This is a pretty fun site to compare teams. Please note that I'm just sharing it so I can't answer any questions. What is KFPI?The 120 Media Kentucky Football Power Index — KFPI — estimates team strength across all six Kentucky classifications using game results, opponents and scoring margins. The model evaluates teams together: beating a strong opponent carries more weight than beating a weak one. It also accounts for home field and limits the benefit of running up the score. An undefeated record matters, but the competition behind that record matters, too. Reading a strength ratingEach team receives a strength rating. Zero represents the average rated Kentucky team. A team rated +20 would be estimated to beat an average team by about 20 points on a neutral field. The difference between two teams’ ratings provides a starting point for a matchup prediction. Checking the resultsKentucky scores are checked against the official KHSAA scoreboard. Out-of-state results provide additional schedule context, and teams with limited opponent data receive coverage warnings. You can explore statewide and class rankings, inspect team results, and compare matchups. Team strength is KFPI’s main purpose; predictions help us test whether those ratings hold up. 120 Media Kentucky Football Power Index (KFPI)
