  1. One more day!!! Happy thanksgiving to all and hope everybody gets to spend quality time with their families today before the big game tomorrow! Can't wait for tomorrow!
  2. I love seeing mayfield fans talk about the past. The games you won in 1910 should help you guys win the game Friday get real. 1A is definitely inferior to the teams desales has played last few years in 2a and out of 2a. I mean they played Williamsburg last two years in state championship. The past is over and the present and future is here. Mayfield is a juggernaut no longer. Desales is here and isn't going away anytime soon. This semi final game will be tougher than their 3 straight championship games
  3. Desales played Caldwell in the state semi finals in 2012. It was coach Davis' first year. I was on the team. We were down 31-7 at half in a 3-4 defense. Switched to our normal defense which was a 4-3 in the second half and the final score was 43-31. Safe to say desales has stuck with the 4-3 since then and has been AWESOME.
  4. Mayfield fans sure seem confident in their team, but let me remind you this isn't class A football. You're playing a 2a powerhouse that could keep up with any 6a team any day of the week. This is nowhere near desales best team ever. I can think of teams that didn't win championships that are better than this one, 2009 for example. Mayfield couldn't put 30 points on desales defense in their wildest dreams. You all are cocky and rightfully so, but Mayfield will get a true welcoming to 2a powerhouse football on Friday.
  5. Mayfield has been tough at home in years past, but on crucial variable missing... They've never had to play the COLTS. Desales defense is dominant and if o line and Johnson come to play like they did against cal, nobody in 2a can beat them. Hard week of work and studying film will have the colts poised to knock off the 3 time defending champs. Desales 26 mayfield 17
  6. I've never seen a Christian school act the way cal does. They late hit and cheap shot like any other team I've seen before. Not a lot of respect for them, but a good football team and great coaching. Future looks bright for the centurions.
  7. I understand completely and that was in no way meant to take anything away from cal and their success. This game will be won on big plays on blown assignments. I think both teams can force their opponent to commit an error like this at least once, but I believe desales capitalizes on turnovers this time and comes out with the W. Look for this game to be 0-0 or 7-0 cal at half and the colts hit the gates running in the second half.
  8. 16-0 does not accurately describe the first games between these two powerhouses. The game was much closer than the score reflects and a to here or there for the other team completely changes the game. With that being said, anyone who has seen either team play should know that most score predictions that I've seen are way too high. Both teams won't score 28 points combined, much less one team alone. I played against cal in 2012. We lost regular season in what seemed like a decisive win at 30-21, but we won in the playoffs 21-16. Why? Desales brings it to another level when it comes to the playoffs. Why is it different during the regular season? I'm not sure, but please don't mistake the colts that will play Friday for the same colts that lost 16-0 in the regular season. The desales offense has been much more stagnant this year than in recent years, but expect a big game from Tharp, Johnson, and Simpson. Also, look out for that secondary of desales. Overlooked most years, but Wheatley sealed the victory last year against cal with a pick. My pick: Desales 10 CAL 7 in a very slow, boring, but defensive packed game!
  9. 2013 desales high school grad. Played football and baseball. Went on to play football in college at Centre College as a cornerback. Love the game and know A LOT about it and a lot about the teams in my area.
