They were coached by NKY legend, Shannon Minor, the last many years. I believe he is on staff at CovCath now. I think.

I mentioned this in the pre-season preview, them returning quality players at each level of their offense, would really help Aaron. They have so much experience and talent, they are going to be a hard-out all year for nearly everyone (except, likely GRC).

Campbell County, I presume still without Izzy, travels to Simon Kenton tonight for the game of the night in NKY Girls' Hoops.

WV grabs the lopsided road win last night. Bearcats are 5-1, winners of 4 straight, since dropping that close game to the Bluebirds. The Lady Mustangs fall to 4-4 on the season.

Whew...the Lady 'Stangs are REALLY rolling right now. They are a machine, early in the season, improving to 7-0, next hosting St. Ursula (OH) who is winless on the season. Coach Stamm and his talented team are going to have a gaudy and impressive start to the season.

Well, we had NDA over Cooper correctly, and NewCath over Conner correctly. Good start to the year!

Sounds like some key missed FTs in the 4th made the job harder for the Raiders. Also sounds like, from what I heard, that Jae had a great look to tie it and it just didn't go in. Also....that is a great pun, you should own it!

Several good games around the area tonight, but none bigger than #3 Cooper visiting #2 Notre Dame on the hill! Really looking forward to that one -- two new coaching staffs, facing an early-season stiff test. Can't wait!

Final from Union, and confirmed, The Camels were without Izzy. That makes this a very impressive road win for Davey's Camels.

Typically, yes, but we have included Pendleton County when they were deserved (and probably should be this year). But yes, traditionally our NKY Top 10 was 32-37.

Based on which game? The loss to a team that Ryle beat by 40? Not sure I've seen it thus far, but we will keep an eye out.

Girls' game of the night, tonight, is Campbell County at Ryle. Not sure if it is accurate or not, I don't have confirmation, but I heard from a Ryle parent that Izzy Jayasuriya, for the Camels, will miss tonight's game. Huge factor for the Camels, if accurate. Obviously, I hope it isn't. Regardless, #7 at #5 is a good way to spend a Tuesday.

HC with the very impressive win and margin!

Well, without question, the toughest opponent last week was Mother Nature. Most people got very few games in last week, with the exception of our top team who went 4-0 and dodged winter's wrath. The game of the week was the overtime thriller on the hill, with Notre Dame knocking off Holy Cross, in a game that I'm sure had both teams leaving wondering "what if". We should all ink in the fact that the rematch in the District Tournament will be amazing! The most surprising outcome last week was Lloyd knocking off Scott, so again, big congrats to Coach Fish and the Juggs! We have a slew of great games this week, and of course, the annual tradition of Holiday tournaments scattered all over the state. If Mother Nature cooperates this week, and it looks like she will, we should learn a great deal about everyone over the next 7 days!
