  1. Its your first post and you are already criticizing other peoples posts.

Yeah he is a headcase. Left the team at least twice, refused to go in games. Thats what he is. He can change but that is yet to be seen.

Well, I've got a few post under my belt so let me chime in. Yeah, I think its a little premature to call the kid a "headcase". If refusing to enter a game makes you a "headcase", you might want to label #3 in your avatar a "headcase". I remember a night in Radcliffe when your boy refused to re-enter a game causing his coach to scramble for a QB and have to waste a time-out.

  2. Like I said he is a good recruiter........Enough said.

Well Brady coached LSU to a win over Gillispie in the NCAA last year when Billy elected not to foul with seconds left and only a three could beat his team. Sound familiar? Tubby got roasted on this board for the same crime in the State game. Then this year Brady coached his way to another victory over Gillispie during one of LSU's worst years while A&M was having one of their best years ever. Is that all recruiting?

FYI, Brady coached LSU to a victory over recruiting wizard Billy Donovan earlier this year as well.

  3. I do see a difference between violations of the law and violations of team rules. Call me crazy, but it is not the same to me.

However, you really do seem to take great pride in having the team you cheer for have so many altercations and have the police involved. Nice.

Go back and read the entire thread. I didn't bring LSU or any other team into the discussion. I simply stated that UK has a high number of suspensions lately. It must have touched a nerve with the UK faithful because a firestorm erupted. Do you disagree with that point?

Show me where I take pride in off field altercations. That is a huge leap on your part. I simply said that most of the icidents that were posted sounded like boys being boys. I fractured a few laws back in college myself. I can't say that I'm proud or particularly ashamed of the fact. Thats life on campus. FYI, the police were involved in the Bo Smith incident, he returned to UK's team once his health allowed.

  4. We're all dying my friend, its just a matter of time. Here is what he had to say, so you tell me what this means:

John Edwards said tests this week had shown his wife, Elizabeth, had cancer in a rib on her right side. He said the cancer is treatable but not curable.

So yes, this cancer is going to eventually get the best of her.

Great retort Wireman, you really put the muzzle on Fletch.

  5. The statistics are that more students in Jefferson go from the publics to the privates than from private to public.

Manual has more of these "transfers" than X.

I want to represent the Catholic family whose children go to Catholic elementary, can't afford Catholic High school, and have to sit out one year, especially if due to job loss, etc.

And yes, X and T did request more money for investigators to watch recruiting which the publics and Board rejected.

Is your first sentence correct? It doesn't seem to agree with your second point.

  6. If ANY exceptions are made the KHSAA should call Prop 2 what it is, a measure to "help" public schools and "punish" private schools

Is there any doubt that this is the intention? Pick up any paper and read any article on the subject. It is full of "level the playing field" and "restrict the private schools" etc. It will end up in court, and I predict the measure will be ruled unlawful. JMO, of course.

  7. I don't remember bringing UK into the discussion. Wasn't even comparing the two. It's called an obsession with big brother

I was just establishing a baseline to counter your claim. Save the "big brother" talk for your UofL friends.

  8. Did anyone think that UK wasn't going to be the media's punching bag for a while after recent developments? They ran off (in the minds of the media) a very popular, very successful (by most school's standards) African American coach to go after the young hot coach only to be scorned. They then hire a guy that has great upside but is a little on the green side (5 years as a head coach) for UK standards. This is a formula for the talking heads to take their shots. Of course winning cures all. JMO, of course.

  9. So just because they win ballgames then what they do is ok?? Yeah that makes a lot of sense.

No but I don't think some college students getting into a fight is earth shattering. Look back at the origin of this thread. I asked the question if UK seemed to have a lot of suspensions. The two answers I got were "we're glad coach Brooks suspends the players" and "your team has had its problems as well". The fact remains that UK has a high number of suspensions over rules violations. They have had a gun incident and their share of fights as well (the big difference in this one was that the UK player got his butt whipped with a baseball bat).

  10. 1. I don't think this rule will be into effect this year or next year, if ever.

    2. If he attends a public independent school and transfers to a public county school, Prop 2 (prop 2 is only in effect when a student transfers from a public to a private, or from a private to a public) will not apply, bylaw 6 (the transfer rule) will apply - put does not apply until he is in 9th grade.

So he will be legal to transfer, at the conclusion of his 7th or 8th grade year, from a public independent school to a public county school with out penalty.

If this is true it kind of disproves the claim that public/independent schools are restricted to defined "feeder" schools.

Mods, why is this thread in the football forum? Does prop 2 deal with only football? Isn't this more suited to the public/private forum?

  11. Let's say that I am a parent of a recruit in the middle of allegation of recruiting. I don't want to testify. I am not a member of the KHSAA. How do they get any information from me without me agreeing to it?

Also, if I agree and it is not a subpoena which I assume means the testimony becomes under oath, how do they know I am telling the truth without simply believing that I am telling the truth rather than saying what I want so my child is eligible?

Another scenario. An owner of a large company offers me a job at Company X in Louisville and encourages me to enroll my child, first team All-State as a freshmen at school Y in Louisville. Allegations are made. How do they ever get me or the owner of the company to testify on that matter? We aren't members of the KHSAA. Yes, the school members will have to testify, but how about the two of us?

We aren't talking about laws here, we are talking about rules. If someones parents are willing to lie like you say, there is little we can do about it. That kind of behavior will be handled at a later date and I'm at peace with that. Your last paragraph is a little bit cloak and dagger by my experience. It may be happening out in the country but I haven't seen or heard of such things around here.

  12. That is too funny!

The part that is really funny is that if you bothered to read the stories you would see that a few athletes got in trouble for kicking some butts (the last two posts were about the same incident). Another was about a back-up that was juicing to get better. All this on a team that wins a bunch of games including a 49-0 dismantling of your beloved Wildcats. Meanwhile the Wildcats are getting suspended in record numbers for being too dumb to attend class. I believe the joke is on you.
