  1. Both are quality teams with significant depth. I would say Cov Cath has more depth, but how is it utilized. I mean they had more depth than anyone last year, but only played six guys in the regional finals negating the supposed "depth". Also to say Michael Mayer is the top sophomore in the state is a stretch. Nice player, but according to what recruiting or ranking service is that?

    Prep hoops

  2. Cooper is the favorite in the ninth.....Sully has been able to add a lot of nice pieces with transfers their overall depth sets them apart from Covington Catholic

So how exactly does your ranking service work? You have two players ranked above Coopers best player. CCH also has a d2 player. Then they have a D1 football player that's top 10 in the region and we can't forget about young Michael Mayer top 3 sophomore in the state, but yet your ranking service has Cooper as the favorite??

  3. I can assure you he is not behind Ollier (totally different players/positions) and I am not aware how Shidler's and Houston's summer ball went but I do know that Baker will be a force based upon watching him the majority of the summer with KY Select. All four players will be solid contributors and while I don't worry so much with who's on the floor at the start of the game but more at the end of the game, I will be somewhat surprised if Baker isn't in the starting lineup or the first player off the bench as he will be the most athletic big for Cooper who will bang and be able to put it on the floor and get to the basket. Cooper will have some solid depth that I think they didn't have last year the above players mentioned as well as Hampton and Spencer being able to contribute.

CCH will be the favorite as they should be but the Jags should be there in the end to make a run at the 9th.

How about billups has he gotten stronger? Did he have a good year in summer ball?

  4. Simple CJ is better. CJ dominated Adam in a aau game this year so that’s a false statement. IOWA vs Belmont . Big Ten vs OVC ? Enough said. Cj is the unanimous number 1 ranked player in the state coming out of the summer while Adam slipped out of many scouts and rankings services top ten . He really struggled . They played one regular season game and one aau game its not like they have went at each other a ton . Adam is a great player and Belmont was his biggest best offer . While CJ had Xavier , Nebraska , Ohio State , Michigan and others from what I read so obviously it’s not close

I'm not a college scout but I've seen them both play a lot and it's not that clear to me. Only time will tell.

  5. He burned it up at the AAU Nationals over the summer.

I think the kid is a nice player but saying he burned it up in aau nationals means nothing. I believe they play in D3 nationals and all nationals r not real good once u get in the hs level. All your talent is playing in exposure events.

  6. I hope the order stays the same just like it did last year until the regional finals and the Cooper Jags pull the "upset" again. CCH will be a challenge and should be the favorite with CJ and Jake but Cooper already had 3 of 5 starters returning (albeit the 2 that graduated were absolutely great) but when you add in the 3 newcomers (2 from HC and 1 from CCH) Cooper will very very deep.

Another team to keep one eye on is Boone. I watched 3 of their players most of this summer and I will tell you that Ethan Haynes game has been elevated to a very high degree that most people are not aware of.

I know Houston will contribute but do u think the other two transfers will help out that much?

  7. Club Ohio (Johnson) has 3 northern Ky kids Caleb Bush (SK) Kevin Centers (Cooper) Mason Rusch (Calvery Christian)

Heck of a game between Nky finest and club Ohio. Would have loved to see Rusch make that game. Wish they could have figured something out in the bracket not to have a extra game for four teams. Club Ohio led by as much as 11 in the first half but couldn't close the deal to a great team and lost by 7 but we're only down by 3 with 30 seconds left
