  1. Ohio issues stay at home order
  2. New York just reported they are at +15k. That’s a crazy jump.
  3. Yep, and here is more bad news; Italy has more beds per thousand residents than the United States. That’s an average, and we know here that our beds are concentrated in urban hospitals. Not good for us rural folks.
  4. That’s true. If they tested like they said then there is a great chance the numbers are much lower. Sadly, your description of Italy in the lead up to this hit close to home.
  5. I read about Russia’s success, but strangely they are reporting a large increase in cases of pneumonia. Russia falls into that category of shoddy information.
  6. Is Italy getting hit harder or is the rest of the world behind the worst of it? The only two countries that are farther along in the crisis is China and Iran, and I wouldn’t trust them to tell the truth on where the sun comes up. Fortunately, our death totals are behind Italy from when they had their 20k case. Let’s hope it stays that way, but I’m really afraid we will have a rough 2 weeks on our hands with the death count with hospitals running out of materials and this reaching areas that just aren’t medically prepared. I mentioned this in another thread, but that “preexisting conditions” label is a misnomer. A high percentage of Americans have a “preexisting condition” like hypertension, diabetes, etc. Some reports have even included obesity in that category. “Preexisting conditions” is giving some a false sense of security.
  7. One of the early low estimates had the US at 10k cases by the end of the month. We’ve blown past this now at 24k with 10 days to go.
  8. Isn’t KY at 47?
  9. If so, it’s good news, but we will still be on the ride over the next 2 weeks. It’s doubtful testing and production will make it available to help by then.
  10. Not one bit.
  11. This seems to be hitting the US a little different. Might want to get out of the bars and off the beaches. A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention analysis of U.S. cases from Feb. 12 to March 16 released Wednesday shows 38 percent of those sick enough to be hospitalized were younger than 55. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/03/19/younger-adults-are-large-percentage-coronavirus-hospitalizations-united-states-according-new-cdc-data/
  12. This. If anybody has any doubt about China's responsibility in this watch this.
  13. :wideyed: I'm gonna go on a limb and say expanded testing will eventually shut you guys down.
  14. Sadly, I did. Stupidity like that will put us on full lockdown.
  15. Hate to be Captain Obvious or Debbie Downer, but I think we may be still in the 1st Quarter of this.
  16. If I’m WV I do the same thing everybody else is doing. No cases and no deaths is great news; let’s keep it that way.
  17. Las Vegas has started to close hotels. If people aren’t buying the severity now they’re just plain stupid!!
  18. Wonder delivery will still be up and running ? Door dash, Grubhub and pizza places.
  19. It will be like starting all over. What a nightmare !!
  20. You’re right. I put a “to” in and it misrepresented the data. The stat was supposed to show the jump from 600+ deaths to 800+ deaths.
  21. Just glad people are coming to their senses. Maybe we can get this slowed.
  22. On a light note, when the schools in the Wuhan province closed schools and moved all coursework to an app called Ding Talk students found a way to get out of homework for a few days by consistently rating the app 1-star leading to the removal of the app by the app store.
  23. Not in the USA. Asian countries took some crazy measures to stop the spread that I don't think can happen here.
  24. Italy's death toll jumped to 30% yesterday, which is higher than China's (if you can believe them). We are either 2 weeks from this getting really scary or it starting to wane.
  25. Neil Degrasse-Tyson was on Stephen Colbert last week, and, although this is completely out of his expertise, I thought he made a good point. I'm paraphrasing, if America will trust science the Coronavirus will be something that will go away relatively quickly, but we are struggling with our trust in science these days, which could lead to more complications.
