I'm actually a Graves County Eagle fan, but sense I live in Mayfield I cheer for both..I'm just having a little fun..just looking forward to hopefully an exciting football season..regardless of whatever team wins the 2a championship, i think we can all safely say that it will be a tough task.. -

I'm just stirring the pot and having a little fun doing so..2a is going to be great regardless of which team you cheer for..so best of luck to all teams and when it's all over..just be sure to congratulate your 11 time state champion..mayfield cardinals. Lol. -
Graves will win the district..then come playoff time I feel it will be Owensboro, graves, bowling Green brawling for the region..although I'm a eagle fan..im really liking Owensboro 's chances this year..

Christian County will be a good team this year, IMO..i just personally don't think it's their year..i view them as district runner up, and losing in first round of playoffs..

5a is wide open this year with more then 3 teams that can take it all the way..as graves county proved last season, any team can be beat and any streak can be broken..all I'm gonna say is there's a team on the rise..through hardwork, teamwork, believing in yourselves, & through god..all things are possible..looking forward to 2015 season..oh, and Go Eagles!! -

Graves county has many unanswered questions this year..#1 being the fact that a freshman may be taking the snaps and calling the shots..the eagles are coming off of a unbelievable season and are hyped about the potential to advance far once again..Crider is gone & in order for graves to advance many players must step up..but keep in mind..just one year ago, graves did the unthinkable, they beat John hardin, they beat bowling green (broke the streak), and because state runners up..now, I'm a die-hard eagle fan, & I know there are many obstacles in the way, but I truly feel graves is the 5th-7th best team in 5a in 2015..jmo! -
Would love to see graves county continue to build on last year's success..i look forward to seeing what this year has in store for them..hopefully they can find a way to punch their ticket back to the 5a championship game again..regardless, best of luck to all teams..go eagles!

Fulton County:Ground game
Eagle_Pride!! replied to newarkcatholicfan's topic in KY Football (High School)
Both Fulton city & Fulton County have a few exceptional athletes..just they don't have the numbers to compete with other teams.they are forced to play most players both ways..in order to be successful they must come together as a team, have a coach for the long haul, believe in themselves, and try to increase numbers..until this happens they will continue on the decline..I'm predicting a 1-9 season for both Fulton teams.. -

I agree they will probably lose a few games.i would personally love to see rogers get a state title and Tilghman needs a great season to help rogers build the program to his expectations.. Me, i like the old school type offenses...the wishbone, offset I, Heavy jumbo, etc. But, best of luck to all teams in 3a..should be exciting to watch! -

I think the team that will fly under the radar this season will be madisonville - north hopkins..their new coach Jay Burgett was a stand-up at mayfield hs and at murray state university..this team will be young, losing 18 to graduation, but should coach find the right people for the right positions, then I think with his toughest and defensive knowledge, that this team can beat a few unsuspecting teams and have a decent season. -

The reason I feel rogers' wing-t offense doesn't fit Tilghman is because he seems to limit the looks to 5-6 different views..he runs 70 percent of the time..Tilghman is scheduled against great competition in the early part of their season..visiting teams are gonna stack the box forcing tilghman (rogers) to beat them in the air..rogers style does not fit an air attack offense..he had some success at graves and warren central with the wing-t..but once teams figured out his limited play differential then they simply put the extra man in the box and forced you to beat them..jmo. -

Tilghman has the potential to win it all this year, but it seems as of late that u never really know what kinda team will show up when Tilghman takes the field..coach Mike Rogers is a very good coach..i just don't feel that the wing-t fits Tilghman style..should Rogers get them believing in him and his wing-t system then there is potential for this group to make a very deep run at the 3a championship... -

Russellville or beechwood will be where the 1a championship comes from this year..as previously stated, Russellville has a great coach in myers, & he is notorious for shaking things up during a game & making it competitive..beechwood seems to always try to win the games in the trenches..if they are able to establish that early then they can most definitely control the games..imo. -
Personally, i feel that Mayfield can compete with any team..they always seem to find a way to win & they've been doing it that way for over 100 years..add the fact that these kids know how to win, one of the best coaching staff in the state, and the rich tradition..it will be safe to say that the train to the 2a championship rolls through mayfield & war memorial stadium ( one of the state's toughest places for visiting teams to win)..
