The drive remains the Meaux show as he rushes for 5 yards. Meaux takes a pitch and the Ads are flagged for holding, so the Ads go back 10 yards. 2nd & 15 from the Ads 30 sees the Ads do another Meaux run, getting to the original line of scrimmage and set up a 3rd & 10. 10:00 to play in the first half. Quarterback Dillon Cruver (sophomore) throws it downfield but Cam Peters (junior) drops it. Danville elects to go for it on 4th down. Cruver drops back and fires to the middle of the field to Trinden Sellers (senior), who makes a big play on his first touch of the game by getting the first down and moving the ball to the Commanders 10.

On another set of downs, Meaux runs for 5 yards. Meaux runs up the middle but Washington swarms him for no gain. On 3rd down the Ads get in the I-formation and Meaux runs for 6 yards to move the ball to the Washington 24 yard line. End of the First Quarter: Washington County 6, Danville 0

Ads hand it to Meaux for the fourth play in the game and that goes for four yards. On 2nd down there is another run by Meaux that goes for a first down, moving the ball to the Washington 35. Washington calls their first timeout of the half after that. Washington County leads 6-0 but the Ads have the ball in their territory with 1:54 left in the first quarter

Washington's kickoff goes out of bounds. Steve Stonebreaker goes against type by not ordering a rekick so the Admirals will start the game on offense on their own 40. Jayvian Meaux (sophomore) runs for 5 yards on a pitch play on first down. Meaux takes a second handoff up the middle but cannot spin for a first down. Ads just gain two yards. 3rd & 3 results in Meaux barely getting the first down after running from the shotgun position.

5:20 to play in the first quarter as the Commanders are now in a goalline set of downs. 1st and goal is another run that ends up just short of the end zone where the nose of the ball is close to the goal line. The ball comes out but it is said to have come out after the runner was down. 2nd and goal is a QB tush push-like move and the Commanders draw first blood to get on the board. Ads defense still struggling as they were getting pushed around on the drive. Washington's extra point try misses. Washington County takes the early lead 6-0 with 4:31 to play in the first quarter

Ball is now at the Ads 16. On first down, Commanders take the edge on the ground and go for a first down, advancing 11 yards to the Ads 5.

Commanders keep it on the ground, running to the outside but the Admirals keep it contained and only give up 2 yards. 2nd & 8 (8;04 to play) sees a pitch to the left and it goes for 4 yards. 3rd and 4 is another run but the Commanders are a yard shy. The Commanders decide to go for it on 4th & 1. Ads load the box but the Commanders still get it on a QB keeper that just goes up the middle.

Commanders start their next play with a pass into the flat and it goes for 3 yards. That is followed by a fullback dive up the middle for two yards. It brings up a second third down on the drive that needs to go 5 yards. Commanders run to the right and get just enough for a first down to move the chains again. Ball now at the Ads 30.

Danville kicks off to begin the game. Washington takes the return about 15 yards to their own 40 yard line. Run goes for 5 yards up the middle on the first play of the game. Fullback run on 2nd down goes for a mere yard. 3rd & 4 sees Washington do a pitch to the outside and they advance into Danville territory to the Ads 40.

Opening notes per Admirals radio team: Mylan Peters, a sophomore wide receiver, out for Danville due to concussion protocol. Lineman Jamaree Johnson, who is a senior, is out for the season with an ACL injury suffered in the final minutes of last week's game. Braiden Ford, a sophomore tight end and linebacker, who was out last week with a groin injury, is playing. Danville is 13-0 all-time against Washington County.

To me none of this stuff has any teeth when people just take it to court and have a friendly judge overturn it anyway. Same thing that we are seeing in the NCAA. Many of these sports governing bodies don't have any teeth in their regulations.

I hope they get a few scores. It is really demoralizing to take these types of losses. Danville had a lot of these 2 seasons ago! It was rough.

Class 2A District 4 play begins this week when the Danville Admirals (4-0) head to Washington County (1-3). Last week the Admirals avenged a loss last season to Lincoln County, winning 48-21. Trinden Sellers was a big reason for the Admirals success, scoring three times and also getting a key reception in the fourth quarter on a third and long that set up another Admiral score and let them pull away from Lincoln late. Admiral quarterback Dillon Cruver went 12-of-14 from the air, throwing for three scores. Talented running back Jayvian Meaux added three touchdowns of his in the game. But the Admirals weakness continues to be defense as teams have run all over them but also got most of what they have wanted through the air. Through four games the Admirals have been greatly helped by a quick strike offense that demoralizes the opposition but the defense needs to make strides to help the team put games away earlier. The Commanders of Washington County earned their first win of the year last week against Western Hills 33-12. Quarterback Thomas Roution went 5-for-10 for 90 yards and one touchdown and five different Commander players found the end zone, led by running back Rakim Porter, who ran for 104 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns. Last year Danville hosted Washington and won a narrow 21-12 victory. What happens this year?

Yeah, this team has to find some answers quick but four games in, this is starting to just become who they are. If there was a good defense with this team they could be an outside contender because of how skilled the offensive players are. But the defense is lagging behind everything.

Post-Game Notes: -Admirals move to 4-0 for the first time since the 2017 season, which was the year they went 15-0 and won the 2A state championship under Clay Clevenger. -Next week Danville will start district play, traveling to Washington County (0-3 heading into tonight but they were leading their game by three scores earlier tonight vs. Western Hills). -Lincoln County falls to 1-3. Next week they will host East Jessamine (2-2). -The game was closer than its score would indicate. Lincoln came close to making it a 28-28 game but failed to punch it into the end zone after using nearly all of the third quarter to drive down the field. -Trinden Sellers led the Admirals with three touchdowns. He converted a big third and long that helped position the Admirals for a score that put them up by two touchdowns, a lead that they kept and added to the rest of the way. -Danville had a few injuries in this game. Mylan Peters fell down after a play and did not return to action. Then Demaree Johnson, a lineman, was carried off on a stretcher with a leg injury. Braiden Ford (sophomore), who plays tight end and lineback, sat out this game due to lingering issues from the previous game.

Adyn Phillips (junior) rushes for a yard. Lincoln runs one last play to Phillips, who goes up the middle and gets another yard. Final Score: Danville 48, Lincoln County 21

A few rushes give Lincoln a new first down on the Admiral 44.

Danville is flagged for a facemask on the kickoff, so Lincoln will start what might be their final drive on their own 45. Admiral lineman Demaree Johnson (senior) is down with a leg injury and a stretcher has been taken to him, creating a pause in the action with 2:27 left to play.

Sellers takes the ball and goes to the end zone for his third score of the game. There were lots of Lincoln defenders who were falling down all over the field on that play. Garcia's kick is no good. Danville adds to its lead, now ahead 48-21 with 2:45 to go

On 1st down, Hill takes the handoff but is stuffed in the middle for no gain. Foster throws deep on 2nd down toward the left sideline but it falls incomplete. On 3rd and 10 with 3:10 to play, another throw from Foster is incomplete. Foster throws again on 4th down and completes it but the gain is not enough. There was room but the receiver fell down just before the chains. Danville takes over on downs and will begin their drive on their own 49. Danville still leads 42-21 with 3:00 to play in the game.

Lincoln will start their next drive on their own 32. Hill rushes for five yards. Foster keeps the ball and makes a five yard gain, advancing the ball for a new set of downs that will begin at the Lincoln 42.

Cruver makes a screen pass to Baker. Baker twists the Lincoln defenders up, creating another quick Admiral score. Baker split the defenders with his speed. Garcia makes the kick. Danville now leads 42-21 with 5:28 left in the game

Out of the shotgun, Foster throws it deep but the Admirals Zane Knott (junior) tips it away. Lincoln decides to go for it on 4th and 7, Foster is sacked by Saivon Johnson (sophomore) and Keghan Jones (senior). The ball belongs to the Admirals at the Lincoln 40 with 5:39 to play.
