  1. Matt Grimes threw for Danville, he was relieved by Lance White in the 7th. For the life of me I can't remember who started for Somerset, but he pitched 6 innings I think. Somerset sent out a new pitcher for the 7th inning.
  2. Exactly! Kentucky has two players on the 2007 Louisville Slugger's Pre-Season 1st Team All American Team: Ben Revere, Lexington Catholic, Outfield (University of Georgia) Rich Witten, Danville, RHP/SS (Coastal Carolina) Two great players from Kentucky being recognized!
  3. Congrats to O-Cath on their All A win. Tough luck for Danville on Saturday with the rain, but that's the breaks I guess. O-Cath had to come back and play on Sunday just like the Admirals and they worked their way out to erase a 5-0 defecit. For those not at the O-Cath/Danville game that was postponed I would like to share something that most people might not get a chance to see. During the rain delay after the rain had stopped, both teams were out of the dugouts waiting for the grounds crews to go to work and get the field playable. During this time the two teams joined each other on the field and played a paper-rock-scissors tourney, they had dancing/skits going back and forth... it was really fun to watch the kids having a lot of fun. Me, as well as others that I was with, thought this showed not only a lot of sportmanship between the two teams, but it also showed that these are kids out there playing a game, and regardless of what the score was or the fact that this was a huge game between two top-10 ranked teams, they were having a great time.
  4. The same thing was said about Michael Bush his senior year...
  5. Breaking Benjamin - 2 (will be 3 after Rock on the Range 5/19) Chevelle - 2 (will be 3 after Rock on the Range 5/19) Kid Rock - 3 Godsmack - 2 Lacuna Coil - 2 (after May 7th) Evanescence - 2 (after Rock on the Range 5/19) Hinder - 2 (after Rock on the Range 5/19)
  6. I have bought and sold both. Never had a bad experience.
  7. With your logic a good player should be able to hit over .600 with 25 homeruns if they play a weak schedule? Funny it doesn't happen more often then. I'm sure lots of teams in the state play a weaker schedule than LexCath. Last time I checked Trinity, Ballard, and Male were big schools too. Would you like Witten's stats from those games? Let's make a list of stats against quality opponents and only count those. But we can only compare them if they faced the same pitcher on the same amount of days rest. Home runs will only count on fields of specified dimensions and will be excluded if the wind was blowing out.
  8. I hope your sports writer's are more understanding than ours! When I or anyone I know writes in commenting they take it as a personal slap in the face I guess.
  9. Witten has signed with Costal Carolina, as noted by Strike3. I believe Witten is now 8-0 this season with wins against the following teams: Russell County Doss Male Somerset Boyle County Anderson County Bishop Brossart Southwestern
  10. Sorry that Witten wasn't able to put on a show for you. Probably didn't have a great weekend at the plate and you didn't get to see him pitch because he had just pitched vs. Bishop Brossart putting the Ads in the All A Statewide Tourney throwing 7 innings, giving up 5 hits, 1 earned run and a 10 K's. From what I have heard about Revere, he is a great player as well.
  11. I don't know exactly what was said that got BB's coach tossed, because I couldn't hear what he was saying that far down the 1st base line. I do know that the home plate umpire (for who knows what reason) walked down the line to step in the the middle of it and the discussion went on for about 15 minutes. They umpires held up starting the bottom of the inning for 15 minutes talking with the coach, or letting him argue with them. Once the coach gets tossed he gets two minutes to leave the field. Don't understand what the deal was or what took so long.
  12. Yeah, I believe that the home plate ump tried to toss a fan for complaining. As an umpire you can only make half the people happy when you make a tight call so how can you justify throwing out a fan for complaining as long as the umpire wasn't being threatened. There was a lot of complaining from both sides. It was weird... Like I said earlier, I thought they may have appeared to be a little intimidated.
  13. I second that one... IMO they were very intimdated with the weight of the game.
  14. Danville's pitching has been great this year. Combined ERA of 0.94.
  15. Both pitchers pitched a phenomenal game.
  16. I heard Witten threw a no-hitter. Unfortunately I didn't make it to the game either.
  17. I was at the 2A and 1A games. I had already gotten too cold to stay for the 3A game... and I was ready for some food.
  18. Word from the KHSAA says that separate tickets are needed for each game. However all the tickets are green so my guess is that if you want to see two games you could get two tickets at a participating school and save yourself some money at the gate.
  19. I know it has been stated both here and on the KHSAA website that each game requires a separate ticket. Will the stands be cleared, and if you have an all-session ticket or an additional ticket for the next game, are you required to also leave the stadium?
  20. 1st & 10 from Bethlehem 22. Danville takes a knee. Final Score... Bethlehem 14 Danville 33
  21. 1st down... Strode carries for a short loss 2nd & 11 ... Ross up the middle takes the ball to around the Bethlehem 25.
  22. Bethlehem punts... Danville takes over around 2 minutes left.
  23. 1st and 10 again... Pass attempt, incomplete. 2nd and 10 ... loss on the play? 3rd & 14... keeper, loss on the play again.
