  1. Oh, trust me we played the role that was designed for us to play. Like scooterbob said we walked right into the trap. That is our fault but be assured what happened tonight was no accident.
  2. and that is the only logical reason I can come up with to explain why I like you.
  3. Then play. I know it isn't you call but if everyone wanted to play then they should reschedule the game. I really think the Ashland players feel the same way. I don't know them personally but kids don't want to win a championship with the rule book.
  4. I'm not taking it personally but I will except my share of the blame for not know the KHSAA rule book as well as everyone obviously needs to. You see I still live in this fantasy world were you just play ball and not where you try and use the rule book as a weapon. I think Rose Hill played their role in the tournament to perfection. The were put in the toughest bracket, eliminated the tougher teams in the field and then had no one elligable to compete in the finals. It obviously all happened by accident.
  5. The conversation I refered to took place on Monday. Rose Hill was made aware of it this morning and promply called the KHSAA and Paul Blazer High school before 11:00 am. AT, do you believe deep down that Ashland wanted to play this game with Euton, Jackson, and Bair on the floor? Not the players and coaches but the "others".
  6. Not well thought out on Rose Hill's part and I agree that we made the mistake by not knowing the rule. Ashland obviously knew the rule, they spoke to someone, I know personally about it on Monday. They knew that Rose Hill's entire roster would be ineligable come Thursday. If they wanted to avoid this situation they would have made their courtesy call before 2:30 today. I agree we should have been aware of the rule. When it was brought to our attention we attempted to get an answer immediately from the KHSAA and made an attempt to contact Blazer to see how they felt about the situation.
  7. and I know where you can store it. :thumb:
  8. AT, too many strange things keep happening for me to continue to believe it is an accident. If Rose Hill hadn't gotten wind of what was going on they would have shown up and Jackson, Euton, and Bair would have not been allowed to participate.
  9. The varsity games he has played in have been against the David School. Not disrespect intended for the David School but it isn't your typical varsity team.
  10. I have not and would love to, so pull some strings and get the game rescheduled.
  11. They could have played. rose Hill was working under the assumption that they could play anyone up until 2:30 or so. They were working under this assumption based on a conversation with the KHSAA. Unable to reach the KHSAA again until 6:00 Rose Hill wasn't sure who could or couldn't play. The eligable players are not on the freshman team and could not be essembled in time to play at 7:30. The only reason Rose Hill called the KHSAA in the first place was because someone told them they had better check it out because Ashland was not going to let Jackson, Euton, or Bair participate due to bylaw 25. Anyone who thinks this wasn't well thought out is fooling themselves. Nothing that happened today was by accident.
  12. Ohio has a limit on the number of quarters a player can play each night. Therefore, Rose Hill was forced to use players on Tuesday in the JV game they normally wouldn't use. If not for that rule they would have had enough to play tonight.
  13. Rose Hill was told by a KHSAA commissioner at 10:30 am that they could play. At 2:30 Rose Hill received a "courtesy call" from Ashland informing them that they would be in violation if certain player participated. At 6:30 the KHSAA was finally reached and Rose Hill was told not to let the players participate. Leaving very little time for Rose Hill to gather up their 9, 10, 11, and 12 year olds.
  14. You are kidding about the sophmore aren't you? Here is a list of the kids at Rose Hill who play basketball in the 7th through 9th grade. Johnny Bush* Andrew Porter* James Marsh* Scott Gambill (out with a broken nose) Dakotah Euton* Chad Jackson* Kyle Bair* Mike Davis* Tyler Gilbert* Alex Malloy* Robbie Barber* J.D. Cullop Colin Varney Taylor Young 6th graders who play junior high Mike Terry Ryan Whetsel Kyle Bush* Austin Hunt * ineligable for tonights game That leaves Rose Hill with 3 7th graders and 3 sixth graders.
  15. I don't get it either, but I thought it was funny. I could think of anything else.  I'm an old man remember.
  16. I think most people would rather have a refund that watch a freshman team play 6th grade team without it's best player.
  17. And when Ashland invites us to a tournament we grab our vasoline.
  18. AT, I personally call Blazer at 10:45 this morning to discuss the situation and my call wasn't returned until after 3:00. Which by the ways is after the KHSAA is in their meetings and unavailable for the rest of the day.
  19. AT, so you think it would have been better if Rose Hill sent their 6th grade team?
  20. They were so upset they cut the nets down. AT, tell them to reschedule and I will pay for the officials.
  21. Come on Frances, do you really think I meant everyone in the city limits? I mean specifically those who told go pack that only Jackson, Bair, and Euton could play. You know, the people who want you and everyone else to believe that Rose Hill dropped out because their best players were not eligable. I'm referring to whomever it was that left out the fact that not one player who sit on Rose Hill's bench last night would have been eligable. I don't have a specific person and I don't know from whom go herd got his information but I can assure you that go pack got his information from someone from Ashland not Rose Hill or any other school. I still say that Ashland (the school, not the city) and Rose Hill (the school, not the church or cemetary) should reschdule the game, nets or no nets.
  22. From what I understand the KHSAA actually suggested it be rescheduled. However, I also understand Ashland actually cut the net down. I'm not kidding they actually cut the nets down following the forfeit. Really they got a ladder out, climb up it and cut the nets of the basket. I guess a rescheduling is out of the question. Someone please tell me that a ticker tape parade hasn't been scheduled.
  23. Why not? Let the kids play. Nobody worth their salt wants their season to end on a forfeit. Find a date.
  24. This post is a perfect example of what Ashland would love for you to believe. The ineligable players for Rose Hill also included: Johnny Bush, James Marsh, Andrew Porter, Kyle Bush, Mike Davis, Robbie Barber, and Tyler Gilbert. Leaving Rose Hill with a grade total of 3 eligable 7th graders and several 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Basically a student is not allowed to play in a sporting event on every night between Monday and Thursday. They must have at least one day off during that period. Give the fact that the AIT was on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and Rose HIll had a JV/Varsity game on Tuesday anyone, not just Euton, Jackson, and Bair, who played in these games was ineligable. If any of these kids played Rose Hill would be forced to cancel their varsity games on Friday and Saturday. The losers in this situation are the players from Ashland. This is their championship. It is what they play and practice for the entire season. At least that was the case when I help coach their freshman several years ago. If I were the players I would ask for the game to be rescheduled.
  25. Hasn't anyone ever told you to respect your elders? OLD, man the truth hurts. I'm still younger than Fastbreak, shooterx3, scooterbob, and LRCW. You want to talk about old look at those guys.
