee needs to either be a 2 ref official or 3 ref official because guys that get used to calling 3 man games are good in those three man games but not as good when they have to do 2 man only games and vice versa...

what happened to NCC?

Final Score was?????

Henley is one of, if not my favorite coach in the 9th region.
Ok, but he needed to call a TO when they had the ball the other night and ended up turning it over at the end when DJ tried to throw it off the guys foot... But I guess all is well that ends well...

I'm sure his gig plays well to the Holmes crowd. Most of the time it was so loud I couldn't understand what he was saying. Sounds like he has a good strong voice just gets way to carried away IMO..
Someone is going to tell you its home court advantage...
Agree, Its annoying, but I have heard announcers twice as obnoxious...
-
You're probably right, but then again, its not like CovCath played to their full potential either based on the reports I've heard, and they almost pulled it out on the dawgs home floor.
Granted that I haven't seen CCH much... It just didn't look like they had enough scorers the other night when Holmes was clicking towards the end of the first half...
-
I completely respect your opinion, however, you are hard pressed to convince me he is better than their 4th best starter.
My opinion:
Best college prospect -- Austin Hill. A man.
Best player at this level (and at their position) -- Duran Jefferson.
Best athlete / game-changer -- Arrez Henderson.
It is very hard to look at it that way, because each would not be the same without the others... It would be very hard for those three guys to play at the level they do without Rice's post presence IMO...
-
IMO if Holmes plays to full potential both halfs then games against HHS/CCH are 10-12 point margins, they just didn't do it....
-
You are correct that he plays his role. My point is that some on here have projected the young man to be a D1 player. I didn't see that and have not seen it yet.
I'll add 'very' to 'good high school player'. He is not 'great'.
I'll agree here... to be D1 he does need to extend his range a little and grow about an inch or three...
-
what about Hill towards the end of the game... He was hobbling a bit, but seemed to be the only one that could hit free throws...
-
By the way... what was wrong with DJ at the begining of the game...
-
How quickly everyone forgets the state game last year... If you remember, when they started to skid against the big boys at Rupp was when their "good high school basketball player" fouled out... Hill Edmondson Henderson and Jefferson were all on the court and they couldn't score. Rice played big in the big time, he is better than a "good high school basketball player"... He does what is asked of him for his team... I don't think they exactly need another outside shooter...
-
Is the game supposed to be a sell out?
-
depends on if you have a cheering section...

What ever happened to the kid from John Hardin that was supposed to have a big year...
Who will win the 9th region?

If Holmes plays to their potential for four quarters, then I don't think anyone in the ninth can play with them... The biggest thing I observe them to be lacking is a true floor leader to calm them down when somthing goes wrong...
