Disappointed that Lawrence decided to play starters after the running clock and substitutions by Paintsville. LC scored late against Paintsville JV, emotions ran high and a 2 way LC starter was ejected. LC has 80 kids, let the other 60 who sacrifice Monday - Thursday get a few reps after the running clock was on, the only way LC can return to dominance is by developing their talent! Disappointed that the LC coaches could have prevented themselves the headache of an ejection heading in to district play. Good Luck to the Dawgs the rest of the way! Tyrese Allen was a man amongst boys! The screen he tipped to himself as he ran ovr 2 guys was as incredible a high school football play as you will see! Tyrese had 10 carries for over 110 yds rushing.

Pikeville did this at Paintsville 2 weeks ago. No big deal, whatever a coach thinks helps his team get an edge, I support. Looks like Coach Eviston's method worked in this case.

Pikeville is already experiencing these problems from being a successful 1A program and winning a state championship in 2015. Can you imagine trying to schedule games while being dominant in the smallest classification? They have 9 games scheduled for 2017 and 1 is at Calloway completely across the state. Personally, I like the Phillip Haywood method of scheduling a team that can beat you, it would be hard to challenge his scheduling methods based on Belfry's success. I believe Paintsville is seeing dividends from scheduling a very good Hurricane WV team. After that loss (they hadn't lost a regular season game in 2 seasons) Paintsville looked much improved vs Pikeville/WBurg. To answer your question, I do not think Cov Cath ever has trouble finding games in NKY, most expect Cov Cath to be Cov Cath and always put a quality product on the field. I feel like Beechwood and Lex Cath also agree with Haywood's method in scheduling quality teams in order to prepare for a deep run, so I do not think either will dodge Cov Cath in the future. In a densely populated area as NKY/Cinci, I cannot see CCHS ever struggling to fill out a schedule like Pikeville did this season. Would love to see a JCHS/Cov Cath regular season battle!
