2025 Central Kentucky Freshmore Football League

Glad to see that Dunbar Coach Wes Johnson's Central Kentucky Freshmore League is back for a second year. Unsurprisingly, the league gained some traction after the success of its unaugural year, so they've picked up two new member teams for the 2025 season: Corbin and Woodford County.

A few guidelines for the 2025 CKFL:

- Freshman and Sophomores only. No Juniors.

- Seven (7) games over a nine (9) week regular season schedule, filled out by the CKFL league-runners.

- There are two (2) bye weeks to give member teams the opportunity to work non-CKFL teams into their schedules. League-wide bye weeks are initially scheduled for August 25 and October 6th, but member teams can also use bye weeks as scheduling buffers or make-up game dates. (e.g. - Paul Laurence Dunbar will play non-CKFL Sayre in the Aug 25 bye week. Also, due to scheduling conflicts, Paul Laurence Dunbar and Shelby County have moved their game into the Oct 6 bye week, leaving Oct 13th open for both teams to schedule non-CKFL competition should they choose to.)

- The CKFL is going to be split into six (6)-team North & South divisions. The schedule organized by the league for each team will inlcude games against all five (5) division of their opponents plus two (2) games aginst non-division opponents. Individual teams can schedule non-CKFL opponents during their bye weeks or can opt to schedule other CKFL opponents for their bye weeks.

- Monday night game play.

- Game 10 of the season will be Championship Saturday, held on October 25th at Paul Laurence Dunbar. The #2 teams in each division will play in the consolation game at 11:00am and the #1 team in each division will in the CKFL Championship Game at 3:00pm.
