  1. Just be prepared to relinquish your credentials to Bird Brain when he doesn't approve of your comments.
  2. Webster Co. hung in against heavy weight Madisonville-NH last night. MNH 4 WC 0
  3. I really do like the fact these rankings cover all the teams, but much like MaxPreps they are somewhat skewed. A majority of the team records do not match what KHSAA reports (which are correct for the teams I cross checked). The release date of the rankings was taken into consideration as well. Still better than nothing as no system is perfect.
  4. Yeah, I'd like to make the Hickman / Carlisle game (obviously if it sets up). Harpole and O'Daniel combined for all 30 innings in that first matchup! They pitched all 14 innings of the second game, and I assume the third game as well.
  5. District 1 (at Fulton County) #1 Hickman County Lady Falcons #2 Carlisle County Lady Comets #3 Fulton City Lady Bulldogs #4 Fulton County Lady Pilots Hickman County and Carlisle County advance with ease for a fourth meeting. This shapes up to be the best matchup of the week. Carlisle beat Hickman 3-1 in an epic 15 inning game in the 1st Region All "A" Classic semifinals. Hickman swept district season play by beating Carlisle 2-1 in each meeting. Defending champ: Hickman County Prediction: flip a coin District 2 (at McCracken County) #1 McCracken County Lady Mustangs #2 Paducah Tilghman Blue Tornado #3 St. Mary Lady Vikings No surprises here, McCracken County handles Paducah Tilghman after the Blue Tornado cruise past St. Mary. Defending champ: McCracken County Prediction: McCracken County District 3 (at Mayfield) #1 Ballard Memorial Lady Bombers #2 Graves County Lady Eagles #3 Mayfield Lady Cardinals Graves County takes care of cross town foe Mayfield before meeting Ballard Memorial in the championship game. The two split in season play each winning at home. I'll give the advantage to Graves County as they look to live up to preseason expectations. Defending champ: Ballard Memorial Prediction: Graves County District 4 (at Murray) #1 Marshall County Lady Marshals #2 Murray Lady Tigers #3 Calloway County Lakers Healthy, and sometimes heated, rivals make this district very competitive. Murray and Calloway County split in season each winning at home. The Murray bats, along with All "A" tournament experience, should be the difference in getting them past their cross town rival. Marshall County and Murray split in season each winning on the road. It will take another great pitching performance by Bayleigh Blane for the Lady Tigers to repeat as district champs. Marshall County has been playing very well down the stretch jumping back into the top 25. Since their home loss to Murray, they have beaten Christian Co, Mercy, Warren East, Greenwood, Holy Cross, and Assumption. Their only other loss was to Owensboro Catholic with all games being on the road or at neutral sites. Advantage Lady Marshals in my game of the week. Defending champs: Murray Prediction: Marshall County
  6. The 2nd region is as deep as you'll find statewide. Madisonville-NH, Union Co, and Christian Co have been top 25 all season with Lyon Co in and out. I've seen Webster Co play and they are a solid ball club. Caldwell Co & Henderson Co are no slouches, and a very young Crittenden Co team is improving. From what I understand the Lady Rockets have some nice 7th / 8th grade talent. Madisonville-NH should take the title, but an upset would make the 2nd region tournament very interesting.

  8. Yep, it was a great run. Due to variables in pitching, I feel baseball is a difficult sport to maintain long winning streaks.
  9. Hope they keep it up!! Enjoyed watching them play last year at state.
  10. Nice updates, good game between two outstanding teams.
  11. ^^I've seen this kid at the State Tournament. You're absolutely right, so fun to watch and he takes it very serious. He is one of those great things that adds to the atmosphere of amateur sports.
  12. Lady Maroons get another one run victory over the Lady Mustangs. A 2-run walk off HR in the 7th finished it in dramatic fashion. Earlier this year, MNH won 9-8 in Madisonville accounting for both of McCracken's losses.
