Oh no. They would be great too. Josh has a great football background but John Hodge will not apply. They had their opportunity with him when they hired Mark Scenters. My concern is if none of they others apply and Coach Perry did.....they still won't give it to him. Heck, Louisville hired Petrino back.....why can't Garrard hire Perry back.

Fact is they have a hard time keeping coaches, my opinion is because they don't hire the right one, fact is Jerry Perry has applied for the head coaching job, my opinion is along with many others...and that is fact....that he should have already been hired, fact is there are Garrard alum that are coaching at other schools and aren't coaching at Garrard, my opinion is the reason is because they are alumni and they aren't "yes" people and the people that have been doing the hiring don't want someone with a strong opinion and fact is there are other issues besides hiring coaches, my opinion is they could do a whole lot better, fact is they hired a great superintendent, my opinion is the last couple wasn't so great.......I have more but my fingers are tired.....thats a fact!!!!!

You have a right to feel and think anyway you want but it will not change the fact they have a hard time with hiring coaches and keep them. ie....the boys basketball coaches!!!!

I want them to get it right for some many reasons but mainly for the kids to have a great experience. I still talk to some of the players that played for Coach Perry and they are so appreciative of everything he did for them....made men out of them and they will tell you they might not be the person they are today if it wasn't for him. That's the kind of coach I would want my kids to play for....so come on Garrard County get out of your comfort zone and get him hired.

I'm not John Hodge nor talking for him but I can say without a doubt that he will not be the next head coach.

I think the backlash will not only be from not hiring Perry but from other issues that have happened in the past.

I agree with all your points and I'm sure they don't go into the hiring process saying we are just going to hire someone to get it over with but I and alot of others have been very supportive.....even though it doesn't sound like it with my posts......of the school but I am at the end of my rope with some of those people in the school system and the way they do things. I keep telling myself it will get better and then something else crazy happens so at some point they need to look in the mirror as see what they need to change. I don't have all the answers but they could at least try something different. Just afraid they are scared to get out of their comfort zone. Get ready....there will be backlash from some if Coach Perry doesn't get the job!

I am a tax paying citizen of Garrard County. I'm not in education but am an educated person that knows what has gone on in the school system for a LONG time and I don't deal in terms of Oscar Mayer Bolgna.......I deal in terms of facts and the fact is they have had a hard time hiring the right coach's for their sports programs. Yes, I love GC but don't have to agree with the things that go on at the school. I know a lot of those young men on the football team and have watched them grow up....they are good bunch of kids that deserve better than a school system that settles to hire a coach because the best candiate isn't a "yes" person or a tool for the principle. Trust me when I tell you that the Jerry Perry hire ISN'T a done deal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's ashame because he should arleady be hired!

Boy Wonder and Central Sports, I have lived in Garrard County all my life and love Garrard County but I have seen alot of crap go on at that school. All I ever hear is "it's going to get better". Well it hasn't...whether it be athletics, academics or whatever. I'm going to tell you like it is and if you don't like it then so be it. I could go into more detail about other things dealing with academics but I don't because this is a sports forum......so trust me when I tell you I DON"T trust "the man" that is responsible for this football coaching hire. I as much as anyone want the kids of Garrard County to succeed in everything they do and the citizens of Lancaster should demand that it happen. There needs to be some major changes in the school and this coaching hire would be a good start. Believe me when I tell you the longer it goes on the less likely that Coach Perry will be the new coach.

You better be glad you left because if you were embarassed by the 1st half, the 2nd half was way worse. They scored 8 points in the second half. One of the Danville kids had a dunk in the first half that should have been on ESPN!!!!!!

I'm not sure it's as done of a deal as some people on here thinks it is. I'm hoping it is but the schools track record for hiring coach's scare's me a little!

Not sure there has been a train rolling in Lancaster.....that implies they have been running over other teams......that's not happening. They have had one successful year(12-2) and the rest they never made it past the second round of the playoff!!

This may be a true statement but remember his kid plays at Boyle County now and is a senior....I think!

Well this game didn't turn out to good for Garrard. A 47 lose to Danville.

Hope you right but it needs to be done and finished. The longer it's drawn out the less likely something good will happen.

I know most in the community likes him and would love for him to be the coach. It's not the community that will keep this from happening.

I think the reason he ended up at Boyle county was because Garrard County wouldn't or didn't give or let him keep his teaching job. I'm not 100% on this but it went something like that. As far as talking about Boyle County......did he bash them on the internet....don't think so....could he have been trying to motivate the team when they played Boyle......maybe. Need to move on from thinking he will be the coach.....not going to happen. Let's just hope the school will get a great coach for the school and especially the kids. I also believe he was head coach at the middle school and won a conference championship.

Haven't seen anyone say he shouldn't get involved.

A win at Danville would be good for the kids on the Garrard team......good luck Golden Lions!

I can remember the days when Coach Perry was there and on a Friday night home game it is was five and six rows of cars deep in the endzone where the scoreboard is located, so hopefully they will because that community will support their athletic teams monetarily and otherwise......cross your fingers things will be different this time!

Some people(coach's, parents, administration, etc.) need to watch what they say about a person because it could come back to bite them one day and when they are getting beat to death they might want to look in the mirror and see what they are doing wrong, instead of blaming the coach from the other team that is coaching his team to get better. Also, John Hodge is a winner......he won at the middle school level, was a part of numerous state championships at Boyle County, look at is record at Bourbon and if I'm not mistaken he was on a National Championship team at Georgetown College. What a resume'.................but wasn't good enough to be considered to be the head coach at Garrard County! SMH!!!!!

Not sure if the politics thing is directed at me or not, but no where in my posts have I said any of the hirings be political.....I blame the admin that was running the high school, so that's why I'm telling you the new super BETTER be involved in some way or things won't get any better.
