  1. I don't think anyone took your post to be anything but complimentary of Raclenad, and we appreciate it.

I think people were just pointing out that sometimes we compare scores of like opponents and that is never a good idea, like said, Vanderhoof will rarely ever beat an opponent by more then 35 points. That is just the way he coaches and I admire him for it.

No problem on our part, and thanks for you comments about Raceland. I know the team appreciates it.

Thanks to all who responded. Coach Vanderhoof is a class guy. I agree the overall stats should be taken into consideration and not just the scores. But regardless I pick the Rams by a bunch.

  2. Racelands point total may be misleading. Except for Russell the Rams had the JV in in the 3rd quarter. Coach Hoof never puts up a big score if not needed.

I hope you don't think that I was implying that Raceland was "running" up the score. I was making a point how good the Rams are. If they have scored all those points with the second and third string then that just makes my post more valid.

  3. I guess it just depends on which side you want to believe. For the ball to thrown against a wall in the gym this happened in it had to be thrown very hard. The coach might want to be a baseball coach with a arm like he could throw bp.

It was thrown harder than it should have been. But it was from the scorers table and it took one bounce before it hit the wall.

  4. I go to alot of different sporting events and have seen alot of stupid things over the the years. I have seen alot of players do unsports'man like things and the majority of time the referee or coach handles the problem. But when its the coach that does it in the manner that i witnessed last night something needs to be done. Me and my family were at a 7th grade middle school basketball game and the coach from the home team did not agree with a call on the court. At the same time he was arguing with the referee he picked up the basketball and held it for a few seconds. The teams were at the opposite end of the floor to his bench. He then looking right at one of the opposite team players standing in front of her bench he threw let me say that agin threw not tossed the basketball at this player. It passed a few inchs from her head and then still had enough velosity to hit the opposite wall and bounce back. Ok you can pick your chins of the floor. This type of stuff can not happen your going to have the referees and coachs arguing the coachs arguing but leave the young ladys out of it. He received a technical but he should have been removed. Like i said a sad state of affiars. I have my own thoughts on what i witnessed last night but ill keep my mouth shut

I was at this game and will say without a doubt the ball was not thrown at a player. There wasn't a player within 10 feet of the ball. Do I agree with what was done no way. Should he have been thrown out of the game no. The refs made the right call and got things back in order. Trust me no player at anytime was in danger.

  5. Verity had a 7th grade team last year that just lost 1 game. They won the ovc big school division. At tryouts the 7th grade had 21 girls showup they kept 12. If you do the math we could still have a team without the 3 girls who left Rose Hill to come to verity. We had over 40 girls go out for the 2 teams last spring pretty good numbers.

Does this mean that there are 3 girls who have played in the Ashland school system in grade school not going to get to play in middle school because of transfers? I recall this was a big deal with the whole Region when OJ and friends attended Rose Hill.

  6. One of the best phones I have had was the Motorola StarTak. Of course the best phone for signal strength was the "bag"phone(I still have one). But now I have about 3 Nokias that I switch the SIMcard around. All I use a cell phone for is to talk. But I admit I have gotten into texting.

  7. I have seen a play when Team B makes a basket and Team A is attempting to throw in the ball and a player from Team A steps out on the base line and the player with the ball will pass it to him then step in bounds and receive a pass from the player that he just threw it to. The refs didn't call anything so I figured this is legal. Maybe the ref called 5 seconds.
