  1. CAL lost to Seneca so why aren't higher but if they continue to win I'm sure will move up. YW! And Thx!
  2. Manual at 12-1 has the best record in the 7th Region with their lone loss to Great Crossing so they have earned the #1 spot this past week but will have to defend it in the upcoming LIT. Trinity hangs at #2 after going 1-1 against two tough Indiana teams. St. X at #3 went to Florida and went 2-1 against some top Florida teams. Male at #4 went 1-1 this past week. Ballard at #5 had a rough week going 0-3 but the teams behind them haven't proved their better than the perennial power Bruins but so far looking like a down year by historical standards for the Bruins. 1. Manual (12-1) Manual beat Lewisburg (MS) 56-48, beat West Forsythe (NC) 71-45, and beat Hardin Valley Academy (TN) 71-63. 2. Trinity (9-3) Trinity beat Carmel (IN) 48-34 and lost to North Central (IN) 52-50. 3. Saint Xavier (10-2) St. X beat Countryside (FL) 74-61, beat North Tampa Christian (71-64), and lost to Gibbs (FL) 79-67. 4. Male (8-4) Male beat Central Hardin 81-67 and lost to Mountain Brook (AL) 58-54. 5. Ballard (4-6) Ballard lost to Christ Presbyterian Academy (TN) 78-75, lost to Hillsboro (TN) 69-55, and lost to Brentwood Academy (TN) 73-57. 6. Eastern (8-5) Eastern beat Paul Dunbar 65-38, Beat Elizabethtown 54-37, and lost to Oldham County 70-62. 7. Seneca (6-5) Seneca didn't have any games this past week on KHSAA scoreboard. 8. Christian Academy - Louisville (9-4) Beat Lincoln County (TN) 73-36, beat Spencer County 74-55, and beat Atlantic (FL) 61- 9. Central (2-6) Central didn't have any games this past week on KHSAA scoreboard. 10. KY Country Day (7-4) KCD beat Van Buren County (TN) 55-48, beat West Point (AL) 46-42, and beat Carroll (OH) 46-45. 11. Waggener (5-7) 12. Highlands Latin (7-3) 13. Atherton (4-11) 14. Shawnee (8-4) 15. Collegiate (4-7) 16. Portland Christian (2-8) 17. Brown (3-9) 18. Francis Parker (3-6)
  3. I think Manual makes it to final against either Trinity or St. X but also not counting Male out.
  4. Field is set. Bracket from Jason Frakes of Courier Journal.
  5. Brohm vs. Bush 2002 State Championship game would've had social media blowing up.
  6. Congrats to WEB Dubois on winning the tournament! Eastern runner up. Eastern beat St. X in semifinals and DuBois beat Trinity in semifinals.
  7. North Tampa Christian was 12-1 and ranked #31 in Florida so this was good win. Thanks for the recap of game since I wasn't able to watch today.
  8. Tigers go 2-1 in Florida and play Butler County next at McCracken County Mustang Madness.
  9. North Tampa Christian who St. X will play tomorrow is ranked #31 in Florida according to Maxpreps. Should be good game.
  10. Tigers run into top 20 team in Florida and get second loss of season. I watched first 3 quarters but the NFHS feed cut out after that. I hate NFHS feeds. Gibbs looked long and athletic and gave St. X problems down low and played well on defense. Last game in Florida is tomorrow.
  11. Tigers play Gibbs (FL) today who is ranked #18 in Florida according to Maxpreps rankings. Should be tough opponent.
  12. Butler 6-5 now and surprisingly haven't played well since knocking off Male.
  13. Shamrocks lose close one. North Central ranked #26 in Indiana according to Maxpreps.
  14. Tigers had 20 pt lead in 2Q and 2nd half coasted to win. I don't think it was one of their better games but got the win despite it.
  15. Male has win over Trinity but that was close game and Trinity is playing a little better right now. Both Trinity and Male have played tough schedule. You can make argument for St. X and Manual as 1 & 2 but other than the teams they lost to haven't played a tough schedule. I figure by LIT will have good handle on those 4 teams.
  16. This past week Trinity went 3-1 in the King of the Bluegrass tournament and Male went 2-2 in the same tournament. Saint Xavier and Manual continue to win with big margins. It's still early and all four of these teams look like serious 7th Region Championship contenders. The LIT is coming up in early January and will hopefully get some head-to-head matchups between these teams. For now, the holiday tournament season continues. 1. Trinity (8-2) Trinity beat Butler County 88-61, beat DeSales 63-58, beat Newport 76-71, and lost to Bowling Green 56-54. Next game is at North Central (IN) on 12/28. 2. Male (7-3) Male beat Taylor County 80-64, beat North Oldham 87-58, lost to Spencer County 63-61, and lost to Harlan County 80-74. Next game is against Mountain Brook (AL) at Henderson County on 12/28. 3. Saint Xavier (8-1) St. X beat Brown 91-50 and beat Moore 105-64. Next game is against Countryside (FL) on 12/28 in Sun Bash tournament in St. Petersburg, FL. 4. Manual (9-1) Manual beat Bardstown 84-55, beat Madison Southern 70-60, and beat Pleasure Ridge Park 64-41. Next game is on 12/26 in Smoky Mountain Classic with opponent TBA. 5. Ballard (4-3) No games this past week. Next game is at Mustang Madness at McCracken County on 1/6. 6. Eastern (6-4) 7. Seneca (6-5) 8. Christian Academy-Louisville (6-4) 9. Central (2-6) 10. KY Country Day (4-4) 11. Highlands Latin (7-3) 12. Shawnee (6-3) 13. Waggener (4-5) 14. Atherton (3-9) 15. Collegiate (2-6) 16. Portland Christian (2-8) 17. Brown (3-9) 18. Francis Parker (3-3)
  17. They are shooting 38% from three and avg making 11.9 per game. Don't have a senior in top 8 players. 4 juniors have been playing significant minutes or starting since freshman. Sophomore Jeremiah Jackson is a legit D1 prospect. St. X in past has played stall ball but this group plays fast and press and are entertaining to watch. I want to see how they do against top teams in 7th region which I expect to be high scoring games. They are heading to Florida to play in tournament and one of the teams they will be playing, Gibbs, is ranked in top 25 in Florida according to Maxpreps.
  18. Tigers hit century mark for 4th time this season.
  19. Louisville won't be favored in a game until they play Notre Dame in February. Louisville is a bad team and this result is no surprise. I look forward to the end of the Kenny Payne era.
