  1. I personally think he shouldn't be able to win any award other than clown of the year. Nothing wrong with lobbying for a cause, donating money for good cause, and standing for what you believe in, but do it on your time not your employers. But when you refuse to stand for the anthem you don't get any respect from me.

  2. Poor man's muscle car. The Bugatti Vision GT will crank out over 1200 hp and do over 278 mph. Of course that is for a cool $5.6 million, tax, tag, and title.

Can you imagine what a set of wipers for that thing would cost?

Poor man's "supercar" not muscle car. The term muscle car r is saved for cars like Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers and older cars that are high performance front engine rear drive and 4 seater. Super cars are 2 seaters with big power almost all are mid engine or rear engine, though the Corvette has a front engine with the transmission in the rear. It still puts the engine behind the front axle centerline for better weight distribution. The Ford GT made 2004-2006 was the poor man's super car of it's time.

  3. Many good points made here. Ibelieve high school bball is relevant because of what it does for the kid as far as building relationships and keeping them in touch with school and the academics. As far as relevance to get to the next level,, if it's the only path you have then yes it is relevant. If you can play AAU ball, and not even talking about the elite leagues, that will get you to the next level long before school ball. Personal experience speaking, my son's college coach didn't even look at a film of his high school games. Didn't care.

  4. I think playing at the next level has very little to do with the success of a coach. Very few players at the HS level move on to play at the next level anyway.

Can they get the most out of their kids?

do they help the student/athlete become good citizens?

do they treat the kids fairly?

Half the high school coaches out there do not accomplish any of this, nor do they try. Treat the kid fair, and talk to them with respect. This will get you respect and they will play the best for you. This along with some life lessons along the way build a better character out of the student and Coach. More wins will come when a team will play there heart out because they enjoy playing for the coach and with each other. I know one team for sure this last season that had a lot of talent but most of the players had no respect for the coaches, and it was easy to see why. Their record wasn't the only thing lost.

  5. I don't necessarily agree with this sentiment. It's almost impossible to know about every good player across the entire state.

This I will agree with. But there are a bunch on here who know every thing about every player and every team and every coach, just ask them...... Nobody has seen every player in ky play, or every team for that matter. And if someone on here does know everything about the entire state, they must do allot of traveling and they have no other life than high school basketball.

  6. The truth of what happened the other night is a car did exactly as it should have, moved over and slowed down to about 45mph because of the emergency vehicles and the snow/ice covered roadway. The next car coming along was running 65-70 mph and lost control as he tried to avoid the car that had slowed for the conditions. ( Which he hit anyway) Had he slowed down and was paying attention none of this would have happened. 19 year old kid with other kids in the car, driving to fast for the conditions and not slowing down with a bunch of flashing lights all over the road. Maybe he just wasn't paying attention. He was def going to fast on a snow covered road. Maybe he was never educated and told what to do when he sees those flashing lights. I think it's common sense, but apparently it isn't for some people. So we have to educate those. Thanks again to everyone for the well wishes and keep spreading the word.

  7. Every state as of 2012. In KY it's the "Move Over Kentucky" law, with a fine of up to $500. Seems like a small number for such ramifications.

    Glad your son will recover.

I worded my sentence wrong. I meant that other states have a lot stiffer penalties for not moving over or slowing down. Thanks for letting everyone know that it had been a law since 2012, most do not know I'm sure. Even though it should be common sense and common courtesy.

  8. Thanks. But everyone can thank us, and him, along with every other person out there who deals with traffic situations by passing the word along. Help educate those you know about flashing lights. I have been out there myself many times and been way to close to cars going 65+ mph . Most of the time it could be avoided if people would just move over a lane, when that's not possible just slow down. This is a law in other states with steep fines. And when weather is a factor, the danger is much worse. I have been preaching this for 20 years especially every time I heard about an accident like this. Always prayed it wouldn't be my son, but prayers don't stop dumb drivers.

  9. Agreed. However according to most in this thread it is fine as long as the theme is USA.

That's not what I'm seeing. IMO nothing wrong with having a patriotic theme. But use it all game long and not just when a person who was not born in the USA is shooting. This article States that the other team had multiple players from refugee families. Did they single those kids out? How many other teams does this team play that have players from refugee families?

  10. Last night( around 1230 this morning) our son was hit by a car while working an accident scene. He is a tow truck driver who was dispatched to a wreck on 275 at the AA junction. It was snowing, road got slick. The truck he went to get was over the gaurdrail, so he called his boss to bring the wrecker to recover it as he was driving a rollback. He was standing in the median talking with another driver who had just spun into the median. There were other cars that had wrecked on both sides of the road. Police cars were present with lights on, lights on the rollback, even an ambulance. Car came along lost control, hit a truck on the road way, then hit him and the driver of the vehicle he was talking to. Both taken to UC hospital. Worse phone call you have ever gotten when your told; your son has been hit by a car on 275 and aircare had been called in. Thankfully withing minutes of getting to UC, we found out he had no life threatening injuries. Appeared to be such for the other guy hit. Our son has broken pelvic bone, fractured ribs, and numerous cuts and bruises from head to toe. But he will be ok. Gonna be a long road to recovery but all in all not bad considering he was thrown quite a distance after being struck. The other guy will be ok too. Driver not seriously injured that I'm aware of. Driver going to fast for conditions and not paying any attention to the cars and trucks ahead.

What I'm trying to say to everyone is this:

When you see flashing lights, whether they are blue, red, yellow orange or any other color, SLOW DOWN, STAY AWAY FROM THEM, MOVE OVER WHEN YOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. this applies to all vehicles with flashing lights! Those lights are not a Target! Plow trucks, tow trucks, garbage trucks, police cars, fire trucks, ambulances, anything with a flashing light on it is a warning that you need to use caution! So many accidents happen every day because of ignorant drivers who don't slow down. Or don't move over a lane and run right into people or vehicles. My son is lucky to be with us today, many do not survive such accidents. Please spread this awareness to everyone, maybe we can avoid a few of these instances.

  11. Truckers don't care about anybody else on the road but them. Will ride side by side for miles at 10 under the speed limit because they can't slow down enough to get behind the other guy. No respect for any one.

Don't group all truck drivers in the same category. The are def more bad truck drivers than ever out there. But there is a bunch of good ones too.

  12. Exactly. They just kept passing it back and forth with no one moving.

Occasionally, someone might dribble a few feet, only to pick up the ball when met with resistance and pass it to someone else who hadn't moved.

The coach needs to step-in and better direct them with some play calls or at least some ideas on who needs to cut into what lanes and all that.

You sure your not talking about Holy Cross's coach? Lol

  13. If CCH can get Walters involved early, it changes the game. Key is getting him the ball with an entry pass that has him in a position to score. This has not been a strength of this team in the past and don't see it changing tonight. Should be a great game but CCH has been struggling from the outside. I'll take Cooper on a late bucket to win a very tight game.

I would agree with getting the big man the ball in a position to score. Something I did not see them do as much as they should. This is the one weapon that Cooper will have trouble defending IMO. Jake involved in majority of game- CCH by 12. Jake not getting the ball close to the rim- tossup, but I'm gonna say Cooper by 2

  14. I don't recall anyone blaming Nolan Schrand for what happened with this team. It was said by others that I, Nuff said and lamontab were blaming the losses on him, and we made it very clear that we were putting the blame on Schrand alright, the coach. I have held back a lot but now that the season is over my son can face no reprocussions so there it is. Schrand is horrible. If you put the right group of kids on the floor to get the job done, and make proper adjustments for the team your facing, watch and see who is making the biggest difference on floor and sub accordingly, oh wait you can't do that or your son won't play more minutes than anyone else! McClendon doesn't know how to talk to kids or anyone for that matter. Muck might be alright if he would coach his own game. Yes this is my opinion. You don't have to agree with it but many do.

  15. Thank you B-Ball- fan and sportsfan 1989 for seeing what the rest of us close to this team have known and seen all along.

As for your comments luke 13, your correct on Williams turnovers, as well as Meinze's. Although I beleive only one of those turnovers of Meinze's was his fault. But in case you didn't notice every HC player that touched the floor in this game turned the ball over Save for the ones that played the last minute. Meinze has never been comfortable playing this year because of the crap from the coaches. Barnes as well. And a few others while I'm thinking about it. Every person on this team has missed a point blank layup, turned the ball over, made mistakes, yet you want to point out just a couple. Biggest problem with this team is coaching plain and simple. I have listened to McClendon tell players something different than Schrand. The coaches can't even work with each other as evident in Owensboro back in Dec. Schrand should have been fired then. he gave up on his team in the third quarter of a game and didn't start coaching until game almost over when he put his son back in. Yes these kids made a lot of mistakes, but coaching forced a lot of what we saw.
