  1. I agree that it’s a team effort. But, the district is pretty easy to win to be honest. Garrard County was knocking on the door last year with all of the things that were going on with that program. I think it’s very very realistic for them to win the district. They have a lot better chance to win theirs than Lincoln.
  2. If I’m the coach, the first thing I’m doing is begging the Horton twins to stay at LC. I’ve heard rumblings of them being gone depending on who is hired. If you lose both of those guys, then this team is going to be in some bad shape for the next coach.
  3. Yes. I’ve heard that as well. It would be a great fit. He has plenty of options in hand if this doesn’t work out.
  4. They have not interviewed and I don’t think either expects they will get one.
  5. I don’t know. I’m just relaying what I was told from someone close to the program. I don’t mean anything negative towards Cooper at all. I just am curious from what I was told. I hope they find the right fit for the kids. I know he and Rogers have been running weightlifting and they are getting an outstanding number of kids to show up.
  6. Do you personally think Cooper can be a head coach and have success? It’s nothing against him at all, but I just don’t think he’s an option to lead the program. He is fairly young and from the people I’ve talked to close to the program have said he has very minimal knowledge of the game. I just don’t think he’d be the best hire at this time. Not saying he can’t do it, but I think he still needs to get some time learning from other coaches before he’s considered.
  7. Interesting take…. Or could it be who a certain member of the administration wants? That’s usually how it goes in these situations.
  8. You think he will uproot his family and come back here? I just don’t see it happening. If I’m not mistaken, his mom moved back down to LaRue as well. I don’t personally know him, but it doesn’t seem likely to me.
  9. Rogers is a top notch coach and an even better man. But, people posting on here if they are for him or against him is not going to help nor hurt him getting the job. If the administration is going off what people say on here then that’s a whole different issue. They should do what’s best for the kids in the end no matter what. Will they? I hope so. I just think there is one specific person that thinks they control everything that happens at Lincoln. I’m assuming they are trying to get who he wants as the head coach and if that doesn’t work out then it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
  10. I think it’s beyond evident he will leave if he isn’t hired as the head coach. The administration has to know that by now. He’s been on staff with 3 different head coaches at Lincoln. I think he thinks it’s his time to get a chance, and I would agree with him. The administration can’t expect him to just tag along and be an assistant his whole life. The program is in a lot better position it was in 4 years ago. He’s a key contributor to why it is. I just have a bad feeling they are keeping him as an option as a last resort if they don’t get who they want.
  11. No chance he stays. If he doesn’t get a different HC job he will be at Garrard.
  12. It’s not a shot at him whatsoever. It may have came off the wrong way and that’s not what I intended. I just don’t think he’s ready to be a head coach. He’s a great guy and I believe he’s going to be an outstanding coach the longer he does it and learns. But for right now, I don’t think he’s ready to take over for Lincoln.
  13. With all due respect to Cooper, he’s not ready to be a head coach. I don’t think he was ever an option.
  14. I believe he’s going to be the next coach from what I understand. That’s just from hearing what I’ve been hearing. With his connections to Godbey I believe that alone is going to get him the job. I know the majority of the community and people around the team want Rogers as the head man, but we should see within the next few weeks who is hired.
  15. They may have known who they wanted but nobody was talked to until after the firing.
  16. You are correct. The point I’m making is, does Lincoln want to be in the same position it is now later on down the road in 4-5 years? I highly doubt it. I’m sure the administration wants to hire someone who will be there for longer than it’s typical head coach tenure in the past. If they hire Rogers, I think they get a guy who will stay there for as long as they would let him. But, this goes for him and any other coach they may hire, who do they get to help? They have to have assistants, and that’s why I think they will try to get a head coach with a current staff to possibly bring along as well. Personally, I think all candidates could have issues putting together a solid assistant coaching staff. Crutchfield even had problems getting people to help him while he was there.
  17. Just curious on why you think these two are the best options? I just don’t see Jaggers being the next head coach. I think if you hire either one of these guys it’s just a momentary hire… I think they will be doing this all over again in a few years. They need to make the right hire for the players sake. A lot of rumblings are being thrown around town if Rogers isn’t hired.
  18. I think that’s going to be the issue, Cooper may stay if Foley gets it. I do know for a fact Rogers is gone if he’s not hired. More than likely to Garrard County. Or if it’s another head coaching job opening. It’s going to be an interesting few weeks to come.
  19. I personally think the community for the most part is “Rogers or bust” and I can’t disagree with their mindset. I think Foley would be fine as the head man, but my only question is, if you hire him, how long does he stay? Rogers would be there for as long as Lincoln allowed him to be.
  20. I agree… I don’t see it happening. If I was to guess I think it’s Foley or Rogers. Personally, I think it’s going to be Foley in the end.
  21. From what I’ve been hearing, and this is in no particular order… 1. Josh Jaggers 2. Craig Foley 3. Levi Rogers 4. Mark Scenters
  22. The good ole days of loyalty and respect seem to be long gone in most cases!
  23. I think he’s very linked to the job from what I have heard. But, I do agree it’s a weird timing. My only guess would be that they caught wind it may already be a done deal of him going to Lincoln, or they were looking for an excuse to let him go beforehand and now they’ve got one.
  24. I’ve got word yesterday that his name has already been connected to the Lincoln County job opening.
