If Groinpull is correct about the CCH players who may be out for this match, I'll pick Cov Cath to win 1-0. If one or more of the 3 Cov Cath players are available to play significant minutes, I'll upgrade my pick to 2-0 Cov Cath.

You guys are definitely speaking about Edwin Garcia. Edwin is a very dynamic offensive threat. His speed and skill are tough to defend. However, TC's back line can be a bit unorganized at times so I think this one will be close. I will go with TC 2, NCC 1.

This one will not be close. Bourbon County is really struggling this year and they have no decent results against quality teams. Scott will mercy rule them.

Great win for Scott. Ballard is a legitimate top 5 team.

Although Ballard does not have any individuals who are a talented as Treadway, they are solid at every position. Ballard has played much tougher competition than Scott up to this point of the season and has several quality results (wins against St. X, Bowling Green, NCC and Manual and a tie against Dunbar). I pick Ballard to win 2-1.

It's actually Lexington Christian Academy against Ryle. Ryle should win this one fairly easily. LCA lost one of its top defenders to an injury last week and they have little depth. Ryle is more organized in the back and LCA lacks a consistent offensive attack. Ryle should win by at least a couple of goals. I'll say Ryle wins 3-1.

I saw Montgomery County early in the season and they have good speed up top and better than average midfielders and defenders. They are very physical as well. I'll say 2-1 Montgomery County.

Nice response Jason. I am a big fan of Sam's and he is definitely a major D1 player. Sure wish I could have watched the match. There are a lot of quality kids on both Trinity and CCH. I would not be surprised to see a rematch between these teams in the state tournament. See you in Cumberland County (now you know who I am)!

I agree with groinpull, Trinity, Bowling Green and South Oldham all appear to be strong. I would throw Ballard in the mix as a potential sleeper. They have a nice win over South Oldham and tied Dunbar. None of the Lexington teams are showing consistently well yet although Henry Clay should develop into a strong squad as the season progresses.

The Tates Creek vs. Dunbar score you referred to was from a girls match last week. The boys teams do not play until mid-September.

LexCath is rebuilding this year. They were quite "average" last year. They do have a couple of nice players with Hayes and Yohon and a very capable coach in Kinchloe. However, I expect CCH to handle them. Schuh and Lilly have played against Hayes and Yohon in club ball for years and they should know how to keep them marked.
