  1. I'm not mad at you ThinThirty. I'll never vote against Boyle County and I won't stop promoting Rees MacShara for Mr. Football regardless of whether he has a bad game or not. Nothing wrong with loyalty at all.

I'm not mad at anybody, I'm just really frustrated this year. Even though I know the Ads are young and what ever else this year I also think they are not playing up to their potential, and there is a lot of discussion that could be done about that, I guess all that will come in the off season. I really thought a new attitude had emerged this year with the team, bottom line is they are just not aggressive enough, and I don't think "light" to "no" contact in practice is good. I played for Tom Duffy we had 28 players, our practices were "full contact" and "wide open" except for thursdays before games, and we lit people up on defense. I can see the offense this year taking time to develope but the defense has been embarassing and pathetic! But I still love the Admirals and will support them.

  2. I see that Boyle is a head in the predictions. Is the 2 that voted for Danville the same 2 that voted for Mercer? I was lucky when I guessed the Boyle/Mercer score last week. But I think that Danville will score on us this week. With that said Boyle will score the same as last week if not more.

    Boyle 59

    Danville 14

I was the one of those who voted for Danville, I played for Danville and am an Admiral thru and thru, it doesn't matter who their opponent is I will never vote against them. Enough said.:madman:

  3. I have to admit I'm a little shocked that Danville is ranked as high as they are, They lost some good players from the third best team in the Region, yet they start the season ranked higher than both the teams that were better than them, and to be honest I feel Monroe and Green are better than them in 09 as well, nothing against Danville as I'm sure they will get better as the season goes on but right now I think they should be in the 9-13 range in 2A…

I think we will be better able to rate Danville after this week against Franklin Co. and better yet after they play Corbin the next game. My hope is they show vast improvement which depends on getting some players back 100%. I would imagine that #7 ranking has something to do with past history. Things should be clearer in a few weeks.

  4. After reading the advocate messenger today, it said both of Danville's 1st and 2nd quaterbacks are day to day. Thay been practicing as though the Freshman Q-back will start, and he is limited with not having a lot of reps in practice until this week. He is big, strong and athletic though, and definitely has the best passing ability. I'll take the Ads in this one 28-14.:dancingpa

  5. I think God clearly gives each parent the responsibility to raise their children in the admonition of the Lord. My challenge to everyone reading this post, is to read the Bible and study it. Does what you are practicing religiously square with God's word, Or do you just go to your place of worship and rely on what someone else tells you is correct, its very easy to do.

  6. Who will be their leader? I just dont see it happening this year :idunno:

Will Dunn is the leader, hopefuly his hamstring isn't too bad. They need to focus on the defense. IMO they need to be attacking on defense, too many times it seems they are waiting and catching the ball carrier instead of attacking and driving him back. If they are playing a team with a good Q-back attack and pressure him, don't sit back and let him pick you apart or break you down.

  7. Danville did have a bad night. I hope practice will cure alot of the problems. I know in the past Danville has looked rough during pre-season scrimmages. This was just their second outing facing an opponent this year, and I know they didn't get very much contact in practice this summer, it's funny how that old football will pop out of your arms when someone lays a lick on you. With that being said maybe the Ads can make a marked improvement against Franklin County Saturday at the Bob Allen Pigskin Classic. I hope our Q-backs are back Saturday.

  8. That is a profoundly true statement. As I noted earlier in the thread, the perception of "running it up" can devestate the loser or motivate them in a positive and powerful way.

After the Harrodsburg win of 60-0 in '77, Boyle shut out Harrodsburg for three consecutive years and ran up a scoring margin of 50-0 over the next 3 seasons.

After Danville Beat Boyle 60-6 (?) in '98, the Rebels defeated the Ads 75-3 in the next two games. :thumb:

True, I just hate being on the down side when it comes back around.

  9. :lol::lol::laugh:

I hope we make them all back out like Henry Clay, Southwestern, Johnson Central, etc. did. I hope they all back out. There is always someone who wants to play.:D:thumb:

You guys have a great team this year, and I think you will also handle Danville with out any problem. But just remember enjoy it while you can, because "What comes around usually goes around!":thumb:

  10. If a rivalry would develop between Mason County and Danville that would definitely be a good thing for the Royals!

I think it would be good for both teams, If Danville can get back to their championship level, which is probably a year away, Then we could have a Barn Burner. But I'm not even sure how the contract between the two schools will be. Will Mason County come to Danville next year?

  11. Well I'm just wondering, I've read on many other threads that the Qb was sick, and now reading your thread about him being injured?

I'd just like to know what happend to him, to had made him sit out?

From what I've heard it was both. Probably the Ham-string is what kept him from returning. I just hope he gets better fast he is the main cog in the offense and a great team leader.

  12. Like I said in an earlier post, Congratulations to Mason County, but please be kind don't get to upset about what the Danville paper has in it. I also beleive that if our starting Quater Back had not of gotten injured the score wouldn't have been so bad. Because simply I think we would have scored more and held on to the ball longer, thus not giving your very good Q-back and efficient offense the opportunity to dismantle the Danville defense the way it did. Like I said I think every one is disappointed in the defense, but I think they will redeem themselves with some hard work at practice. The comments about not giving Mason County credit bother my competitive spirit and makes not only myself, but I hope every Admiral fan want the opporunity next year for the rematch at home with Mason County. I think next year will definately be a different story.:walk:

  13. No one has commented on my earlier opinion, was it just me or did Danville seem extremely small and young?. I sat in their cheering section and Dunn came up lame after his long run, they were streching him on the sideline(hamstring or sprain maybe), there were no signs of him being sick watsoever, the coaching staff seemed a bit miffed that he wasn't able to go back in right away.

I'm not sure of any engery, maybe I'll found out more today. Danville's radio anouncers said that coach Harp had said Will Dunn had been sick going home early one day and coming in late friday. I just assumed that long run probaly affected him already being weak. As for the ads being small, they aren't the biggest team around, they may have just looked smaller because of Mason County's size. I heard your receivers and Q-back were all tall. Also, Danville's Players are relatively young and inexperienced, but I think thry have a ton of potential. They only have about 8 or 9 seniors. I'm hoping they can keep their confidence thru this difficult first part of the schedule and be much more polished when district play starts. I watched them practice this summer and they didn't get much contact practice in. I think they just need a lot of reps with the offense and hold on to the ball. The defense disappointed me the most, even though the offense wasn't clicking, they should of been able to slow Mason County down.

  14. Congratulations to Mason Co. Danville flush this one and forget it. Young team couldn't hold on to the ball. Mason County has a good team and the Ads made it easy for them. Though I don't think Danville would have won the game, I do think it would have been closer and more competitive if Will Dunn Danville's first string Quaterback had not got sick and left early in the second quater. The radio guys said he had been sick for two days prior to the game and just couldn't go. The Adversity early and losing Will their was no chance to come back. Maybe if Mason County comes to Danville next year the Ads can give them a little more competition.

  15. I just read the preview for Mason County sounds like they have an experienced team, sounds like a good quaterback. My question is how good can he scramble and be elusive. Mercer County's QB hurt Danville in their srimmage by spreading the field and then making big gains out of nothing. If he can't do that, I don't think he will be the Ads with his arm. Danville is quick as lightening and good speed once they turn the corner. If the Ads can hold on to the football and not turn it over, I'll take Danville in a hard fought battle 14-7.:walk::walk:

  16. Danville looks good for the amount of time they have had to prepare, they were excited and played with emotion, they may take a few lumps early. But I look for them to get better each week and go far in the playoffs, just need to stay healthy. if Danville's team stays together with the sophmore and junior talent on the team, they will be plain nasty next year.:dancingpa

  17. I think those people will be there, hopefuly more will join them. I think Danville's long run of winning, and oddly there not so whole hearted performances the past two years has affected peoples dedication to coming to the games. I'm not saying I agree with their decisions, but it has been frustrating at times to be an Admiral fan. I myself go to most every game I can. I think this years team will have more grit and want to win.

  18. I'm not sure that a low response to this thread is an accurate measure of the interest in Danville football. Every time I go by the practice field it is loaded with people watching practice. We'll see once the season starts.:walk:

  19. As has been said before, it is going to be hard to get an experienced proven coach at this late date, I think Shadon has a good foundation and back ground. He has been associated with the some good coaches and programs and this may be the opportunity he needs to prove himself. I know Mercer County is interested, its just up to the school officials now. I hope everything works out well for all involved. It would be good for our area to have a continued solid program at Mercer.

  20. I agree Danville has made some bad turn overs, but their defense has been weak all year compared to Admiral standards. Normally if Danville was having trouble scoring they could count on the defense to keep the game under control. In the past if they had a crucial turnover the defense could come in and keep the other team from scoring. The Admiral offense was good this year, if that had been backed up with the Danville defense of years past we would be talking State Title this year. I hope they can get it figured out for next year.:irked:
