You're banking all your marbles on their mindset???? I'm fairly confident that 99.9% of all championship teams have the "mindset" that they can win the state championship. But it takes more than that or Pike Central would have a AA title. They've had it in their mind that they were capable of beating Belfry every year for the past 5 years.

Sometimes your vast knowledge of football overwhelms me and sometimes it makes me wanna laugh. This post has a little of both.

All I was saying is that this year's LC team doesn't have a Tim Couch, a Dan Baker, a Ricky Hensley, a Scott Brock, etc. But you guys don't play in AAA either, so if the stars alignment is right Leslie Co. could make it to the state title. Personally, I doubt it. But my point is that this up and coming club would get wiped out buy the '94 & '95 Leslie Co. club. The main reason being Tim Couch, but thats just my opinion.

If Middlesboro is the team to beat, then all of mountain football is in trouble. I know they were young last year, but they are still gonna be young this year. Heck, our JV roughed them up pretty good in the 2nd round last year. Before you get too mad, I think Belfry is a year away from serious contention, too. I look forward to the year Belfry, Russell, Prestonsburg, Middlesboro, and Breathitt Co. are hitting on all cylinders in the same year. It may not happen for a while, but boy it would be fun.

Ask him about the talent, but don't be mad if he hurts your feelings.

I really, really doubt they have talent than the '94 team. And I seriously doubt they are as talented as the '95 team. But only time will tell.

I'm not comparing Belfry to Warren Central, IN of two years ago.......but how many times did they throw the ball? They routed everyone they played from what I hear. I'm just saying that most high school teams are either run dominate or pass happy. They may be 90 pass -10 run or 80 run-20 pass, but the offense is focused to one or the other just the same. If I reversed what you are saying Zin, it would be like saying Breathitt Co. '02 wasn't any good because all they did was pass the ball. Thats not true by any means, but you never hear anyone say that about strictly passing teams. Why????? IMO, because it IS more fun to watch, even to me.

How many passes did St. X and Highlands combined complete during their title game wins? In high school football, teams that run the ball win the majority of the time. Actually, in all levels if you have no running game you basically have no shot at winning.

Sarcasm in that post, Fletch??? Ft. Campbell has all the talent to win it all, but they have for the past two seasons. Belfry is young and I think they are one year away from being a legitimate title contender again. But who knows? Prestonsburg has a good shot if they can stop their losing streak to Belfry. The district game between the two may determine who represents Region 4 Dostrict 8 in the Semi-finals. Russell, IMO, based on what they are returning could be the favorite to represent the east. But like Belfry, they lost their key player(s) to graduation. As always, it will be wide open in the East. The West has seemed to have a flat-out favorite the past two seasons only to see them fall before the big dance (O'Cath in '03 & Ft. Campbell in '04). Should be entertaining to say the least.

Thats what I was saying, but after really thinking about it I can't think of 5 teams on their schedule that could definitely beat them. Especially since they dropped Bell Co. They did drop them, right???? I still say a 2nd round loss in the playoffs is coming.

I'm curious to see how they do. Personally, I think they will end up 6-6.

It goes along the same lines GT was saying, I think. There aren't very many 4A schools in EKY (only 3 that I know of), and not very many 2A in NKY. Is that what you were saying GT???

Totally slips my mind when discussing 2A in most cases. Mostly becaue NKY is SO strong in 1A & 3A.

By the way......I like the Belfry/Prestonsburg winner to play against a tough Russell in the semi-finals. The winner of that game will lose a heartbreaker to Ft. Campbell.

In the East.......Belfry, Breathitt Co., Prestonsburg, Middlesboro, & Russell are the top tier teams year in and year out. Middlesboro had a down year this past season, but they shoud be alright later. In the West, to the best of my knowledge.........Corbin, O'Cath, Glasgow, Bardstown, & Ft. Campbell are usually really good.

How unfortunate. My prayers go out to them all.

Biggest District Rival - Prestonsburg Team I'd like to beat the Most - Ironton, OH Team I most dislike - Breathitt Co. Team that hears it the most when we beat them (and vice-versa) - Pikeville I had to somehow get all four of those guys in there.

Westsider, I agree with you about the recruiting part and I don't know if Robbins runs a legit 4.4 40 but the kid can fly! He is really small though. If he ways 160 I'd be surprised. If he isn't getting recruited I'd say that is the reason.
