  1. What does Lafayette have coming back? Can he help them?
  2. I heard it was Douglass or Lafayette. I don't think he'd go to Douglass with their talent at quarterback, though. That's just my guess.
  3. What about Kenan McWhorter? He had a good run at Berea and coached at Powell County. Would he be interested?
  4. Where was he before Woodford? Where is he going?
  5. Douglass Lafayette Tates Creek Henry Clay Bryan Station Dunbar
  6. This is not good for Coach Johnson. Wheels are falling off. I hate it for the kids at Woodford.
  7. Williamsburg always finds a way to put a competitive team on the field. Jerry Herron is one of the best coaches in Kentucky, no doubt.
  8. West Jessamine showed a lot of improvement last season. They return a lot of players from that team and should pick up a couple more wins in 2018.
  9. Woodford was 0-11 in 2017. I've heard they have had several kids either quit or transfer, even some returning starters. Numbers are low and they could be looking at another winless season with their schedule.
  10. Thanks for the info. I know it is called The Academy at Shawnee. Does that mean students have to apply to go there, or do all of the students in the area go there? Do they have a feeder school(s)?
  11. Are they looking for a new AD? What's your opinion about the kids in the school/on the team? Is there something to work with there? Are there good athletes in the school and the lack of success is keeping them away?
  12. I don't know much about the situation. What are the other factors? What's bad about the location? Also, enrollment numbers shouldn't matter because Kentucky uses the class system. If a coach committed to Shawnee for four years, could they be successful? I'm sure part of their failure has been due to instability at the head coaching position.
  13. Shawnee is 47-231 since 1990. That's a 20% winning percentage. I'm sure that's among the worst in the state. They were 6-5 in 2008. That's their only winning season in that time. What is the problem at Shawnee? Is it impossible to win?
  14. Looks like Coach Shatzer will be leaving Shawnee to take over at Jeffersontown. He posted on the listserv earlier today that Jeffersontown was in need of assistant coaches, and had himself as the head coach in his signature. Jeffersontown is filled. Shawnee is open.

  16. Dennis Johnson is really struggling at Woodford. He went 0-11 last year, and the program seems to have gotten worse each season he has been the head coach. I have heard that they really like him over there, though, so his job may be safe.
  17. Justin Haddix from Corbin? Played four years at Western. Has had great success rebuilding a tradition rich program at Corbin. Seems like a home run.
  18. Anderson Co dropped to 4A and Frederick Douglass is now in 5A. Here is the link: http://khsaa.org/football/realignment/2019-2022/football%20alignment%202019%20enrollments%20detailed_legal%20size.pdf
  19. Few names I've heard - Ethan Atchley - Head Coach at Lexington Christian Academy Nathan McPeek - Offensive Coordinator at Frederick Douglass Oliver Lucas - Head Coach at George Rogers Clark Few names who are in a good position to apply - Jon Clark - Head Coach at Madison Southern John Hines - Head Coach at Pulaski County Matthew Jones - Head Coach at KY Country Day Stephon Lefors - Head Coach at the Christian Academy of Louisville Tates Creek could be a really nice job for the right person.
  20. You've made some valid points, but I can't dismiss this sanguinness about this hire that makes me shake my head. Wes Johnson has coached ONE year since 2008, and his teams at West Jessamine did not do well his last three years there. That's called a decline, not an all-time coach. Randy Wood sounds like a good coach, but where in the heck has he been lately? I'd like to know. To think that this staff will come to Dunbar and bring Navy or Georgia Tech's offense, combined with some version of the run-and-shoot, and just magically turn things around is asisnine, and laughable on some levels. Bottom line, Dunbar could not close the deal with some candidates, and they were left with Johnson, whom, by the way, applied for the job two years ago and wasn't hired. I just have some problems with not hiring a guy, then he does nothing for two years, and he is all of sudden the man for the job. Give me a break. Now, with that said, I'll be the first to eat crow if this guy turns it around; I hope he turns it around. But, let's pump the brakes a little.
