You are right about that! Its just so hard to throw the ball to the outside when you are so close to the goal line. To me it was 4 down territory anyway. I believe we were down 13-9 so taking a couple of runs to start couldn't have hurt. Well that was last year, time to move on and hopefully they get over the hump this year!

Yeah #23 only had 8 yards a carry in that game and he and Garner averaged almost 10 yards a carry for the season so no there is no way he could have got in

All season long the Aces play to win then when they hit Murray they play not to lose. I was on the field after every Murray game the last 4 years and the one constant question was what were the coaches thinking! Too conservative, no rhythm, same play over and over again, little outs to the wide receivers, against Murray the offense seems to go east to west instead of north and south. 1st and goal from the 6 and you make no attempt to line your guys up against their guys and just play smash mouth football and run it in! 3 straight passes ends in a pick! If you can't do that you have no business advancing anyway! In that game they rushed 20 times for 92 yards that's 4.6 a carry.

I dont understand how KHSAA has Staples playing 6 games last year. He played only a couple of quarters against Apollo in the first game(running clock) got hurt at the end of the 1st quarter against Daviess County (broken bone in hand) sat out the Owensboro, South Spencer game had a bye week and played in the Butler County game and broke his leg at the end of the game out the rest of the year. Had he played against Owensboro I don't think the result would have been much different Catholic played gun shy the whole game, hope this year is different.

Track guys lift weights and do alot of core exercises so I'm sure he is in good shape same for the baseball players they will be ready when their seasons are over.

The big question mark for Owensboro Catholic this year will be their offensive and defensive line. Most skill position players return Houston Hartz, Holden Staples, Jansen Riney and Joseph Mills all played well last year so I could see Catholic having a really good season probably an 8-2 regular season record.
