  1. I guess I just do things different than a lot of you. In my line of work not having cash in your pocket could mean missing the good deal. When I drive down the road and see a car for sale in someone's yard, I stop make a deal and pay for it. I sell things every day, have a lot of people that want to buy a truck I have for sale that was advertised as a (cash price)but don't have the cash on the them, say they need to run to the bank. Next guy pulls in 2 minute later with cash in hand. Who do you think just bought the truck? I understand not every one lives like I or some others do. Just couldn't imagine not having cash on me.

  2. How do you people who carry no cash buy stuff at yard sales? Flea market? Off Craigslist? I know some of the people at flea markets take cards, but not all. I have never had anyone I have sold to or bought from on Craigslist mention anything other than cash. With my business I buy cars out of the auctions. You pay with cashier's check or cash. This is called secured funds and gives you a $40 discount on each car. (Doesn't sound like much, but we buy 20-30 junk cars a week) Company checks are also accepted but it's not considered a secured fund. No credit card or venmo or whatever else you guys are using .Lol

  3. I will comment on the "no sign or not a lighted sign". I have worked ( commercial property management) and lived in Alexandria a long time. Just putting a sign up is not that easy in this town. Many a small business has come and gone and most people didn't even know they were here.

  4. Considering the size of most police departments in this area I agree. However, if it is a large department with dedicated Internal Affairs and units designed specifically to handle large incidents then I probably lean towards letting them investigate their own.

To me it has nothing to do with size of the department. It has to do with not being affiliated or knowing the officer or officers involved.

  5. In fairness to the Boone County SO that agency is probably 4 times the size of the Erlanger Police Department and much better equipped to handle major incidents so I can understand Boone County saying to themselves "we got this" until they quickly realized this is going to be controversial so we better get a third party to handle to the investigation.

I truly believe anytime they're is an officer involved in shooting someone, an outside department or organization should do the investigation.

  6. Knock on wood, but that hasn’t happened. But if it did, I have the apps set up on my tablet, and my wife has the apps on her phone as well. In addition, everything I can do through the app, I can do through my credit cards website. My “system” wouldn’t change at all. And in the event I lose my phone, I’ll have a replacement phone in 24 hours anyway. In reality, while my phone is certainly my hub, there’s nothing that I couldn’t do or get done if my phone was unavailable for some reason.

I understand the fears and worries people have about going cashless. And when I’m traveling, I do make sure to have at least some cash on me. But almost strictly using credit cards not only simplifies my financial life, with reward cards, I get free flights, hotel stays, cash back and other perks and benefits.

I see what your saying. I guess part of my problem is that my business deals in mostly cash. It doesn't make sense for me to deposit cash just to use a card. Not to mention if you deposit a lot of cash in your personal account all the time, you become interesting to some people.. lol

  7. My understanding is if they serve food you can carry in the areas designated as restaurant. Strictly bar area that serves alcohol is off limits. Also any bar or restaurant that post " no firearms or concealed weapons allowed" means that you cannot carry in that establishment, albeit they have to ask you to leave, if you don't then the police can get involved. That is my understanding of the law

  8. Why? Obviously he probably would have paid you back plus some. I know if that happened to me I’m taking the guys name and either Venmo him the money right then and there or get his address and mail him a check. I’m not sure what the guy being rich has anything to do with it. Escalade or Pinto I’m helping a guy out.

This happened out on the interstate and the guy was from Pennsylvania.i would help anyone as well but I draw the line when your to ignorant to not pay attention to the gauges in your vehicle, and you don't carry any cash while traveling in case of emergency.

  9. I don't need to keep personal receipts (except my business receipts which I turn in bi weekly and for any purchase which I may need to return). I get a notification from my app every time a transaction is made. It tells me when, how much, and where my card was used. I know right away if a fraudulent transaction was made. And then I also use the app to immediately make the payment. No need to match up receipts at the end of the month, and I haven't written a check to make a CC payment in years. As I mentioned before, my card app also categorizes and tracks my spending, making budgeting and doing taxes much easier during tax time. I think it's worth the extra tiny step (it literally takes less than 5 seconds) of setting up the payment (as I said, I pay my CC transactions off weekly, and sometimes daily) as I'm getting rewards and saving myself headaches every February when I do my taxes.

Glad that it works for you. But just curious, what happens when you lose your phone or it is stolen?

  10. But it's not small size, it's a midsize pickup just like the Colorado and the Canyon from GM. I've been following the recent articles and reading a lot of comments, there are a lot of people that think it's a mistake. Only one engine and transmission choice. If it does sell and starts eating into the F-150 sales that will not be good for Ford who has been #1 in the truck market for 40 years in a row in sales of the F-150. As a Ford fan who has a 1996 Ford Ranger XLT bought brand new, I'm still not decided on what I think about the new Ranger.

What I have seen in the ranger specs puts it at the size of the original Chevy Colorado or Dodge Dakota. The newer body style Colorado is damn near the same size as the 90s 1500. The Dakota grew in size over the years as well. But so did the full size trucks.

  11. On another note. You guys that don't carry any cash I'll tell you a little story. Guy standing at agas station begging for someone to give him money so he could get gas. He had ran out, coasted up to the pump only to find out that the stations credit card machine was not working. He had no cash on him so he could not gas. No one was giving the guy driving the $60,000 Escalade any cash. I don't know what happened to him, I payed for my gas and drove off. Laughing all the way home about the rich guy with no money. Lol

  12. Yep. Can't remember the last time I even thought about balancing my checking account. I rarely write checks....the only money that goes out of my checking out for the most part is to pay my credit cards that I've used, and for my mortgage and car payments that are automatically debited.

I really don't see how keeping, tracking, analyzing, and entering cash receipts is easier than doing the same with credit card receipts. Not to mention, my credit card transactions are available on my electronic statement that I can access at any time, unlike cash receipts.

So you don't keep the receipts when you sign using your credit or debit card? How would you know if your card was charged correctly or charged for something that wasn't yours? If you keep those receipts, then check them against your credit card statement, then mail a check to pay for all the transactions you made on the card, your making more actions to pay for something that just paying for it on the spot. I understand you along with others think it's easier, I do not. The only reciepts I need to keep are anything for my business. Personal stuff it's payed for on the spot it's over and done. What would I need receipts from a restaurant or amusement park or getting my haircut for? To each his own....

  13. All cash all the time. Only thing I don't pay in cash is house payment, car payment, and utilities. I don't have time to look at bank statements every month to see where I spent money. And as many transactions as I go thru I would never be able to keep up with it. Pay cash get a receipt, it's done. Don't have to do any further steps

  14. Panda- I respect you and your opinions and agree with you that he is a good coach. He is a great teacher of the fundamentals and I would trust him with my team any time. However, in general I do not like the comparison of HS coaching to AAU coaching. High school 90% of the time you are dealt a hand and you have to play it. AAU 100% of the time you select the kids that best fit your style and needs, those kids are easy to coach and produce results.

I would disagree 100%. Not all AAU teams are hand picked. Not even close to all. Yes your top teams in the state or the nation are for sure, but that leaves a whole bunch of kids playing AAU that we're be not " hand picked". I have witnessed an AAU coach ''dealt players" that couldn't win a single game and get blowed out by 60 in 7th grade and by the following season they were contenders in everything they played and even winning some. Season after that they won way more than they ever lost. That is a real coach in my book. Had nothing to do with high school kids or AAU, as they were both.

  15. Checked out the menu and it didn’t mention any. Some places keep the cheap crap around for guys like me. I’ll likely try it once and be done unless they have a version that does not make me fell like I need to shave my teeth after I drink it.

They say you should drink beer for the flavor. Then why do all these micro brews and specialty brews taste like crap to me? I'll take my Coors light please. Draft if possible.

  16. Former assistant at NDA and Shooting stars AAU coach for awhile and was the TMC assistant who took in Sydney Moss causing them to have to vacate their national championship. I am not sure what he has been up to most recently.

He was the man in charge of the basketball program at town and country sports complex in Wilder when it opened 2 years ago. Not sure if he still there or not. I believe he played ball at TMC as well

  17. If the info about the vehicle wasnt givin to the officers, why didn't they ask the dispatch what kind of vehicle they were looking for? Other wise they were looking aimlessly. And if they knew that it was someone trapped in a vehicle, why did they not get out and look car to car? You sure as hell can't see inside of cars real well if your inside your own car.
