Hopefully more kids are avoiding G'Town. Really disappointed in the ethics of Coach Cronin during recruiting.
Can you elaborate a little more? What did Cronin do that is questionable?

How does a Beechwood vs Conner thread turn into an argument over how good a 15 years old Midland team is??

I know he loves Football more than any other sport, but I think it'd be great if UK also let him play Baseball...if he is up to the grind of both sports in College along with his studies. I love watching him on the diamond.
What a great athlete. He and AJ Collins were from the same mold and this county is lucky to have both of them to watch play multiple sports the last 4 years.
To my knowledge he has no interest in playing both sports in college. D1 football is basically a full time job. Add class work to that and you've got a full plate. No reason to sacrifice success in one sport or the other just to say "I played two sports in college".
Maybe at a smaller school that would be an option. But not at UK. no question he has the skills to do it, but it's not going to happen. 1.) I highly doubt UK football would allow it and 2.) pretty positive Fogle haven't even considered the option, nor will he.

I could see him getting a few snaps in the slot this year. Hope he remembers his baseball skills and slides alot...those guys at UGA, Bama and LSU are a little bigger than what he saw this year.
I think he'll be just fine.. at 6' 210 LBS, he's no pip squeak.. He's even been quoted as saying he likes going over the middle, because it doesn't scare him.. He's not afraid of contact.

UK receiver coach said today that he sees walk-ons getting the chance to get on the field this year. He and Neal Brown say they simply do not have enough receivers.
With the type of Offense they will be running, the 5 wide "air raid", they need probably at least 10 solid receivers to rotate throughout the game. I will not be shocked to see Fogle getting a good amount of PT this year.
A player like Cam, with his size, speed, athletic ability, and most importantly work ethic, will find his way onto the field.

Should probably note that EKU was in attendance to take a look at Smiley' date=' and he did not disappoint with 4 shutout innings. Gave up 1 hit I believe. No walks.[/quote']
Correct. He took a no hitter late into the game. I feel like the EKU scout got to see a good performance.

With his speed, there aren't many catchers who are going to throw him out stealing bases. He already owns the career stolen bases record at Conner. He broke that one last season. I can't remember if it was in the Dixie game, or the Lloyd game on Saturday, but he stole third standing up, and stole home once too.
He is one of the most pure athletes I've ever seen. I bet if he went out for the bowling team, he'd be an all star in that too. Fun kid to watch.

Rough game for Dixie hurlers. Conner scored their first 8 on 3 or 4 hits max.
Incorrect. Fogle had 4 hits himself.

They turned around and run ruled Lloyd as well. On the day they won a combined 21-0

Highlands coach tweeted it.
Got ya, thanks.

Highlands/Conner is cancelled.
Are you sure? As far as I know, it's still on..

Cameron Fogle for Conner
Hit 6 bombs from the lead off spot last year.
Coming into his senior season he already has career records for triples, doubles (i believe), stolen bases, he is within 13 of the hits record, and by years end, he'll have the career games played record as well.
He can flat out play baseball. For my money, probably the best player in NKY, and one of the best in the state. Played in the JR/SR all state game last year.
We've all seen his speed on Friday nights, he can cover some serious ground in the outfield, and it's almost a sure thing he's stealing second when he gets on base. He's a career .450 batting average, and rarely ever strikes out.
If he wasn't playing for Stoops in Lexington next year, I'd say he'd have some serious opportunities on the diamond. But football is his passion and 1st love. Baseball is just fun for him.

What are the odds that Newport wins a game this year? I'd say slim to none.. I can't believe that they haven't hired a coach yet. I can't imagine the candidate pool is very deep. I know I wouldn't want any part of that program to begin with, much less now after all of this B.S. going on with hiring of a coach.. Maybe it's taken so long, because no one wants it, and they have no candidates??

Ah just tap the brakes a little....love Suchanek and his family, but not quite certain of D-1. Fieger would need to grow substantially (and he could) to be d1 in football or baseball. I mean Max Nussbaum was a stud football player and will go to EKU (which is not d1). Just keeping things in the right perspective, not trying to damper the possibilities for the young men.
EKU is D1

Wow! A new low even for you my friend.
It won't be long until this clown is kicked off again. Don't let him ruffle your feathers. He's a joke.

Will see when they play each other this season. SK will take Conner to the wood shed just like they have the last few times they have crushed Conner! That is a fact jack!
Who let this guy back in?? I knew someone should have changed the locks

Racke posted on Twitter last night that he committed to UD, and is blessed for the opportunity. Glad that he has found a home, and gets the opportunity to play. I'm sure he has the Butler game circled on his calendar.

Fogle is going to fit right into Stoops and Brown's "Air Raid" offense. His talent and speed are things that cannot be taught. He is a born winner and an incredibly hard worker. Not many high school kids wake up at 530 in the morning to lift and run bleachers.
I have no doubt in his ability and will enjoy getting to watch him play in the SEC. I hope he arrives in Lexington for camp with a massive chip on his shoulder, I know he is determined to silence all of his doubters. A player like Cameron, coupled with something to prove is a dangerous combo.
Props to UK's coaching staff for seeking out the in state talent.
UK gained a lot more fans from the NKY area today. Congratulations Cameron. You Earned this and I know you won't take it for granted.
We're all extremely proud of the things you've done, and the things you will do in the years to come.

Yes there is, but remember that right up until the day practice starts they can tell the PWO no thanks. Or tell him wait until school starts along with the other walk ons. If I remember it right the latter is exactly what happened to Nick West.
That will NOT be the case for Fogle, I can promise you that. Whichever school he chooses is getting one of the premiere athletes in the state of KY.

Big difference between walk on and preferred walk on. There are programs all over the country that have players who start that were former preferred walk ons.

Wherever he goes, whatever he does, he will be exceptional. Personally I think he looks good in blue...

Exposure to colleges, scouts etc is going to come from playing in a competitive summer team. From playing on those teams, and playing well; players are invited to showcases that are loaded with scouts.
Simply playing HS ball, for the most part, will not bring the exposure that most desire.

Who's the Best Hitter in the 9th region so far
in KY Baseball (High School)
Posted
I'll go with C Fogle of Conner. Batting .444 Slugging% .852 On base% .419. He's got 9 RBI, 4 Doubles, 3 Triples, 1 HR and 0 strike outs. Majority of the balls he's hit for outs have been screaming liners that are directly at people.
