  1. Brossart should be stronger this year. They only graduated one Senior last year. Three strong pitchers in Verst , Kremer and Hackworth. Sophmores filling out the Varsity roster last year should give them an experienced team this year. Pflum and Albrand both hit well as Sophmores against strong varsity pitching.
  2. Campbell county graduated several seniors who were the core of their varsity. 3 pitchers in Franzen Walsh and Perrin.
  3. I think this is true. So I am not sure I understand what the point is. Other then letting the kid know they are interested. Seems to me either party could change their view.
  4. Congrats. Scouts usually concentrate on seniors and juniors. There are usually enough excellent players at that level to choose from to keep them busy.
  5. Way to go Nate! Talent and hard work pays off. Looking forward to watching you play your Senior year at BBHS. Should be a good year for the Mustangs.
  6. Anyone have predictions for 10th Region this coming season?
  7. My guess is partly due to baseball being easier to organize. Less equipment and many more baseball fields verses football fields. Officals are proably easier to secure.Besides Baseball is as American as Apple Pie and Chevorlet! It deserves more attention.
  8. Just finished up summer ball and looking forward to fall ball. It was great fun last year. Curious as to which high schools field a team. If you know please chime in
  9. Most likely too old for knothole now. Once teams are done in A ball (16 and under) they generally fold. They have recently added AA league but interest above 16 makes it hard to field teams. Thusly they make it a near travel team with many Cincinnati teams included. Perfect for kids who want to extend their season, get some summer ball in and have fun. Keeps them playing the game which makes everyone better. AA knothole is not widely known about and many kids go select at this point with 18 and under teams. Many see it as the only option.
  10. Not hurting anyone's feelings by having a different opinion
  11. Knothole seemed pretty much over in A ball with U16. The AA east is made of of teams from both sides of the river and is a U18 league. There seems to be more teams and oppurtunities in Select for older players U18.
  12. Seems to be more interesting and people are somewhat passionate about it. Everyone has kept it very civil and no attacks. Maybe we should start another thread about Summer Ball. :ohbrother: Just kidding!
  13. That is where many of us beg to differ. A kid with the right mind set and coaches can get better and excel playing knothole. As already stated many excellent HS players come from knothole.Maybe the overall competition is better in select but to say a kid must play select to improve and excel is simply not true.
  14. Knothole has rules that trys to keep the teams somewhat even, you need to reside in the area where you play, drafts that are controlled etc. These rule have been heavily abuse by coaches who need to win at all cost. But none the less the honest teams are much more restricted then select teams.
  15. I have heard that before and I think it depends. If you think all good players come from and play select you would be wrong. If you say the competition is a bit higher in select you would be right. If the coaches are good, workouts and practices well thought out, and outside tourneys are played it can be very good. (Knothole that is)
  16. Campbell County Mustangs made up mostly of BBHS 16U players is 8 and 1 in AA east of Greater Cincinnati Knothole.
  17. Sometimes the hunger and need to prove oneself makes a player play and work that much harder.
