  1. Same old, same old with Diaz.  Four pitch walks, walks issued to two pf the first three to face him, and then a hit batter.  He was lucky to dig himself, or someone else dig him out of these situations over and over again last y3ear.  Not a fan.

My man Hunter Greene is being exposed - again.  100 pitches in 5 innings and did not start Opening Day which says they didn't want him to get shelled right out of the gate  They will let him get knocked around for a few games and then he will end up on some disabled list  and use the injury card the rest of the way out.  Blown First Round draft choice.

My first call would be to Tim Sullivan.  At this point, I don't think he walks away from Cooper, but he is a Holmes alum a proven winner and a great coach.  He at least deserves the CHHS administration's attention.

So what you are saying is "The right of first refusal."

  3. This year's Brossart team has been plagued by our past success.  We play the NKAC DivIi schedule which we have not been able to be competitive.  We did not get back some of the football players we were expecting, and in the final weeks of the season, lost Ben Doyle, our floor general, to an ankle injury.

Looking at the three teams that we did beat Villa, Calvary, and Bracken, they are playing lesser schedules and all have double-digit wins.  With no seniors, hopefully this season will provide the experience needed to set up a "rebound season" in 24-25.

We played NCC to 35-33 at halftime, and then promptly tied the score at 35-35 to start the second half.  Things went downhill from there as NCC went on a 21-0 run and that was that.

  4. I was somewhat expecting to see a post of this ilk when Bracken County defeated Holmes by nearly 30 points recently.

I remember when Holmes dropped down from NKAC Division I to Division II.  Everyone raised eyebrows at that time.  Holmes seemed to be a powerhouse at that time, but the Holmes administration must have seen this decent coming.  It has taken quite a while to come to this stage, but during their stint in Division Ii, I don't ever remember them being a dominant force.   I could be wrong.

Have they begun interviews or gotten the ball rolling yet? Surely Mustang must have a say in the new coach right?

My affiliation with the football program is as the Internet Radio Broadcaster.  With that said I am a big fan, am a friend of Paul Wiggins, and have been privy to travel with the team on out-of-towners etc.,, but I have no official function with the football program, like I do with the basketball program.

I have been laid up since December 11th recovering from a knee injury, and haven't been in the building much during that time.  I have no inside information, and certainly no influence on who the next coach will be.

  6. I've got a real problem that I am being held hostage to pony up additional money to watch Patrick Mahomes play Saturday night.

I pay Alta-Fiber nearly $150 (TV/Internet) a month to assure that I receive network TV and will be provided major sporting events.

We should have seen this coming when Thursday night Football became Pay Per View.

I am 76 years old and am going to forced to pay up, or refrain from watching the game altogether, as a matter of principle.  If I were in my 20s or 30s this would really concern me that my future TV will become a series of "The Super Bowl Streaming Exclusively on ROKU" or "The Kentucky Derby Streaming Exclusively on You Tube".  Where will it end???  It won't.  So long as we suckers pony up the cash, these people will continue to squeeze the last dime out of us.

I consider watching NFL Football on network TV an American birthright, and even moreso since I pay Alta-Fiber to represent me for my subscription fee to provide these games.  Who is out there representing us in these matters and allowing this to happen???

Remember some of our early conversations Mustang? They have come true lol!!!

I use your old quote quite often, that you issued one night during a broadcast as Bellevue was beating up on us.

You commented that "These coaches know that its only a matter of time until Brossart football joins our other sports at being championship caliber."

We have certainly made our mark in Class 1A since then.

  8. I'll admit that when calling the game I expected us to win.

However, a 17-3 Lady Jackets advantage in the third quarter led to the Lady 'Stangs demise.

Very strong showing from Freshman Maggie Simons (27) and Tessa Humphries (14) paved the way to the win.  Rachel Shewmaker led the Brossart girls with 10 points.  She was named to the All-Tournament Team.  Zoey Woosley was All-Academic.

Congratulations and best of luck to Coach Greg Letcher and the Lady Jackets moving on.

This is the first time since 2015 that a Brossart team will not be represented in the All "A" State Tournament.

  9. Responding to the Guru's request for a comment from me.  The first I heard of it was when I opened my email this morning and saw the Press Release  I have been out of the building since December 11th and had heard no rumor to the possibility that Paul would not be back.

Coach Wiggins is passionate about Brossart football.  He has given us 10 years of quality Class 1A football, and had he not accepted the challenge of taking over the program when it was facing extinction, the Football complex we know as the MAC would probably still be a hayfield.

I'm sure the reasoning behind not renewing Paul's contract will come to light.  I too would hope that if indeed the move was made in order for the program to take a giant step forward, that the new coach has already committed, and that he will be capable of drawing  quality players into our our program, and have a proven record of taking teams to the next level.
