  1. Who are some other girls to watch?
  2. The hardest part I have with the whole process is knowing which schools are interested in you in return. My daughter has sent probably 25+ letters/emails. With colleges not being able to contact you until your JR year it makes it frustrating knowing where to spend your limited amount of time.money on their camps.I know she sends out a new letter to each college she is interested in every time something happens. Once she learns weather or not she made varsity she will send another letter telling each school.
  3. I would assume so. I just got that info off of a softball website.
  4. I think/hope you will see more and more young ladies from across NKY in the future playing higher levels of softball soon. I know where I went to high school they started playing fastpitch in 1991. If I am not mistaken some schools in NKY have been doing it less than 10 years?
  5. Shelby Graybill from Highlands. Was team offensive MVP last 2 seasons and this being her freshman year will be her 4th year of playing varsity. She is going into her 6th year of travel ball having played for the Cincy Doom, Lady Lasers Red and the last 3 season with Cincy Static 98.
  6. I stole this word for word from OFC in case any are interested. Over the last 2 yrs, I (as well as the Static Org & players) have had the great opportunity to be involved with the Red's Community Fund as it pertains to Red's Urban Youth Academy (RUYA). I am currently one of the Directors for the Reds as it pertains to softball training/instruction for the academy. As you probably heard a few weeks ago as part of the announcement that our hometown will be hosting the 2015 All Star game, the Red's as well as MLB & PG will be building a 33,000 sq ft indoor facility for the academy in Roselawn. This facility will also include 4 championship ball fields with one of which will be strictly for softball. The softball academy is for anyone & everyone who wants to attend to hone their softball skills. A majority of the kids who come to our fall & winter trainings (Weds night from 630-830 @ the old C.A.P.E HS facility) are generally inner city kids. As these kids (ages 7-18) generally come from a challenging situation vs most of our daughters/players, it has really demonstrated to me what being a coach / mentor is really about. Once the players on my team are off to college, I will be dedicating all my time to RUYA. With all this said, RUYA is implementing monthly seminars to all coaches in the area who want to come on various topics (conditioning, field maintenance, throwing/hitting/fielding fundamentals etc) all free of charge. This Saturday, from 10-12 at old C.A.P.E HS, we will be holding a coaches clinic covering throwing & hitting fundamentals. The hitting style we teach at the academy is Right View Pro, based on all the instruction I have received from Howard & Crystl & as you would think we cover throwing first which then leads into hitting. Not sure how many people on this forum would benefit from something like this but I am hoping if you know of a coach, regardless of the age of team they coach, that may benefit from this if you would so kindly pass along the info below. The Red's Community fund wants to try to help as many people as possible especially those who are trying to help the youth of today & tomorrow. To note, the first seminar focused on conditioning & the speaker they brought in was the Red's Head Trainer for conditioning - it was an incredible 2 hrs of of insight. Here is what you need to do to sign up for this free seminar: For more information or to register please visit Reds in the Community | reds.com: Community or contact Bill Daggy at (513) 765-7234 or redsurbanyouthacademy@reds.com. Address: Gamble Montessori School in Winton Place (formerly C.A.P.E. High School) 5425 Winton Ridge Lane, Cincinnati, OH 45232. Thanks again & hope to see some of you there.
  7. Excellent write up. Look forward to seeing the young ladies of NCC in action.
  8. Haley Coffey is solid on defense and coming along great with her bat. Being only a freshmen she has plenty of time to grow and get better.
  9. Thank you. District 33 is brutal.
  10. Since I am not from around these parts I have a question that I think one of you can answer. What districts feed into the 9th region?
  11. I'll take Simms from Conner, this is not a knock on either young lady mentioned. I just have seen Simms more than the other two and against the team's she did it against.
  12. Why not see if you can make it so if on a given night one team has 12 girls and one has 7 if you can switch a few girls around teams. If I am not mistaken the league is about getting some girls playing time and not for trophies?
  13. It depends on where you wish to end up. Knowing the team your daughter plays for I would say the drive is more than worth it. When my daughter was 10 we drove about 45 minutes north of Columbus for practice once a week. Even when she broke a bone in her foot we still didn't miss a practice or a game. It was worth it for sure.
  14. Lexi Snelbaker saw her catch 7 games in 2 days at the 12u ASA "A" eastern nationals. Our other catcher got hurt. She has a good arm and very solid and can put a hurting on the ball.
  15. There is an 8th grader at Conner who I would put with anybody mentioned here.
  16. NDA is a team that I think will be fun to see how they do over the course of the season. They have a lot of talent and adding Haylee Smith really raises the bar for them.
  17. When my daughter played with Paiges younger sister everyone thought she would be the one to go far in softball. Where as Paige was a good player she wasn't even pitching then. Its nice to see her mentioned and just goes to show girls at 10-12u are not who they will be at 14u+
