Corgratulations Russell on a great win !!

The City of Newport was 24-4 this year with a state championship. Could have been 2 state titles. Newcath wins state and Newports only losses were to the 1A and 2A state champs. Great year for the breds and the entire city football wise.
Yes this just goes to show how strong the junior football programs in Campbell County are with quality teams at Bellevue, Highlands, Newport and The 1a STATE CHAMPIONS NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC THROUGHBREDS . All these schools are within a radius of 5 miles of each other. :dancingpa

Don't understand the logic at all here. I believe that any coach that wants to forfeit a game is a coach who has no confidence in his team his school or his coaching. We played a private school friday night. I know one thing you can't be scared of a school with the last name catholic. Look you have to play the privates it is just a fact but you do have to play them and you play the game to win. I always would like to play a private school because if you were to knock them off that would be huge to your team your school and to the public schools.
You know what the fans at NCC think that it was just as huge a win to beat a team that was as good as Somerset ! It got our boys into the State Finals and that is huge .

Here is an interesting article. Note the heavy use of sarcasm by the writer.

This guy ought to get a life . It's just a load of sour grapes and whining because there won't be any Title Town team in the finals this year . :irked:

Thanks Guru

Boy oh Boy, Hard work really does pay off and complaining instead of changing your habits really doesn't. I love it. I hope there is 25,00 at the Friday game and 15,000 combined the next day. I hope it is a clean sweep. The privates are outnumbered and have no say so I guess it is best to say it on the turf this weekend at the Pizza Box.

Without going into too many details, the rumor is that Lexington Catholic's probation is a result of a middle school kid getting rewarded an academic scholarship, when the students' scores were not quite up to par. So basically, the students' scores were not judged by the same criteria that the others were.
I do not think that this goes on very often, but when it does there should be some type of punishment. FWIW, I am a private school graduate & supporter.
Stop spreading the rumors and just cite the facts . When will the Khsaa release the facts in this case if ever?
-
Point blank...an academic scholarship was awarded to a middle school kid who had nowhere near the grades to garner such aid based on academic prowess.
Where and when Please?

Me and my youngest son will be there saturday.

Perhaps you have flashbacks of Somerset Beating NCC last year in the all A classic on a last second buzzer beater
Last year in Basketball is ancient history .

10%? The majority of the things I heard at the ballgame last night from the other side of the stands were terrible. Not exactly something you would expect from the fans of a religion-affiliated private school. One loud mouth fan on the internet is a whole different thing from a legion of fans in person.
I was there at the game and I did not hear anything bad coming from the Ncc section of the stands. Perhaps you have "rabbit ears"

Why not just take the "need based tuition" or Scholarship out of the private schools and lets see what happens. If so many of yours athletes are paying to go to that school then what would be the problem. This would make everyone i imagine much happier and make it easier to deal with. Plain and simple, if any kid cant afford a private school education out of pocket without help then let them go to the publics with everyone else whether their are an athlete or not. Now what would be wrong with that idea?
So your solution would be "Let them eat cake"

Here are some interesting articles about Title IX here in NKY.

Good Fortune for the kid . Did he apply for an academic scholarship? Is he an excellent student? Was there competition for the scholarship?

That field has been NC/NCC's home field for over 40 years and we are grateful to NHS for letting us share it. Both teams had to play there. Go Breds!!!
