Sounds like South Laurel is poised to take it away....
-
No details, only the score from the King of the Bluegrass website. Good showing for Warren Central in the tournament. They beat some pretty good teams, and their only loss is to a very talented and athletic John Hardin team.
-
10.Barren County(3-0)
Key win(s):Ohio County 62-56,@ AC-Scottsville 43-39.
Respectfully, there is no way the Trojans a Top 10 team. The win you don't have on there was a 48-47 win at Metcalfe County, which has no business being a one point win for any top 10 team.

Warren Central lost to St. X and Bowling Green, two runners-up.
12-0 against competition that wasn't in the state championship game....

Lexington Catholic was the better team, IMO, but Bowling Green is far from terrible. The truth is that LexCath took advantage of Bowling Green's weakest point: their offense. They have some passing ability, but when it gets down to it their bread and butter is the run. LexCath shut them down in the first half with the exception of the one drive. Addtionally, the defense makes very few, if any mistakes. LexCath was able to drive on Bowling Green for a couple of scores, in the first half, but of the first 35 points for LexCath, 21 were directly a result of Bowling Green offensive mistakes. Three fumbles, two returned for touchdowns, one took two plays after to get a TD. There are few, if any that will return from that.
And yeah, I'd say that the likes of Hopkinsville and Warren Central would take issue with the "no good teams" rip.

Can they? You bet! They certainly returned the talent to do so. Will they? I'm going to say no, because it just seems like every year something happens to prevent it. The year after LexCath won they were essentially the same team (the year after that too for that matter) and they didn't even make the Sweet 16. Lofton was supposed to be able to do it the year after Mason won, and ran into a Central team that finally put it together. People compare the South Laurel team of last year to that Central team. Just came out on fire and took it to them. Long winded way of saying that someone will stop them, just don't know who yet.

Could this Catholic sweep solidify the case for the seperate playoff for private schools?
Catholics did not sweep. You can thank Russell for breaking the sweep up.
-
About time they made something happen!

From what I'm hearing, this just sounds completely uncharacteristic of the BG team I've watched this year. The personal fouls, the delay of games, etc. LexCath is a good team and caused all of this, but still, it's very uncharacteristic.
-
I don't think anyone expected this.
-
Fumble recovery run in for TD, ouch.
-
Screen pass good up to the LC 46 yard line.
-
LexCath takes over from their 36 yard line.
-
Want some help?
I'd kinda like to go watch the UK game......
-
LexCath is going to choose to make Bowling Green rekick it from their own 35.
-
Punt goes to the LexCath 25 yard line, there is a penalty on the play.
Preliminary is interference on BG.
7:48 remaining.
-
No gain on 3rd down for BG from the 50, 4th and 3.
They're going to punt.
-
Hibbit gain of 1, 3rd and 3 from the 50.
8:42 remaining.
-
Hibbit up to the BG 49 yard line, 2nd and 3.
-
OK, I guess I'm going to keep going.
LexCath goes 3 and out, punts away, BG takes over at their own 42 yard line.
-
Is there a webcast for the game, if so anyone have a link?
There is, though there is a slight delay.

If you'd like to take over from here 'Haze, I could use a break!
-
Excellent answer for the Purples!
-
PAT is good! 7-7 with 10:16 remaining in the half.

You could get whiplash from watching South Laurel fly by Mason County. 14 straight points, no Royal points in the last 4 minutes.
