  1. Everyone has a different way of handling these games when some starters don't even start and maybe play 15 minutes and get stats or you play your full roster moving kids around. For both teams it is a mandated district game. No one complained when Tierney from NDA scored 4 goals v HC or Sherrard has 7 of her 9 goals in the 3 mercy rule games. That is what good players do they stand out. A coaches job is not to figure out how to waste time, etc. I don't see any benefit to these games but schools are mandated to play them and for kids that get kicked all season they enjoy a fun night of soccer. The Highlands score is not even the worst blow out of the season. 16-0 was what I found. It happens, I saw a score from Indiana that was 22-0. Some teams have the luxury of having 29 girls on their varsity roster like assumption and others do not. Trust me most of the good players do not like these games either but you take the bad with the good.
  2. Conner is a game they must play for the NKAC. Their coach is on the board for the conference. It is a mandatory game.
  3. Ekic is out for awhile. Surgery to repair her ACL in April.
  4. Most HS parents and kids that complain do so because of playing time but will say it is 10,000 other things. I would recommend people from highlands not throwing stones especially when you live in a glass house.
  5. They started the year with 2 seniors and they still have 2 seniors. Rumors are rumors but minus some bumps and bruises all is well at SK. love that everyone thinks they are in the know.
  6. NDA vs Beechwood Campbell vs Conner Boone vs Dixie Cooper vs Scott Ryle vs Simon Kenton Lexington Catholic vs Boyle Co South Oldham vs Tates Creek Thoughts on match ups?
  7. Mason is #13 in Ohio in the latest topdrawersoccer poll
  8. How did Ryle look? Who scored their goals?
  9. With the DA coming we don't want to run off all of the top soccer players.
  10. No one is worried about the girl. Think more question why you punish a kid for doing more soccer with high end players. Doesn't support the development theory.
  11. Heard from another player she was suspended for missing preseason stuff to participate in USYSA nationals with KHA u18.
  12. Was 3-1 SK till they went very deep on the bench. Very even game. West was older and SK a younger side. Good preseason match to watch.
  13. house divided sounds about right. I saw portions of both varsity matches.
  14. Soccer is allowed 2. Bgsg is a freebie. There are Not 3 allowed.
  15. Was at the SK game, the game started well after midnight. Kudos to Marksberry for the great event. Lots of young kids are excited about playing for the Pioneers!
  16. Bluegrass games are freebies. Doesn't count on the scrimmage count of 2. There once was a ref clinic where you got one free game, then the KHSAA ref clinic combined with BGSG. I assume there is profit for both. Now teams are encouraged to attend for free games for the team and it gives the refs a chance to see lots of situations to prepare for the fall. The ref clinic used to be hosted by schools and that could have led to the refs looking for a neutral site that is centralized and the BGSG needed the bump in teams to help promote this event for the commonwealth. BGSG is also freebies to volleyball too.
  17. In 14-15 this is what the bylaw said. So maybe it was changed but....
  18. Lots of places it is illegal. Remember NKY is not the only part of the state. Get off the high horse Sir!
  19. Many districts ban them as well. Jefferson, Fayette, Hardin, Kenton, etc. I believe the one you reference above is outdated and changed. Either way huge risks for the kids. Especially on the boys side where literally you have boys playing grown men.
  20. The KHSAA bans it no way around the bylaw.
  21. The KHSAA does not allow alumni scrimmages. This would violate KHSAA bylaws and would cause players to lose the KHSAA insurance.
