  1. If both teams were healthy today, I'd take the Eagles by 2 TD's. Everyone is quick to give NewCath the benefit of the doubt because Smith didn't play against Scott. Yet you fail to take into account that Deondre Pleasant for Scott was limited the first 3 games of the season. Smith didn't do much against Campbell and Belfry so how do we know he would have had success against Scott? Because he averaged 10 yards per carry against a bad Harrison Cty team? The same week Pleasant averaged 17 yrds per carry against a better opponent but that doesn't get mentioned.

If you want to say with Scott's injuries, NewCath is better you won't get an argument from me but if you are using the 1st game of the year as your proof then I will beg to differ.

I have to agree with you on this !! If Scott was healthy they still get the edge. I still say if Tucker would not of gotten hurt in the first half of the conner game , Scott would be undefeated right now and holycross would of struggled more than they did. But injuries happen and are part of the game so Conner gets the edge and as far as Scott and Newcath Scott won head to head . They should be over Newcath.

  2. Important game for both teams . This starts conference play . Mason County has seemed to struggle, and Scott has started off descently. The injury bug has hit Scott hard in the past couple weeks . They found away to overcome that last Friday and pull out the win !! Any word on any of the injured players return?

  3. I for one was puzzled why HC charged Scott fans more for tickets than the HC fans. Then some of the adults in HC section had the nerve to tell people where they could and could not sit. How soon we forget that HC has to use Holmes field and at times has used Scott facilities as well. So dont act like HC is holier tha thou because they are not. The pregame music had more than enough profanity in it to be a Catholic school.

I agree. They were very rude there and I was shocked the way they acted as if they were better than Scott.

  4. Sounds like my son age wise. Was still 17 when he first went to college.

Yes . I see a red shirt in his future. Whever he ends up NAIA, D2, or wherever. Thier are always critics I told him learn to deal with that at an early age and you will be better off. He is young but has goals . He will end up playing ball at the next level , despite anyones opinion . It is great your son started college very young. You know what were up against then .

  5. Wait a minute, he's Junior, and he's 15 years old. Good lord, why in the world is this young man not a freshman, or at most a Soph. right now?

Yes he is only 15 and junior on the 4 games he has on huddle from this season . He was only 14 in sophmore highlights and started both oline and dline . He is a good kid, and has great grades. He knows what he needs to work on and is progressing . He will be just fine.

  6. Congrats to Conner! Came in and took care of business. Good halftime adjustments. Cougars moved the ball well in the 2nd half.

They did move the ball in the second half , but Scott was without Gage Tucker by 5 minutes left to go in the first half . My thoughts are with a healthy Tucker in the second half ...the results could of been different. He wanted to tape it and play . Trainers kept him sidelined.

  7. Isaiah Ebarb was our player of the game tonight. Kid was everywhere. Really nice receiver, made several plays on kickoffs, and also had the game winning punt return for a TD with around 7 minutes left in the game.

Padgett manages the offense well for Conner. Very effective with his legs and improvising when the pocket collapses, but also throws a decent ball to keep a defense honest.

For Scott, Perrin is the real deal. Young blood was doing his thing tonight and is very shifty. He compliments London well and honestly might be the best skill kid that Scott has.

Big time play by the Conner D-lineman that completely blew up Pleasant on the try for two.

Hopefully Gage Tucker (#71?) for Scott is ok. Didn't play in the second half due to a hand injury and word is he could be out for the season...tough break considering he is visiting Louisville tomorrow.

The visit for Gage Tucker went well. He follows up with doctor tomorrow. They may of kept him out for precautionary reasons. He appears not to have any discomfort . Thoughts now are it was jammed pretty good.

  8. Scott was one of the smallest 5A schools and traditionally has not had great football numbers, and there are lots of reasons for that. One, the soccer program is very strong, and draws some kids away from football. Most years, the difference between having a freshman team or not, is only a handful of kids. In addition to soccer, over the last few years the football program has lost some very good athletes for whom football was a secondary sport. Several have given up football for basketball and even a kid or two to wrestling. Second, the effects of the Taylor Mill Eagles feeder program are just beginning to be felt. This year Woodland has one of its bigger 8th grade classes (about 30 kids), and these kids have played together for 4 years as TM Eagles. But Woodland is not a huge school, and there are going to be years where numbers just will not be great, and that usually carries over to the freshman level. Not many kids are picking up football for the first time at the high school level anymore.

    AGREED.
