What will happen if a team comes dow with corona the first week of the playoffs? What if both teams come down with it the first week?
Very good question. Will be interesting to see how it gets handled. Hopefully that situation can be avoided but that’s not likely to be the case.

Mayfield by 10.
-
West Carter by 39.

Sounds like two really bad defenses.

Owensboro BIG.

This will be the biggest challenge yet for Somerset. I’ll take the Briar Jumpers by 17.

Devils stay undefeated.

I was just stating them in comparison to the rest of our schedule. I don’t see any team we play being better than them, so that’s why I’d say their name before anyone else’s.
That’s probably true. Beechwood should be favored in all of the remaining games on their schedule unless there’s a schedule change or something like that.

Gotta be the best game of the week in Kentucky!! I think Douglass wins by 6-10.

Hope that’s true! But what about Meade? I see that being our next biggest test.
Isn’t Meade 1-3? Don’t see that being an issue for the tigers

The question is how good/legit is Cline? The competition is lacking.
Here are Cline's stats last year when playing quality teams:
vs. Mercer County ... 17 carries for 53 yards.
vs. Russell ... 19 carries for 56 yards.
vs. Beechwood ... 17 carries for 45 yards.
When we start talking all state qualifications, competition has to be a factor. Let's see how he does when he faces the better competition. Unfortunately for him, the only quality team on the schedule in the regular season is Russell so not much opportunity for him.
I’m not 100% sure but Didn't Breathitt county have like 6 all state guys on their team last year? Competition must not matter if I’m accurate on that.
Is it possible that the offensive line wasn’t as legitimate as they were last year for west Carter? Seemed like Cline had some issues with injuries last year too. I look forward to watching West Carter go to Russell in a few weeks.

Russell looks to be a legitimate 3A contender. The Ashland game should tell us more about both teams.

Beechwood will not lose another game this season.

Another big night from Cline - 262 yards and 5 TDs. He'll be hard to ignore when All-State voting time rolls around.
Cline is legit.

Does anyone know when RPI scores will be released? Is the RPI even being used this year?

Russell's not really built for the downhill, between the tackles, run heavy offense they had last season. The line is lighter this year and there's no second power back like Malakai Anderson (6'1" and 220 lbs) to compliment Conley. With Jachimczuk's growth as a passer and maybe the deepest group of receivers they've ever had, I look for the passing game to continue being more of a priority than it's been in the past. That's not to say they won't ride Conley when the need arises, but I think the commitment to offensive balance is something Russell will strive for every week.
If Russell can stay balanced, they’ll be tough to beat.

Despite coming off the loss to Johnson Central, Simon Kenton still has to be a considerable favorite here. This Russell team looks pretty legit to me, but that's based off of how they've looked against teams with a combined record of 2-5. This is a big step up in competition.
The balance on offense has been a welcomed sight. I hope that continues this week. I think it'll have to if Russell wants to have a shot at winning this game.
I wonder how much of that balance has to do with them playing teams that are a combined 2-5? Is Russell willing to be balanced against the better teams on their schedule like Simon Kenton, Ashland, West Carter, and Raceland?

West should run the clock in this one. I won't be surprised if they do that to every district opponent this year.
Agreed.

Top 3 will stay the same for the rest of the regular season. 4-10 will become a little more clear in the coming weeks with district play. Caldwell at Mayfield is the biggest game in 2A this week but I expect Mayfield to win by double digits. Owensboro Catholic and McClean County is a huge matchup too.

Comets roll into Bath County looking to continue their undefeated season. Predictions? I’ll take West Carter 41-0.
