I have no problem with him being Gay or anything he wants to do with his life. I have to wonder though, why he chose to come out? I'm of the thinking of just live your life. Why the announcement?

Is there need for 18u travel teams anymore?
Rocky replied to Dingerbird's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I think there is still a need for 18U teams. Players love to play the game regardless of the circumstances. Whether they are going to college to play or if its their last year. Personally, I don't think it's a good idea for younger kids to primarily play on an 18U team. If they are wanting to gain exposure to receive a baseball scholarship. It's a known fact most scouts attend 16U 17U tourneys...Not saying that scouts do not attend 18U tournaments. Most of the time, if you see a scouts at an 18U tournament they are there to watch a individual player. -
Agree, Ryle lost leadership and players that contributed to a great season last year . Everyone wants to rank them in the the top of the region. Im not convinced they will be able to get out of their district.

Not sure about either of those two.

Academics is the key to it all. It doesn't matter if you are D1 caliber player or not. If your grades are not up to par you may be wasting your time. We all know a majority of baseball only receives 25%. A scholarship at that % is good but you and your parents are on the hook for the rest. As been stated, their freshman year is the most important.

This is pretty much in the ninth region predictions why start a new thread on it?

I read it's Beechwood's to lose!!!!!!!!

Did Deters have arm problems last year? Not sure how much Forbes will pitch. Blue has a pretty good arm also.I'm not sure they should be put at #1 considering how many seniors lost. Their district will be tough enough to get out of.

Top 15 Players in the state of Kentucky Regardless of Class
Rocky replied to price499's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Those are valid points, that's why there's a lot to consider when choosing a college to play baseball. It's not always the best choice to choose that big school that may cost 20,000 to 30,000 more than the lower tier D1. Also, if I were a recruit, NKU has an very attractive schedule. -

I totally agree Runner. I would like to think with the position they are in now and being able to compete in recruiting with the like of EKU, Morehead and other smaller D1 schools in the area, future recruiting will target more local athletes. -

Just curious, what makes it such a step down from those schools listed? -

Unfortunately that happens in most baseball programs. -

Maybe they have tried to get kids into their program? You have to remember NKU is only in their second year of D1. They couldn't compete with the other schools that have been mentioned earlier, so they had to go elsewhere to get talent. -

Rocky replied to Dingerbird's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
IMO, others could possibly win if they have good years. Alot of talent in the area. -

Rocky replied to Dingerbird's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
How do you figure only those 4 will have a chance to win? As Big Cat said, the guys Dingerbird listed are all close in talent. Now if you take in fan votes and hype then the guys you listed will probably win. -
He as well as other kids from the area that play for those type of teams.

Didn't they only had 2 or 3 Juniors in the lineup? IMO It will be a tall task to fill the holes that last years seniors left.
