I recognize they have work to do, that's why they're at #3 instead of #1 . if this were a poll about the 2016-17 10th regions it'd be a different story. They were in my top 6 before Hinson even got there. Anyone who thinks all they're going to do is "win a few games" is gonna get hurt real bad when they roll around on your schedule :banana:

Scott Folks may think I have Bracken too high, but after seeing what Hinson did for Bach after one season the Hinson/Crawford combo has me intrigued. Crawford's support staff has some solid players as well, Hamilton comes to mind. I feel comfortable with where I have them.

Pig and Garrison are about it, next season is definitely going to be a rebuilding year.

Darius Miller? Preston Knowels? Chris Owens? Robbie Stenzel? Omar Prewitt? I love Bach to the moon and back but the time period he fell into contributed a lot to his success. Great player and definitely one of the best in this era, but not THE best.

I don't mind his build. He's just more of a traditional back to the basket player, a dying breed. However, his footwork needs major work if he's gonna use that build at the college level.

And the whole "he takes too many shots" is played out. Seems like every year some player has to take that complain. I think it just became fashionable to say that after the Kobe Bryant era. This past season Austin Crawford shot 134 threes and Connor Maddox shot 162 threes. I wanted to compare that to other quality shooting guards from the Maysville area, so I took a look. Shooters shoot, and when you coach at a school like A-Town, St. Pat, Bracken etc. you NEED your best guards taking a lot of 3s. Nature of the beast.

His 1-2-2 trap tore up Pendlton, Fleming, and Bracken at the end of the '09 season and then gave GRC fits in the region tournament. Season before that he implemented a very complex defense that upended Harrison County, bothered a very good MoCo team, and absolutely destroyed Fleming County in FNB classic. Season before that he put in a trap defense that shut down Dakota Euton and Chad Jackson etc. etc.................................

I've heard a few people say that and I honestly can't understand why. Jason has coached at two of the smallest schools in the 10th. He took St. Patrick from a 4 win season to the second best record in school history, got them to the region tournament for the first time in seven years and came within 6 points of knocking off a top 5 team in the state, with three injured starters, and oversaw the development of three of their all time greats (Owens, Anderson, & Mason). I'll grant he had trouble in the postseason while there, but i'd say he made up for it by pulling down back to back district titles and a class A region title while developing four of A-Towns all time greats (Bach, Maddox, Crawford, & Snapp). I feel like a lot of people have forgotten the ridiculous improvement Brent Bach made the summer after Hinson took over. I just don't understand what else he has to do. I for one am excited to see what he can do with a more size-able talent pool. I think this is just the beginning of what will be a hall of fame career in the 10th.

Well of course, but if a guy in a score-first position like a wing can put up points like that, it's usually safe to assume they can contribute pretty well to all aspects of the game. Though I will concede that a lot of guys like that can't guard this chair i'm sitting in, but I think that's more due to mindset than anything else.

That's kind of an ignorant statement. The kid has 1,500+ points as a sophmore. I know he got PT in middle school and I have to take Brackens strength of schedule into account, but that's an incredible feat if you play Calvary Christian 30 times :lol2:

I feel like the coaching announcement means Crawford stays at Bracken County. I don't feel like Jason would've taken the job if that was in question.

Oh no doubt, I have Bracken finishing top 5 in the region next season with Crawford and company. I'm just saying that trio at PC would be next level, no offense intended to the BC faithful :thumb:.

Agreed, not looking to cause any trouble for him. Just very curious about the potential impact this could have on the 10th Region picture. Crawford, Michael Antrobus, and Dontaie Allen, as a big 3, with two more seasons to improve, would be absolutely deadly.

And if it is true, does that make PC the official region favorite for next season?

Recently heard it through the grapevine that Crawford was considering making a move from Brooksville to Falmouth next season. Is there any truth to that?

St. Pat has a couple good young up and comers in Ben Swolsky and Jack Gallenstein. Not predicting a run of St. Patrick baseball greatness or anything, but those guys ought to be worth watching over the next few seasons.

I was video taping, last few seconds of film are of my shoes because I thought Clarke was about to hit a game winner, would've been the second year in a row we had won in that fashion :meh: Coach Hinson once said that he though Coach Kelsch had someone pull the breaker, after moving to Augusta he's sure of it :lol2:

One of my better high school memories was St. Pat and Augusta having to stop a JV game due to a fire alarm after they burnt their cheeseburgers :lol2:
