I thought I had heard Powell was supposed to be improved this year? Are they not?
-
14 carries for 156 and a touchdown last year against PC.
Pretty sure he had 20+ carries and they threw it to him a handful of times in playoffs. Look for some similar looks for him this entire season if they're going to fulfill their preseason expectations.

This may be a few of the real last rivalry games from Mason/Fleming. Not in the same district let alone region in basketball/baseball. Now they aren't even in the same football class and district. Enjoy it while you can.
I think both schools will make an effort to keep the rivalry going. Regions and classes don't make much difference here. These two schools just plain don't like each other and love beating each other.

Cats were off last week, so extra time to prepare for Nicholas. Let's see if it pays off. I would think a key would be to stop Zach Richardson, which they did not do last year.
If as much as he touched it last year in the playoffs vs Fairview is any indication on how they're going to use him this year, it may not be a bad idea to have quite a few players key on him and make the rest of the Jackets beat you.

As for the game, I think it's a toss-up. I'll go with Russell in a close one 21-20.

I never said West Carter was a bad team.
You literally said you saw Greenup tie a bad team at the grid?

Are Richardson and Dailey not going to play in this game? Why not?
I am not sure. They did not play in the EKC Grid-o-Rama vs Fleming County is the only reason I said that.
-
I know nothing about Bethlehem but this is my prediction. If Richardson and Dailey do not play the score will be similar to last year's. If they do it will be a very close game, I'll give the edge to the Bluejackets. On paper one might not think two players make that much of a difference, but Dailey and Richardson will probably see 80-90% of the touches on offense this season. Combine that with how the Jackets played last week without them and you might have a team that thinks they're beat before the opening kickoff without them.

Raceland 28-6. I do think the speed of the Comet defense will give Raceland some fits. Kouns will be one of the best LB's they face all year.

#13 for Lewis County is Isaac Kelly
#18 is Tay Offutt
#15 is Austin Plank
#22 is Garrett Applegate
#12 is Bryson Passarella
#74 is Mason McRoberts
#21 for East Carter is Josh Ford

Thanks for the update. Wkill all Sat games be played early?
From what I've gathered Rowan and Russell will now play at 7 pm and Bath County and Raceland will now play at 9 pm.

OFFICIAL: Lewis County and East Carter will kickoff at 10:00 am Saturday morning
-
Just heard that the EKC may be moving tomorrow's games to the morning. I know Lewis County and East Carter have both been asked if they would mind a 10:00 am kickoff time.

Will Fleming Co. have spill over problems in filling the basketball jobs after the administrative debaucle in canning the football coach? Losing three head coaches within a month with the Supt. being quoted in the paper so degrading of the football players that wanted to speak at the Board meeting has to give quality candidates pause.
That was Rowan that fired their football coach not Fleming.

A lot of young guys got experience last year that they normally wouldn't have but due to injuries they had to play. That will help the Lions out a lot this year. The junior class has a lot of athletes and a lot depends on how they work and develop this summer. I expect a much better season for Lewis County in 2016.

Good win for my Lions!

So they're in the same district yet they're not to play games at Augusta and St Pat's? Will they take a loss?
They do not have to play each other in the regular season if their district doesn't seed.

He's a great kid
Yes he is!
-
That's what I thought, is he going to be playing in Lewis? I think he's playing baseball right now there so I assume so.
Yes, he is on the baseball team and has lifted with the football team a few times after school when he is free from baseball.
