According you can not have all three teams practice together unless they are all in HS. Also some coaches don't have the time to run three teams. Most head coaches know who they want to develop off the lower teams for next years varsity. If you run a program you are looking towards the future with your younger kids but also understand club soccer helps greatly with their development so you encourage them to play for CUP, KHA Academy teams, Ohio Elite, CSA, etc on their very best teams. Not the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th level teams.

Any surprises? Also will the St. Henry vs. South Oldham game be made up?

The field at Boone was shocking and I am worried for people that have to play on the field in a few weeks. Soccer is a game where the field and surface matters and I hope school systems across KY address the safety and designs of stadiums that are becoming outdated. It was nice of Boone to host but lots of risks with the surface and the drains around the field. Glad everyone stayed safe. Have a great fall season.

Anyone know if Dixie Heights has any local scrimmages?

Ryle v Holy Cross could be a good match. HC has some good young kids. Highlands v Brossart will be a good game.

Who is your team scrimmaging? When and where?

Got to know Coach Jackson over the last few years....a very good man with extreme pride in his program! He works hard for his players and does much more than many other football coaches. He has done good stuff at Ballard and would make any school proud.

NDA also has a starting gker who is not playing HS and a few key kids out with ACL injuries. They will always be talented but a couple special kids are not playing. I still expect them to be the class of nky.

I think it is toughest on the kids to not hear a different voice and to not experience different coaching styles. Players develop more when they are exposed to different experiences and are not "comfortable". Players could become comfortable with just one voice.

I think teams got placed based upon their request. Not sure why teams wanted levels below their talent and ability but everyone has different goals for the weekend.

Should be some good games.

The goalkeeper was put out of manual with a few days left in the year. Does not live in Jeff Co Will be at Bullitt Co this fall from what I hear.

He was not going to play high school last year, which his father was very clear about but then after preseason and some games he ended up coming out for the team. Yes he will continue to play with the Rovers and is even on their PDL roster.

Male HS. Not sure if he will play club. Only played this year after Male lost some kids to being kicked off the team.

I would think one of the states largest soccer areas would have kids that are some of the top kids in NKY which also would be in KY. By top kids in NKY I would refer to the top 5-7 girls in the area and then I would think they are some of the top kids in KY.

Libby Greenwell is a very good player but has had a bad run on injuries. She will get healthy and be good at UC.

Who are the top KY kids on the KHA Red current U17 girls, going to be U18?

If you are a top nky player you should also be a top player in KY.

Ohio Elite ECNL cut a nky player that only played spot minutes for them. No names out of respect but you have to be high end kid to be a top NKY player and in KY.

One was just cut from her club team....you don't get cut if you are a top player.

What is your school doing this summer to prepare for the season?

I don think over use is the issue, I think habits and genetics matter. Did we ever make a list of the top kids? I question a few of the kids that were listed based on what I have seen in club this spring.
