We come from Russell and we are proud
We are not quiet, we are loud ,loud..loud
We come from Russell and we're the best
Cause we are better than all the rest..
We are the Devils !!!!!!!!
Just a cheer to brighten your day, it was this or ICE CREAM and CAKE & CAKE.......
Our cheerleaders are faster than yours! :jump:

WOW, and they still managed to go 13-1, and are playing in the State Championship game. They have to have the best coach in the nation.
I totally agree!
-
Catholic doesn't have any speed. They have no size. Their backs are slow. Defense is not physical. QB does not make good decisions. Their receivers rarely catch the ball.
So I guess the game will be boring.
I totally agree!

If you have seen Russell, Ft Campbell, and Trigg all three play in person I will take your word for it. Personally I have not seen the Western Ky teams except for highlights. I stand by my statement though. 1-11 I don't see any AA teams having better speed than Russell's. Maybe one or two players that are really fast, but 1-11 I don't think so.
O.K., okie dokie, alrighty then! :thumb:

Yet another post that says "Russell shouldn't even show up". I just don't understand why the Devils are booking the buses for the trip, or paying for the hotel for Friday night. Sounds like it would be better to just save the money for a worthy cause.

LOL - after reading all of these posts, I bet Ivan McGlone wishes he had some athletes with some stamina, instead of all of the asthmatic kids that have to wear corrective shoes and suffer from scoliosis.
I'd be willing to bet that some of the kids that play for Russell don't even realize just how out of shape they are. Poor fools...
No question about it - it'll be like lambs to the slaughter.

I don't think Catholic had any problems with Ft.Campbell D Line. They had over 189 yards rushing against Ft.Campbell. Something nobody has done this year. In the Trigg game they had only 121 yards, according to the Messenger-Inquirer and alot of that was Woodward, but rushing yards are rushing yards. Anyway, I don't think a Athletic D-Line will be a problem for Catholic. Especially if Catholic's O-Line is considered the best in AA, if not the best in KY. Oh one kid going both ways and Russell has 7. That is going to be trouble.
I totally agree, I bet Russell is spent by midway thru the 3rd quarter. If they are then the romp will be on!

Russell will be the most physical team that Ocath will play this season write that down.
Man how many times have I heard this over the last 3 weeks! We have been playing the most physical team we will see all year since the 2nd round of the playoffs. I'm glad that is 1 less thing we have to prepare for.

How about John Edge at Owensboro Catholic, he has his team in the final 4 for the 2nd straight year after losing a D1 QB and nearly all of his receiving core. He was the area coach of the year and may be the best game planner in the state. Did I mention that he is only 29 years old.
-
It's the same story with OC that it is every week. If they protect their QB, which I think they will, and if they do not turn the ball over which I think is possible. Then they beat anyone in 2a. They are good enough to win the whole thing if they concentrate and take care of the football. I think they will beat DeSales 35-14 if they play turnover free football.
-
So what's the correct situation ?? Did OCath catch Ft. Campbell with their drawers down in the process of changing personnel or what ?? This is the first mention of this kind of thing....
Catholic did not catch them changing personnel. What you have to understand is that Catholic always fakes a hard count on 4th down and tries to draw a team off sides. Then they call timeout and punt, this time they just saw that FC was a little laid back waiting for Catholic to give the ball back to them. They were totally not expecting this and got burned for it. That is what happened.
-
And much of that from the Owensboro Catholic camp ...
I just say it like it is. FC had all kinds of weapons. The hype came from every newspaper article that previewed 2A. They had it all except a QB who could throw it with any consistency. They also were poorly conditioned. Their skill players were as good as advertised, but they took a physical beating last night, and in the 4th qurt. it cost them the game. I still say that they have way more individual talent than we do, but as far as game planning and executing that game plan our coaching staff can flat put it together and they put our kids in the best possible positions to execute it.
-
Will our QB stay here? I hope so he can be awsome the next two years!
Why, is he considering leaving?
-
You guys have been hanging out with Rambo for too long. Fort Campbell has a nice team and some nice talent, but seven D-1 prospects might be laying it on a bit thick.
And doesn't Owensboro Catholic have some D-1 prospects, albeit for other sports, especially baseball? That alone means that this team has talent and athleticism.
Yeah, from the Owensboro Catholic people. Talk about a self-fulfilling prophecy.
When has anybody here called Owensboro Catholic "overrated?" In the western Kentucky poll, I've rated the Aces second (behind Fort Campbell and ahead of Trigg County and Mayfield) for weeks. As far as I'm concerned, they are exactly where they should be.
Nice talent, I would say it is awesome talent! I don't no how Coach Edge will even begin to game plan for this Division II college team. They have only allowed 50 something points all year!
As far as OC's D-1 prospects. Baseball doesn't start until March and this game will be long over and forgotten about by then.
I will give you your due, you have rated OC 2nd most all season. We always appreciate the love.

Welcome to the board Lou Holtz!
I love Lou Holtz!

I, too think the 03 team was better, but, fact is,theres still no trophies to show for it, therefore making this year a must win situation...Like you said, the talent level was better in 03, just like the talent level at Ft Campbell is better this year...I can't really say either team choked, it just so happened they ran into a hot team in Glasgow last year and Webster the year before...
Also, Ft Campbell already has a state championship or 2 in there trophy case, so, imo, the pressures on OC to get one...
I know this is hard to understand but there is no pressure on OC because their administration has no expectations of ever winning a state championship. Their coach and players do certainly, but their is no pressure other than what may be self imposed by coaches and players to win a state title in any sport. The administration thinks it would be nice but they really don't expect it. Now whether that is good or bad is left to debate. I personally think that it is bad, but it is reallity at Owensboro Catholic.
-
I think Fort Cambell will get beat this Friday... An as for You don't think my team can play with them, what did we do to your team last year??? Don't bash people if you don't have a leg to stand on... They may be a couple teams in the East that are down, but the east as a whole is far from down....
Your livin in the past pal. Ft. Campbell will not get beat this year. Especially by you.
-
Belfry has won the State championship 2 years straight, an your going to say the east is down??? I hope you guys keep thinking that we are down, that way when we smash your mouths 3 years in a row, it will be that much better...
Hey Napolean,
All We care about right now is Ft. Campbell. Haven't you heard about them. I doubt your team could play with them. If by some miracle we win at the Fort this Friday and then win next week then we will talk about your team. As for now there is only 1 unsefeated team in 2a and that is Ft. Campbell.
-
Owensboro Catholic almost exclusively plays one way. Maybe 1 lineman but he is platooned.
-
Are you guys serious? There is no way that OC should be able to compete with the Fort this year. They have up to 7 D-1 prospects on their team as well as the probable Mr. Football. We have 0 D-1 prospects outside of maybe Millay. " HEY FORT CAMPBELL THERE IS NO WAY THAT THIS OC TEAM HAS ANY BUSINESS PLAYING WITH YOU." Good luck with your undefeated season! It's certainly expected of you!
-
Noone ever claimed Trigg or Ft campbell as the standard setter for all of rgn 1 either...
Ah come on wildcatjack we all know that deep down inside you are a true Owensboro Catholic fan and that you bleed GREEN!
-
I really hope that Corbin and O catholic win out. I would love to see a rematch of last years semi- state finals. The Corbin folks travel well and would make for a great atmosphere at Rash Stadium. :irked:

This season's Fort Campbell is a much more physical football team than any of the Falcons teams of the past couple of years. Is there anyone, that's seen Ft. Campbell, that will agree with me on the above statement?
They are absolutely more physical this year! I honestly think that if they don't win the state championship this year then it will be the biggest dissapointment in 2A history. They have that many weapons and that much hype. That being said carrying the burden of an undefeated season carries a heavy pressure that alot of teams seem to crack under, ala O Catholic in 2003. We will see how it plays out as the pressure mounts from week to week.
