  1. This game shocked me. Ashland handled Ironton fairly easily last year by a score of 26-12, I believe and it didn't seem that close. Ashland appears to be an improved team this year. Ironton struggles a bit with Russell and Ashland destroys Russell. By all indications Ashland appeared to be a favorite entering this game. Ironton was clearly better prepared physically and mentally for this game and really wanted it more than Ashland. It is never an embarrassment to lose to Ironton but I NEVER saw this score coming. It will be interesting to see how Hart's team regroups. I expect them to come back strong but probably as an overall contender. Just my perspective.

  2. Titleist woods, Calloway Fusion irons, play at Bellefonte in Ashland, current handicap 3, play as often as possible maybe 3 or 4 times a week in good weather. Golf is the greatest game, I have heard a thousand times "I wish that I started when I was younger". I was fortunate to come from a golf family and have played nearly all my life. I feel like I have come full circle-I now play at the club where my father grew up as a caddie boy in the 1930's and early 40's to make money for his family. Thanks Dad!

  3. My opinion-Russell was, indeed, in complete control of the game when he got the idol from JT/Heroes. He had the Heroes confidence as well as his own tribes. Just hold onto the idol quietly("JT, I didn't need to play it"). He let his ego get in the way and now he and Parvati have left themselves wide open. I think the Heroes will now take complete control. Sandra is the key person know.

  4. If you are staying at the Wynn, you should try to see "Jersey Boys" right across the street at the Palazzo-fantastic show! I would also rocommend seeing one of the Cirque du Soleil shows. Also, if you want to get away from the strip, head out to Red Rock Canyon for a half day venture, well worth the time.:thumb:

  5. I thought I'd share some pictures from my trip to the Masters. We (our old buddy diggerphelps and a couple other friends) were there for Monday's pratice round. It is an amazing place and if you like golf, even just a little, you have to go.

I've been to Augusta and knew exactly where every picture was except the first one-that one must be the new driving/practice range-correct?

  6. Here is my simple way to speed up play and I am sure most of you won't agree at all. Instead of 3 strikes to K or 4 balls to walk, make it 2 and 3, respectively. Batters and pitchers will have to be ready to go from the first pitch. Starters will be able to pitch more innings, less relievers will speed up the game, I see no real downside.

Another way would be that the batter must enter the batters box at the direction of the umpire and can't exit the box, he must be prepared to hit at all times. The pitcher just throw the ball within an specified time(sort of a time clock) or he is assessed a ball. If you keep the batter in the box and the pitcher throwing, the game WILL speed up.

  7. When my wife and I did Chicago(and a Cubs game) we stayed at the House of Blues Hotel downtown. This motel overlooked one of the rivers, had a H of B restaurant and a short walk from Michigan Ave, Harry Carry's, etc. It's worth looking into.

  8. I am calling it a toss up. I saw Turner in person last week against Michigan. He is a great all around "team" player and he does have some talent around him. For 6' 7", he is very smooth off the dribble and seems like a class act. One Wall item not mentioned is how many games he has taken over at the end to secure or pull out a win-probably 4 or 5. I suggest Co-winners!

  9. I also wondered about that. It was definitely weird seeing one player walking to the tunnel on his own. I thought it was kind of disrespectful to not only Clemson, but to his own teammates and coaches.

Agreed! Locke has been a little too loose with his lips at time. This time I think his actions spoke loudly. You should never, ever, leave the field before a game is over. It's almost like turning your back on your teammates, not to mention poor sportsmanship toward your opponent. If he comes back, I think an apology would certainly be in order.

  10. Is that the next one, heroes v villains? I did not get to see the end of the reunion, therfore I missed out on what the next one was going to be.

Heroes vs. villains starts in February, I think. They did not show any of the participants. Not sure if Russel will be in it or not. I hope so.

  11. Come on. If Russell was the obvious winner, then why is he not a million dollars richer. Remember that we only get to see the edited show. We do not see how he interacted off the camera or what Natalie did off the camera. Mick even commented after the final challenge that that was the first time that Russell ever collected wood for the fire.

I agree Russell was more cerebral (no question about that). But keeping a small target is a legit strategy. There have been several winners that would agree.

Ok, I can agree that we do not know went on other than the edited version. The edited version is, indeed, all we have to go by. Since that is all we had to go by, then the assumption is that they included all the critically important happenings. Russel truly seemed to be the survivor who was "extremely involved" to say the least. Natalie, who I thoroughly liked and could hardly find fault with, played the game extremely passively compared to Russel. For goodness sake he found, I believe, 3 idols without clues, that's never remotely happened before. He manipulated the game from beginning ot end according to the edit.He played the game as well as anyone ever has. Natalie won to me because she was likable, which she truly was(I really liked her, believe me!) and Russell lost because he made his opponents look so bad. I couldn't believe someone never took the lead, late in the game, to get rid of Russell, if Natalie would have done that, she would have been deserving of the winner but she did not. Also, I couldn't understand why Mick apparently did not get any votes. In the end Russel shouldn't have taken a beautiful, extremely likable girl with him to the final three. Ok, I have said enough. Merry Christmas to all!

  12. Russel should have won, he played the best game in Survivor History!

I agree completely, Russel was the hands down, no brainer winner in this one. It was really disappointing to me that he did not win. He was great entertainment. Glad he at least go the $100k from the fans.:thumb:

  13. I personally hate the play where the player jumps up, catches the ball and calls time out. The worst play in all of basketball!:madman: What I really hate about this play is when the referee rules the ball/player was out of bounds, going against the player attempting to call a time out. The referee then gives the ball out to the other team without assessing a time out when the player clearly signaled for a TO. If the officials would assess a time out then maybe this play would go away. Shouldn'T the official assess a timeout in this situation???

  14. Go see a Broadway play-the half price ticket booth is in the middle of Times Square. Eat at Bubba Gump's overlooking Times Square. Go to Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, not at all overrated in my book. There is a Madam Touso's Wax Museum just off Times Square. Check out Central Park for sure, but have some sort of plan-it is HUGE. Go to the Top of the Empire State Building for the great view. Take a tour of Madison Square Garden. Eat a hot dog from a stree vendor. Fantastic place, lots to do, enjoy.

  15. Maybe my all time favorite "sports related" movie. It was probably more about life that football. I think it's a must see. Tim McGraw-I thought he did very well, my wife and I didn't even realize it was him till late in the movie. Sandra B is outstanding on all levels.:ylsuper:
